He loved her for who she is and have always cared for her since the beginning. But unlike most cliche, kind second-male character, he was also hilarious and entertaining. Him and Hyejin's interaction was fun to watch which cause them to have more chemistry. Siwon's character was super charming.
I've never shipped a single second lead before but Siwon oppa just melted my heart. He was the perfect gentleman. He wanted others to be happy even if he was hurt. He never let jealousy cloud his judgement and never gave way to anger. He was funny, sweet, heart meltingly sexy and just my perfect guy. He was the perfect second lead and honestly I think he stole the whole show without even trying, now that is talent.

i think the character of Choi Siwon is more dominating here in she was pretty , his character is so mysterious and a a great comedian too. Actually there is also chemistry between Hye-Jin and Siwon here

I really really like Siwon's character here. Up to the beginning Reporter Kim liked Hye Jin. Not by her looks but by her personality. He just didn't care about her looks. Unlike Seo Joon's character, he just keeps hurting Hye Jin. Reporter Kim is always there for Hye Jin. If I were Hye Jin, I will choose to be with someone who loves me more like Reporter Kim.

I've watched Siwons dramas(love Super Junior too) and I have to say his acting in this drama was the best! He stole every scene he was in and the chemistry between these two was remarkable. He said he would love to act with her again. If you havent seen " She Was Pretty" I highly recommend this drama. This drama is not without any flaws but Siwon is flawles!

Yeah it's good, but to me the most painful scene is when Siwon leaves everything to find her, and then gets into an accident but when he saw Seo Joon and her together, he left without saying a word... That was the most heartbreaking one for me...

Warning: long comment I like him for Hye Jin (on first), felt sorry and he deserves better. But I think as the storyline progresses by, his character, connection and relationship with Hye Jin fits him the role of being her best friend/brother if you really watch and feel them. And maybe he becomes a little bit pushy and annoying for her, remember the times that because of his jealousy towards Sung Joon he wants her to avoid and get some time with Hye Rin despite Hye Jin needs to go with Sung Joon. (He even lied on some scenario). One sad part is when Hye Jin really wants to say that she likes him but just as a friend only (she is having hard time saying it because she wants to say it without hurting him). But Si Won always cut their conversation, if you are really a man, you let her say what feeling she has for you, it just leads to inflicting more pain for him. Their bonding and his jokes resembles a best friend relationship. In life, it's not always being the romantic one, it,'s just that some people fits the role of being a friend, support and part of your growth and I see Si Won as that. You need to accept that even it is hard because that's the reality. I just hope that he ended up with Ha Ri in the ending. I am not bias (I know that Si Won is the most mature one) I just think that Sun Joong (PSJ) fits as her husband. I read comments about PSJ having no chemistry and being the first love that really sucks but if you just remember him saying that even Hye jin is not his first love/the real Hye Jin, he will still fall in love with her because she is "kind" despite she was ugly and giving Sun Joong problems with his work that time. He may be having hard time saying and contemplating words because it's his character. He may not be straightforward as Si Won where he expressed in words that Hye Jin is pretty, but you can really see everytime on Sung Joong's eyes that he sees Hye Jin as a pretty woman. If you can also remember, Sung Joon allows her to stay for one year in Korea to pursue what she really wants (writing fairy tale stories). Hye Jin said "A person looks the prettiest when they're doing what they love". He knew the feeling that Hye jin really wants and respects her decision. Sometimes, words and actions are not the only way to say what we really mean, but just by feeling and supporting them on what they reallly want. Hye Jin cherishes every moment with Sun Joong, more comfortable, and you can see them that they are really a couple. A reality couple is the one that doesn't have so much chemistry compared to kdrama couples but you can feel their love and bond for each other. Their cuteness and bondness with each other already says that they are really a couple. As for the part that Sun Joong is not funny, etc. Remember that his character in this drama is stiff and shy. He is lonely since his younger years, bullied and having only one friend where we all know that their communication has been disconnected for years. We cannot be mad that he has that character. PSJ sees her as more than a pretty woman. *SORRY for my long comment, I'm just sad that I always see this type of comment where they always say that Hye Jin chose the wrong person to be her husband.
why cant people realize that they are hurting someone else's feelings by loving someone else? why cant they love the person who loves them that is worthy to be loved too? This drama made me realized that the lead man knew that girl was his first love when the girl tried to change herself and because of some sort of reasons they ended up being together. However the second lead man likes the girl just the way she is. that second lead man was always by the girl's side to make her happy everytime that the lead man makes her sad. I just cant understand why cant the second lead man cant have the girl when he worthy than the lead man. I wish they stop making dramas that is completely complicated. and i wish that someday the second lead man have the girl rather than giving up their own feelings just for other people to be happy :(
Siwon needs more songs like this. Most of SuJu music makes him sound nasal since SuJu music is fitted for the better singers such as KRY and not for Siwon since he's already the visual. He really does shine on this song and drama. What a great farewell gift to his fans before leaving for the military!
It depends on the songs, not in all SuJu's songs his voice is nasal, unlike Donghae. Siwon is one of the members most underrated even when he is the one who sings mostly in the chorus.
Can't agree more. Actually, Siwon participate in most harmonies of suju's song. He & Shentong arranged almost all the low voices of harmony. Sometimes also supported KRY with Sunming for high voices. He has a wide range and stable breath. If watch suju's living fancam, we will find some voice we thought to sing by K&Y was actually his voice. His solo can approve his vocal level. Just saw this drama in one go only slept for 4 hours.. And I would like to admit that after a point I lost interest in the main leads chemistry which was so obvious but the only reason I kept watching the show was Siwon. For me he just completely stole away the show and the only reason he didn't get the girl because the other guy was her childhood love. My heart broke everytime he did something good for others even though he was hurt by it. I cried a lot and only for him. I cried when it was shown he got into accident while searching for her when he asked her to not go... when he came to say goodbye for the last time.. The way he looked at her I cried my heart out. I stopped at episode 9 because I know he won't end up with her In the long run and I was rooting for them so hard. Why are these dramas always like this ? The cliches really need to stop . His character is the best one in this entire drama and he really loved her for who she is. To be honest, Sung Joon doesn't deserve Hye Jin, all the shut he said to her really ticked me off, and Si won always supported her even when she thought she wasn't pretty
What did he say? Sung Joon was as decent as can be and only overreacted because he couldn’t reconcile his first love with Ha-ri and that messed with his head. He deserved her completely. You can hurt for Shin-hyuk without seeing Sung Joon as a villain. This is what happens in life, some people get hurt through nobody's fault. Not everything adds up neatly, which is why this drama was so realistic because Shin-hyuk kept hurting till the end.

The drama in which I had the biggest second lead syndrome. How and why didn't she choose him? He understood her the most, treated her the best, and loved her unconditionally. If I was the author, I would've written it that the female lead chose him. Even after he wasn't chosen, he still sacrificed his identity to save her and her boyfriend. Omg.

I really really like Siwon's character here. Up to the beginning Reporter Kim liked Hye Jin. Not by her looks but by her personality. He just didn't care about her looks. Unlike Seo Joon's character, he just keeps hurting Hye Jin. Reporter Kim is always there for Hye Jin. If I were Hye Jin, I will choose to be with someone who loves me more like Reporter Kim.

I've watched Siwons dramas(love Super Junior too) and I have to say his acting in this drama was the best! He stole every scene he was in and the chemistry between these two was remarkable. He said he would love to act with her again. If you havent seen " She Was Pretty" I highly recommend this drama. This drama is not without any flaws but Siwon is flawles!

I like him for Hye Jin (on first), felt sorry and he deserves better. But I think as the storyline progresses by, his character, connection and relationship with Hye Jin fits him the role of being her best friend/brother if you really watch and feel them. And maybe he becomes a little bit pushy and annoying for her, remember the times that because of his jealousy towards Sung Joon he wants her to avoid and get some time with Hye Rin despite Hye Jin needs to go with Sung Joon. (He even lied on some scenario).
One sad part is when Hye Jin really wants to say that she likes him but just as a friend only (she is having hard time saying it because she wants to say it without hurting him). But Si Won always cut their conversation, if you are really a man, you let her say what feeling she has for you, it just leads to inflicting more pain for him.
Their bonding and his jokes resembles a best friend relationship. In life, it's not always being the romantic one, it,'s just that some people fits the role of being a friend, support and part of your growth and I see Si Won as that. You need to accept that even it is hard because that's the reality. I just hope that he ended up with Ha Ri in the ending.
I am not bias (I know that Si Won is the most mature one) I just think that Sun Joong (PSJ) fits as her husband.
I read comments about PSJ having no chemistry and being the first love that really sucks but if you just remember him saying that even Hye jin is not his first love/the real Hye Jin, he will still fall in love with her because she is "kind" despite she was ugly and giving Sun Joong problems with his work that time.
He may be having hard time saying and contemplating words because it's his character. He may not be straightforward as Si Won where he expressed in words that Hye Jin is pretty, but you can really see everytime on Sung Joong's eyes that he sees Hye Jin as a pretty woman.
If you can also remember, Sung Joon allows her to stay for one year in Korea to pursue what she really wants (writing fairy tale stories).
Hye Jin said "A person looks the prettiest when they're doing what they love".
He knew the feeling that Hye jin really wants and respects her decision.
Sometimes, words and actions are not the only way to say what we really mean, but just by feeling and supporting them on what they reallly want.
Hye Jin cherishes every moment with Sun Joong, more comfortable, and you can see them that they are really a couple. A reality couple is the one that doesn't have so much chemistry compared to kdrama couples but you can feel their love and bond for each other. Their cuteness and bondness with each other already says that they are really a couple.
As for the part that Sun Joong is not funny, etc. Remember that his character in this drama is stiff and shy. He is lonely since his younger years, bullied and having only one friend where we all know that their communication has been disconnected for years. We cannot be mad that he has that character.
PSJ sees her as more than a pretty woman.
*SORRY for my long comment, I'm just sad that I always see this type of comment where they always say that Hye Jin chose the wrong person to be her husband.

This drama made me realized that the lead man knew that girl was his first love when the girl tried to change herself and because of some sort of reasons they ended up being together.
However the second lead man likes the girl just the way she is. that second lead man was always by the girl's side to make her happy everytime that the lead man makes her sad. I just cant understand why cant the second lead man cant have the girl when he worthy than the lead man.
I wish they stop making dramas that is completely complicated. and i wish that someday the second lead man have the girl rather than giving up their own feelings just for other people to be happy :(

Siwon needs more songs like this. Most of SuJu music makes him sound nasal since SuJu music is fitted for the better singers such as KRY and not for Siwon since he's already the visual. He really does shine on this song and drama. What a great farewell gift to his fans before leaving for the military!
It depends on the songs, not in all SuJu's songs his voice is nasal, unlike Donghae. Siwon is one of the members most underrated even when he is the one who sings mostly in the chorus.
Can't agree more. Actually, Siwon participate in most harmonies of suju's song. He & Shentong arranged almost all the low voices of harmony. Sometimes also supported KRY with Sunming for high voices. He has a wide range and stable breath. If watch suju's living fancam, we will find some voice we thought to sing by K&Y was actually his voice. His solo can approve his vocal level. Just saw this drama in one go only slept for 4 hours.. And I would like to admit that after a point I lost interest in the main leads chemistry which was so obvious but the only reason I kept watching the show was Siwon. For me he just completely stole away the show and the only reason he didn't get the girl because the other guy was her childhood love. My heart broke everytime he did something good for others even though he was hurt by it. I cried a lot and only for him. I cried when it was shown he got into accident while searching for her when he asked her to not go... when he came to say goodbye for the last time.. The way he looked at her I cried my heart out. I sincerely don't like seo joon. I just love you Siwon oppa as the character shin Hyuk and yes as Siwon too. I hope I will meet someone like you.

I have never shipped a second lead but while watching this drama I got hardcore second lead syndrome. I even cried for his character in the end and even though I love Park Seo Joon Oppa I somewhat disliked his character and feel reporter Kim deserved her.

He deserved to be the main lead . He like her the way she is i think that's why it's called she was pretty because siwon always form the first ep found her pretty.
He had all the makings of a male lead but Korea's obsessed with making unrealistic ceos as the main lead. I can't even imagine her and the ml working out together in the future & if they do end up getting married, they'd divorce. She had to change herself for him. Change can be good but not for superficial reasons.

I stopped at episode 9 because I know he won't end up with her In the long run and I was rooting for them so hard. Why are these dramas always like this ? The cliches really need to stop . His character is the best one in this entire drama and he really loved her for who she is. I almost shed a tear when he kept saying to her "you looked much better before" or "I miss the old Jackson." ... Sigh rant over I'll go bawl my eyes out in the corner 😥

What did he say? Sung Joon was as decent as can be and only overreacted because he couldn’t reconcile his first love with Ha-ri and that messed with his head. He deserved her completely. You can hurt for Shin-hyuk without seeing Sung Joon as a villain. This is what happens in life, some people get hurt through nobody's fault. Not everything adds up neatly, which is why this drama was so realistic because Shin-hyuk kept hurting till the end.

Shin Hyuk and Hye Jin was so perfect together. 2nd lead syndrome was so strong in this drama.
I'm glad that unlike most female protagonists in drama's she didn't push him away in a cold and hurtful manner. She still treated him like her closest friend and let him remain close to her.
