Hi there! Amazing footage. We just sent an email but also writing here. We're currently in the process of creating a video about dark matter and how labs such as the Large Underground Xenon experiment are trying to detect it. The Large Underground Xenon experiment is built underneath the Homestake Mine in South Dakota and we were wondering if we could use a part of this clip. Thank you so much!
It has not changed that much since I lived here 70 years ago. I will visit in Sept 2022. I lived on Miners Ave right next to the open pit'. We played in THE OPEN PIT and took the Terryville Tunnel to the Ice Skating Rink so we could chase the girls from Deadwood. Fond memories THANKS from CURT BONDURANT.(BONE)..

Such cool perspective! Thanks for sharing Curtis! I wish access to some of it was more open and easier, would be neat to explore a bit!
Same for me. I lived on Fox Street. Had fun climbing that head frame in the early 60’s.
Hey that's some nice footage, and left me wanting to know a whole lot more about this open pit mine.
Awesome! That’s the whole goal!
I was very intrigued when I was there, a lot of amazing documentaries out there on it!
I just listened to a program on RadioLab that talked about this. Thanks for posting!
Absolutely!
It’s an incredible sight! And knowing it’s just the tip of the iceberg!!!
Wow. Incredible.
Thanks!
