Im 30 yrs old now and ill ask my sons homies if they know who Jeremy wray is...you be suprised how many dont know him. The great thing is nine club putting him back on the map
He raised the bar and showed it was possible
Absolute legend. Skating all through the 90’s and into the 2000’s, JW was always my favorite to watch. Such a powerhouse.
I have this photo from the mag signed by him. Met him at an Element signing back in '02ish. If skateboarding had a "Class Act" legacy award, it would go to him.

Fuck yeah. Markovitch part was so good. J Wray and Markovitch were so ahead of their time it was insane. Switch backside heel (JW) and Rick flip (KM) down the stairs at Embarcadero was unbelievable in 93.

411 issue 1 Intro was dope, fat ollie off the hump just did it for me, shooooo classic it hurts 👌🏼
When we first went there for the double the pavement was rough and just looking at the top.of the triple blew my mind. At the contest it was so much smoother and also just so insane. Seeing jeremy in the transworld in '99 🤯 think mason and a few others now could get enough speed without a ramp. The gap is so long it boggles my mind.

It's crazy hearing this intelligent guy talk. He doesn't sound like the kind of guy that would throw himself over the giant gaps he did. Total badass!
I looked at a thing he ollied in Barcelona, near sants. Off a fountain ledge over a looong gap and down a 3stair kinda. It's fucked. I just stood there. I walked it. Some of these gaps are so fucking huge.
Oh yeah I remember skating that spot for a few hours one day (not the gap obviously). Came back to the hotel and realized it was that spot. Went back a few days later just to look at it again and kinda did what you did haha. So unreal

It boggles my mind how many tricks went down the triple set during that contest. Spots are so much bigger in person but watching this clip I would guess it's at least 7 feet tall and 20 - 25 feet long.

It trips me out that he looks like Jamie Thomas with that mustache. Imagine being the idiot at Transworld who didn't give jeremy a camcorder for an hour. If he came in and I was working there I'd be like "fuck whatever we're editing", frisbee whatever tape was in it and go with him to shoot it.

Enzo also did a perfect Hardflip in that contest down the triple. And the Phelps gave out cash to everyone else but Enzo, shouted out everyone but Enzo, and acted like it didn't even happen when he damn well knew it did. Pretty damn disrespectful and not cool.
