That's exactly why "music suddenly stops oh no spooky" is a bad trope that detracts from a lot of horror. Not only does it blatantly signal "Hey, here's the scary part, make sure to get scared, okay?" but it doesn't make sense from an in-universe standpoint. Just got done watching the latest (non canon) TWF episode, when I got news that this came out. Looks like Halloween wasn't going to be so bad after all.
The ending of this video’s pretty reminiscent of Midnight Movie from Eventide Media Center, only it’s a delicious pizza instead of insecticide spray made specifically for arachnids.
Stylistically, this was a very strong video. Good pacing. Unfortunately, it sort of fell apart in context with the others. Once again, you're telling us the HOW of what's going on, the maggots that are squirming under the flesh that is the presentation. And that... that takes some of the edge off it. Nothing is Scarier. Don't show us the fine details. Show us the effects upon the world, the way people react to it, the unexplained phenomena; don't let us see what's causing it until the end.
Damn this is good! This is the kind of analog horror I like, I love me a good cosmic horror story. Also I'm getting big Gemini Home Entertainment vibes but this is still something different. 👍
