im here because of the "civilizations" remix but i also love "crimson sunrise," "'neath dark waters," "heroes" ... there's too many good tracks on here! thank you for putting it here on youtube
I really love this! The phone ring and the message in the beginning are kind of anti-chill though big time… they’re quite loud compared to the mix and spooked me. :(
I feel like the arrangers of this album had no idea what chill was supposed to sound like and thought just adding random sfx to the songs was enough to cover up some of the fast-paced, jarring drums and bass. It's nice sounding and probably well liked for some, but this is the last album that I would listen to for chill music. XIV needs to look at some actual channels that do it well like Fluidified and all of the artists that it collects for their chill mixes. That would be a good place to get examples.
For real, I settle down to do some knitting (joking the whole time that I'm levelling weaver IRL) and was constantly losing count of my rows because of something distracting me and making me wonder why it's in a "chill mix"
100% agree, I was looking forward to this as easy listening but it sounds like someone just decided to have fun and play with a bunch of sfx over tracks and throw it up as a "chill mix".
I'm not sure I would qualify all of these as "soothing"... some of them are just the original song with "wubs" and bass drops played over them at odd intervals that don't line up with the song at all. Civilizations sounds like a rave remix rather than a lo-fi remix -- something to _dance_ to, not sit back and try to craft to. The arrangements of Shadows Withal and Equilibrium have _way_ more frenetic energy and clamor to them than the originals. The drum(?) beats in Neath Dark Waters sound like someone's trying to break down my door. Night in the Brume and The Labyrinth would be a perfectly chill songs without the bass drop and sudden volume shift, respectively, in the middle of each. By contrast, Ink Long Dry feels like it's _building_ to a bass drop that never comes, which instead leaves you on edge the whole time. Painted Foothills and Stars Long Dead sound chill at first, but become jarring with all the unexpected and random sounds played over them throughout. Not to say any of these arrangements are BAD, just that putting them on an album of lo-fi remixes is an odd choice, when half of the songs on the album are but the other half fight against the cultivated vibe like they're trying to slap you awake.
I love this music, but I'd love it if it could be released on Spotify as I don't use either of the other services as not everyone uses Amazon or iTunes.
Yeah I wish they would release stuff on streaming instead of via purchasing. I'm still waiting for the Shadowbringers patches, base Endwalker, and the Scions & Sinners stuff to be put up on Spotify, which already doesn't really do music purchasing afaik.
Amazon and iTunes are for the purchased album and Spotify doesn't sell music to own. I switched from Spotify to RUclips Music because of Premium and that means I can listen to this as a normal stream any time.
@@seankkg And yet everything up to ShB is available on spotify to listen to I pay £9.99 a month to listen to a lot of music FFXIV included so really SE is making more money out of Spotify users than iTune ppl on a single purchase as Spotify will have to pay SE a ton of royalties alone.
Can always just have it on in the background...or download it offline to listen to on your phone. Or, buy the album. I believe Amazon is a lot easier to get a hold of then iTunes.
I'm a bit disappointed that this seems to be the first full-length FFXIV OST album (even including remixes) that's only released digitally, and I hope it's just an exception (as there's no lossless DL option).
Well. I appreciate the effort that was put into this mix. But to be frank, I wouldn't have released it - at least not in this state. Firstly, it isn't even close to being "Chill" or "Soothing". Secondly, to me, the tracks in this mix lost their personality. I don't feel a thing listening to them in this way/shape/form. They just sound "wrong". Also, it feels like the tracks are experiencing an identity crisis. What I mean with that is, that the tracks simply lack direction. Like for a good example look at the Pulse Remix, most of the tracks are also the same as or close to their IGM counterpart, yet they have different directions while also having a certain personality/character to them. In contrast, this mix feels like they just like someone randomly slapped some SFX on top. Even without those SFX, I would rather Craft/Gather with IGM, or I'll simply look for something else entirely. Thirdly, it feels out of place. I wouldn't be able to guess when I'd like to listen to this mix. Definitely not while doing crafts or gathering. In duties, it'd be also a hard pass from my side. While on the move IRL ain't it either. Neither I'd be listening to it while working out nor at work. I was looking forward to this mix, as the title implied a somewhat relaxing version of some BGM playing in the game - sadly, even the IGM is more relaxing than "random SFX on top of music that somewhat resembles FFXIV BGM tracks" to me. But yeah, still I think people tried their best - maybe it is simply my taste, but that's the way I feel about the mix.
Quality remixes, but some of the tracks don't fit the soothing label. Shadows Withal, the drums in Crimson Sunrise, that Night in the Brume drop? hahahaha.
Alot of these are Hit or miss. Star Long Dead was especially disappointing. Putting in an obnoxiously loud bass beat and throwing in some annoying sounds here and there has to be one of the worst decisions in music I've ever heard.
still come back to this, for 2 years when i needed to do school stuff... and now im using it while writing my final essay... time realy does fly.

Confirmed. Even this extra chill version of Flow makes me burst into tears.
and they put it right before Close in the Distance because they KNOW. I'm half surprised they didn't just shove Answers in there for the trifecta.
And then they ruin it with the awful Stars Long Dead rendition =_=
im here because of the "civilizations" remix but i also love "crimson sunrise," "'neath dark waters," "heroes" ... there's too many good tracks on here! thank you for putting it here on youtube
This ain't soothing sanctuary, this is the drip sanctuary! after hearing painted foothills mix I can only see Tataru wearing some lit ass drip.
Close in the Distance will stop making me cry, eventually.
Yes, screaming "Tales of loss, and fire, and faith" at the top of my lungs with tears in my eyes is indeed very 'soothing'. 10/10 would cry again
Everyone else is mentioning Flow, but Goddammit I love Old Wounds. It reminds me of chill night gathering in The Fringes.❤
This is such a good album, hopefully we will get some of the tracks as orchestrion rolls ingame
i wake up too drill night in the brume, today is gonna be a great day thank you youtube playlists!
0:34:03 - "The tale of Hermes - the man who knew so much, yet understood so little - ends here."
came on during a RUclips ad.. super sweet.
Night in the brume drill remix hits hard
ありがとうございます
Night in the brume was thumpin, I was so surprised here
それは素晴らしいです - すべてのトラックの開始時に話す声を除いて
The transition from Lochs to Eternal wind made me unexpectedly tear up, what a beautiful arrangement. Props to the arranger.
But it doesn't. The transition is from Oblivion to Eternal Wind
@@shoedonym9336 Oblivion to "Tomorrow and Tomorrow", you mean?
@@branford_671 yes, but I was just referring to what they said. Tomorrow and Tomorrow is based on Eternal Wind so I assumed that's what they meant.
I really love this! The phone ring and the message in the beginning are kind of anti-chill though big time… they’re quite loud compared to the mix and spooked me. :(
Official lo-fi mix, what a pleasant surprise! Thank you, Square Enix :).

ゲームの場面を思い出しながら聞き入ってしまいます😊
Don't know if I'd call some of the beats "soothing" but pretty nice mix
there's definitely a Pimp My Chocobo feel in there. Trap remixes?
100% agree, I was looking forward to this as easy listening but it sounds like someone just decided to have fun and play with a bunch of sfx over tracks and throw it up as a "chill mix".
Tataru be like.
I'm gonna make so much money!!!
Official Lo-Fi mix?? Wtf! This is awesome!
The Foundation soundin kinda sturdy
i would pay good money for a close the distance orchestrion roll omg
best square enix channel 👍
Now this is the type of adds I need in my browser
Studying for my economics quiz and this dropped at a perfect time, I managed to recite what I studied it's half an hour away wish me luck💙
Yeap, bangers. Good job composers and mixers.
最初はううん?と思ってたけど聴いているとだんだんハマってくる不思議な感覚になりました😊アレンジメントもなかなか良いですね。
I've been waiting for this since the announcement! Thank you so much for putting it here on RUclips, it's amazing. Much love
Thank you for sharing this on youtube !!
Awesome! It's making everything else beautiful.
End of 2024 bois let's goooo who else is here

Awkward moment when you buy the Endwalker for 50 dollars(deserve that tbh) but accidentally deleting it so you lost the soundtrack from your itunes...

Is that...Otamatone Close in the Distance?
👍👍👍👍👍
The tofubeats drops really clash with this mix and are way to harsh for a "soothing" vibe.
it was not soothing kinda thing but pretty good to hear while gathering :)
I enjoyed everything until stars long dead where it sounded like somebody had just gotten a soundmaker pad and started hitting random buttons.
Anybody else start to suddenly feel on edge when the beeps started in stars long dead or just me 😭
wow this is good

are these the actual songs from the album or did someone add stuff to make it not as chill?

I'll be honest, this aint good. Only a couple of these actually fit the soothing aesthetic
I'm not sure half the arrangers on here understand what Chill means.
For you maybe, but for a lot of others this is exactly what was needed. I hope you were able to find something that worked for you 😊
@The_raggedyman For the dictionary. If this is what you like, get your own word for it.

A very not chill lofi mix, lol. I still like it, just wasnt what i was expecting, and thats not alwsys a bad thing.
Love this but the DJ fading the songs together did a terrible job XD

these are shortened versions of the songs on the album, and, no this is not in anyway soothing. some of the beats and effects are too jarring

the music was nice but it was not soothing - it made me want to get up, and clean my room
NANAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
But this is tataru ?
these differ from the tracks slightly - weird things added like sfx, removal of notes, adding of notes, shorter songs, etc. Isn't truly representative
Am I the only one who doesn't find lo-fi soothing at all? It makes me anxious :( Not chill for me, maybe others will enjoy it though x
Same, constantly waiting for a drop to hit that is never going to arrive haha. Can appreciate it nonetheless
The drum is always mixed too loud for me. Makes my head hurt after a while
It's not that soothing
Could have just released the album here or on other streaming platforms - very dissapointing even majority of mixes :( ....
