To me it's a simple fix. Cap the field at the absolute highest number feasible. Growing up in the late 90s to 2000s that number was 43 cars. the purse money will always have 43 cars in mind. If 50 cars show up then the slowest 7 go home. If 40 show up then the purse for 41,42,43 is kept by Nascar for maybe another expense or purse. Now regarding the 36 charter teams. They should get bonus money from Nascar at the end of the year that distrutes all profits from the season to the teams. Obviously non charter teams don't receive this money. I also believe Nascar drivers should have a salary cap like other sports. It'll help with team costs and sponsor costs.

I would LOVE to see Dale bring his JR Motorsports to CUP. I know Dale and Denny are good friends and it was Dale who had discovered him and brought him to his first NASCAR even at Daytona back in the early 2000's. Maybe with Denny's push to help these teams succeed (Eric Estepp has had some great videos about what Hamlin's doing on his channel) Dale will move his team into cup. It would be great for the future of the sport.
Great conversation. I love seeing guys like Denny away from the track talking about racing or whatever else and in this case it's about NASCAR as a business. Very enlightening. Definitely changes my perspective sometimes on drivers that I may not be a big fan of but realize they are great people.
Let qualifying be open to anyone. Top 36 or 40 or what ever number of people from qualifying race. Even if you where last years champion and you don’t qualify high enough you don’t race. That’s the way I think they should go
They had the past champion’s provisional good for at least 7 races a year. You don’t think the past Cup champion from the year before would be unable to qualify for more than 7 races?
Big fan of Dale Jr. (and his father before that). But I would rather that the Earnhardts remain focused on the Xfinity teams. Until/unless Hendrick, Childress, Gibbs, or Petty downsizes or quits the Cup series, then it makes no financial sense for the Earnhardts. Yes, new teams have started like Hamlin's, Track House, ect. But as far as I know, those new teams do not currently have any teams in Xfinity. I could always be wrong.😁
To a point I think Charters ruined everything. You have teams that want to expand from 2 to 3 or 4 cars and you have new teams that want to come into the Cup series. They won't though, because the charters, you have to pay 10-12 million dollars for a charter, if not more, when there's charters available. Sure without the charters people like Chase Elliott may not make the race, due to issues in qualifying, but that's part of racing. Although you can't really get rid of the charters now, because teams spent 10+ million dollars for them.
@@easyenetwork2023 It was an example, that something like that could happen without a charter system. The former championship thing wouldn't work to well though, because Matt Kenseth could come back racing without a Charter and he wouldn't get a spot, he'd have to race/qualify his way in even though he is a former champion.
It is so money driven now. Charters changed everything. Not a fat of them at all. Back in the 80's Kenny Schrader won the pole for daytona, the next week he failed to qualified, hendrick had to by a ride for him. Thats the way it should be, in my opinion
Denny is going to be a great car owner not just for himself, but for all these teams. He's really been speaking out in support of the business model for these NASCAR owners to make it and succeed. Not a fan of his driving style on the track, but I'm all for the Denny Hamlin owner and what he's doing for the sport. Being one of the veterans in the sport, he's really speaking out for the garage area. We don't see Kevin Harvick (who's become very quiet) or Kyle Busch ( who just seems to be too inmature) stepping up. So Denny is a good veteran presence for these guys.
drew1212, Dale Jr, and Kelley, have both stated that the Cup series is a huge financial process to enter in order to find success. JRM has done quite well in the Xfinity series as has Dale Jr. Dale Jr did fairly well in the Cup series, but it was funded by others. DEI had a great future until gold-digger greedy Teresa took over. Dale Jr, and Kelley, tried informing her that she was going in the wrong direction, but Teresa cared less about their opinions and business experience. Teresa knew nothing about business ethics, nor cared. With her, it was always about money for herself. She had it all and destroyed it. DEI now no longer exists.
Go back to 'run what ya brung' and the sport grows. NASCAR is stagnant right now and part of the reason why is the comfort that the charter system provides.
Hey 😌😂 Tom this is Jeff yoder the ol'broke down scooter tramp (ex-biker) and you sir have just made the best statement about how to save Nascar and possibly bring it back to at least what is today
The teams are looking for the next champion but then NASCAR neglects the development series lol The Allstar race was a clear sign NASCAR couldnt manage a Walmart deli
Was listening to this on Spotify. I think the clash and the all star race should be held at tracks /markets that might be up and coming or tracks that have shown the most improvement over the previous year.
Not really. With the charter, you still have more competitive teams and they actually have a value them that can be sold or traded without losing as much money.
Denny probably owns like 10% of 2311 racing Jordan is the one paying the bills and as for Jr just stay in the ixfinity series since you're pretty much dominating it already
Money side you are right, but Denny is much more involved in the business decisions. Jordan is more like an investor rather than owner. Other than that he isn't talking about this only thinking about himself. People can hate him on the track, but when it comes to his thoughts on business and growing nascar he isn't doing it for selfish considerations. He legitmately wants to grow the sport
From what I understand, Jordan got some of the sponsors with the BLM movement. Jordan is a businessman, Denny really wasn't. Someone had to educate him about car ownership.
@@nascar88gyrl Jordan got a lot of the sponsors because of pre-existing relationships. And overall yeah he is an experienced business man. But in terms of the inner workings of Nascar it is Denny handling those operations. Of course he himself is not that experienced so he has help. Jordan is probably paying the vast majority of costs, and probably makes the high level decisions. Its like old monarchies when you had a king and a prime minister
It'll be smart for JR Motorsports to go cup. Sponsors won't be an issue cuz of name recognition and it'll bring back the fans that NASCAR lost and new fans.
From the 60’s until stage racing and race for the chase I could have named most drivers in the top two series. Today, I don’t really watch but love the old stories from Dirty Mo Media! Make the scoring where the fan base doesn’t need more than “bar napkin” to score a race! Do better NASCAR!
why do you care? you can see who won, you see where everybody finished, you see the stages, why do you have to "score the race"? they tell you what the points are.... do you plan to dazzle them with your napkin skills? I personally couldn't care less about the ultimate point score. the points get reset several times anyway. as long as your guy occasionally wins a race, all is well. Points are bogus anyway. nobody cares if you are 33rd or 34th in points. no, really. Nobody cares.
I think there should be 43 cars 36 Starters and 4-7 ( 40-43 ) qualifying to get in every week and the Winner has always got to make $ . No matter what. Even if it’s something like if 1 of those 4-7 Qualifiers happens to finally Win 1 then they get a larger payout, something like that Because Winner has always got to make $ , especially if 1 of those cars somehow pulls that off. They got to make $ just to race for it to even be worth going out to battle for final 4-7 qualifying spots. I think it should be 43 cars. We need more cars out there 44, 45 , even 50 would be dope.
I thik the charter should possibly also be performance based. It doesnt seem fair for some one to hold a spot and run last every week for multiple seasons.
Always liked looking in the Sports section of the paper back in the 80's and seeing what each driver made for that particular race. Was more amazed the Joe Blow took 3rd and made hundreds of thousands less then the Hot shot who DNFed. Why don't they show the pay outs anymore?
What I think is being missed is that if Jr Motorsports come in, will the fact that it is Dale Jr name on the door attract more spectators. More spectators, more income, less of a bite out of someones share of the pie. That surname is legendary, same as Petty. Both are gold.
From watching replays in the 60s on Wide World of Sports to watching on ESPN to going to a few races to now not watching at all. I subscribe to DIRTVision and Floracing and it seems like every week I see more and more young NASCAR drivers running events on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. No commercials during racing and the drivers, announcers and event staff seem to genuinely appreciate the fans. You won't see 2 cars going down the front stretch, side-by-side with 1 or 2 wheels off the ground during a NASCAR race!
So essentially the charter system cost them 8 to 10 teams. 45 to 50 showing up to qualify now down to 36... essentially due to selling there souls to FOX and NBC. Theres a lesson about greed in this. Anyways it was good to hear Hamlin acknowledge how many great drivers there are out there running Saturday nights that we will never hear of because of how much racing costs, even at the short track level...yet they found a way to give Danica a ride.
@@easyenetwork2023 NASCAR has not been good for a very long time. I too was a long time fan but I can not stand it now at all. The more I know about how NASCAR is run makes me hate it even more...
First off I'm not a Denny Hamlin's fan but I got to admit he's got some brains when it comes to the business of racing listening to Danny and Dale pretty amazing and Danny's right for change Earnhardt jr. Will not get into the Cup racing aspect because he won't make any money and he'll spend Millions NASCAR needs to get there s*** together because NASCAR needs that name Earnhardt in NASCAR
Richard Childress brought Jeffrey Earnhardt because its profitable to have a Earnhardt in a car that is black and #3 ..I was wondering if Richard waiting for Dale Earnhardt mom to pass away to bring the black 3 car back?
Hamlin is just realizing how expensive it is for the owners and how much revenue has been reduced in recent years. Now he's crying for more money that currently goes to the track owners which will further hurt the sport.
See when Denny explains stuff like this and uses his words it makes sense. When he goes on Twitter I just tune him out. His biggest problem is that no one takes him seriously because of how he acts on Twitter. He's not dumb, but it's all about crafting what you have to say so that it has an impact versus an eyeroll. It's good you guys had him on so he could actually articulate his points.
How bout do away with charters, you show up and qualify with what you got ,either you make it on time or not , the way it was , way to complicated nowadays, I'm gone after 30 years watching
I want that too. Unfortunately sponsors want a guarantee that spending all that money gets them in the show every week. I'm not giving a race team 20 million on a maybe that they might make the race that week.
It would be cool to see JRM go to the Cup. It would be almost like two HMS’s. LOL. Lifelong HMS fan here. Although Rick would have to sell out his stake in the current Xfinity team otherwise a Cup entry would be considered a 5th HMS entry which is not allowed. People have argued with me about this before but Rick does have an ownership stake in it. Google it if you don’t believe me.
JRM should be in the cup and they need to find away to get in. And get rid of the driver limits like Xfinity! If a team wants more than 4 drivers they should be allowed more it’s their money and if they can afford it they should be allowed more than 4! This will allow some very good drivers stuck in the Xfinity series to move up.
It's a sin Garrett Smithley didnt have a ride this year. He never wrecks or breaks stuff. Online he was always racing at the front. Let teams buy a 1/4 charter. like Hendricks can use it for 8 Gibbs use another 8 races.
Nascar has become a millionaires club just like some of the teams in the nhra and I use to watch every race of both since 1980 till about 2014 and I haven't watched a race since then.
I know NASCAR operates differently, but for years now car counts have dwindled in racing. I'm 100% sure, Hannah could corroborate this due to the fact she sees it first hand with the WoO Late Models. BTW, Brandon Sheppard can take Denny to the promise land for sure.
do you f****** understand the charter system? the charter system gives the owners something of value to sell. look at what former majority owner of RPM got from GMS racing when they bought the 2 charters
Get rid of the charters. The whole point of them was so that big teams/drivers were locked into the race and to have something of 'value' to sell if they wanted. The race team itself should be of value. Not the spot on the grid. Go back to guaranteeing the top X number of cars from owners points like it used to be. And stop with the awarding money as a guarantee. If a new team comes in and starts kicking ass, they should earn the race winnings they deserve. Performance doesn't mean anything if the 30th place car earns the same as the winner. As Hamlin said, F1 has the same mentality and the same issue.
I agree. The charters keep future owners and small teams from entering and trying to he competitive. Charters are an unnecessary expense for team owners. We KNOW the Hendricks, Gibbs, Trackhouses and the Childresses are making the field. BUT if you wanna look at it strictly from a competitive standpoint, nobody should be locked in and guaranteed to race even with owners points. From a business standpoint, it hurts sponsorships. Imagine if Joey Logano missed a race because he blew a tire in qualifying and crashed. Yea it would bring that entertainment/wow factor to the sport but it ain’t good from a business standpoint. Thats why I believe the top 35 rule should’ve stayed. Plus it would make the Spires, Rick Wares and MBMs actually be competitive instead of qualifying 30th on back and riding around. Plus having charters makes qualifying pointless since we know all 36 or 37 cars are in. Im sure if Chase Elliott started 35th, he could drive his way up and win. Thats why when we had the top 35 rule, teams like Nemco, Tommy Baldwin Racing, and Front Row (before now) were actually forced to be competitive even though they weren’t doing better than mid pack. Getting rid of charters would make teams like Trackhouse, 23XI, RFK, RCR, and Penske be able to afford to field more cars, whether its part time or full time. Plus that would open the door for 43 car fields to return and actually have more cars attempt to qualify. I remember the Daytona 500 would have 50+ cars attempting for 43 spots and have like 15 cars miss the field.
The team has to have value to make sure the business model makes more sense. It has attracted new ownership which is a good thing. Sponsors have to have some guarantee they will get 36 races a year at least.
you can't tell me that Earnhardt Jr buying new charters would dilute the revenue for everyone else. His presence back in Cup would bring in millions on millions of dollars that would be shared among the rest of the group.
There’s enough charters. Problem is they’re owned by teams like spire, Rick ware, bj McLeod who either run 30th or worse or run development teams like RWR. Every charter team should have a full time driver and I would argue spire and Ware only need one a piece. That frees up two more there.
Here’s a novel idea: if nascar wants the best competition and racing, leave technology and innovation to other racing series. Make an equivalent salary cap and find a balance of spec vs in house
Totally agree. The salary cap was the best thing to happen to the NHL. Makes it more then how much money you can throw at it. It will help with drivers purse as well. Less money being pumped into being quicker means more money in your pocket.
Can't really salary cap a Nascar team it would have to be an organization like all of Hendricks or JGR for that to work then you wouldn't have powerhouse teams with 4 championship level drivers
Since you left fulltime on track, I havnt followed the races often, But I watch your podcasts, watch how your nationwide series cars are doing. Nascar, wake up! Denny said it best “A legend wants in” but cant because of current financial bubbles that Nascar can change. I know for one, if you Dale, come into the top series with a team, all Jr nation will bump ratings up and watch every dang race (or close to it). The top series needs Dale. Even if its not him in the cars. If he is the team owner of a car or 2, that would be enough. Nascar change your payouts! You will regret it. Also: Denny I am very impressed with you and the way you speak, also congrats on your first team owner win. Kurt fan or not, to see both your emotions/joy was a tear jerker and much deserved. Congrats Kurt And Denny
So I love what Denny is saying but I do have one problem with him saying the sponsor money may not be there just because he has a co-owner who has a brand that a is a billion dollar company. So he has a brand that could easily brand these cars for many years to come
All these Hamlin haters but I Love Hamlin. I always Love The 11 JGR has the best squad My All Time Favorite Driver is 18Kyle Then Truex , Blaney , Chase , Kurt , Denny , B Rad
It’s a embarrassment to see the Top NASCAR Series having full-entries only at the 500 and like 36/37 cars in other races. All teams should be in NASCAR with no charter
It is good as it gives something of value to the team owners when they sell. look at what former RPM majority owner got for selling his 2 charters to gms racing. he got money back for his investment

Dale, RUclips recommended your channel to me which is why I watched this episode. I grew up watching you and your father in racing and was a huge fan. However, ever since NASCAR jumped into the PC pond, their decision to eliminate a traditional flag, and the pathetic Bubba Wallace incident regarding a fake noose that he knew was nothing more than a garage door rope; then watching all the teams being forced to parade down pit row as Drama Queen Baby Wallace cried on the hood of his car, I decided that I would never watch another NASCAR race again. I, and tens of thousands of other once loyal fans will not put up with these theatrics any longer. Now listening to what you and Denny were discussing and NASCAR's eagerness to throw a yellow in hopes for a dramatic finish even solidifies my reasoning to stay away from this phony pathetic organization. I truly hope that NASCAR fails as an organization so it may rejuvenate and come back as a more common sense sport again. My best to you and your family. Trace
You stated this perfectly. I attended every second Daytona race from Oct. '98 til July 2013, as well as several others: Bristol night races in 2001-2002, etc. Used to watch every weekend.......the Bubba Wallace incident was the last straw. No room for PC bullSHIT in sports, especially NASCAR.
Nascar tracks are basically owned by two groups, or was, Briton Smith and Nascar itself. Dover was the only independent track on the schedule as of about 10 years ago. I don't know if things have changed and maybe a little with the road course additions but I doubt it. Indy is owned by Penske for example now, but unless it's wildly changed since I've stopped paying attention Bruton Smith and Nascar own most tracks.
Yes I had clints money won , until Brisco pull that rookie mistake, then i thought I was still gonna pull it off then comes that #3 car from out of no were and we all know when you see that number on the side of the car You know it want be a good turn out for the other driver! But DAM I was close!!
Homestly I think that if you have a charter & not performing/contending then you lose it & have to compete to earn it back against others who want it also.
right now you can lose a charter if you're in the bottom three of the charter teams for 3 years. should it change yes but can only change when they renew the agreement
He lost me when he used Andretti Autosports as his defense. He even shoots himself in the foot by saying F1 makes over a billion dollars per year. When your sport/industry makes over a billion dollars a year and has competitors investing hundreds of millions of dollars into their cars, then yeah the teams/companies are going to be upset when another US backmarker joins the sport. Personally, I don’t see why Andretti doesn’t just partner with Haas to make one mega US team, and possibly attract more US motorsports figures to all go in together, rather than start his own team that is going to be at the back of the grid for years to come. Anyways, going back to Hamlin, based off this interview, he doesn’t seem to have a grasp on where NASCAR is at. When you have tracks across the country tearing down grandstands along the backstretches because fans aren’t showing up, you need to be encouraging people to compete as much as possible. If they want to make things interesting, yet still keep a somewhat charter system, why not model the charter system similar to that of European soccer leagues: each year you have 20 or 30 charter positions, and at the end of each year, the bottom 3 or 4 teams are booted out of the charter and the 3/4 best non-charter teams, become charter members. NASCAR is all about making anything more competitive (ie stage points, cautions at the ends of each stage to bunch the field back up, a wacky playoff system, etc) that you’d think they’d be all on board with this. However, I still think more money should be given to non-charter teams regardless.
I miss the days of open invitation racing when you had 80 plus cars show up for the Daytona 500 or even the Indy 500....it was like all the surprises and "whose going to show up" excitement for the race fan.......knowing what you end up with at each race has no surprises anymore.......
Denny said about looking for the next talent to take them to the promise land. Pretty hypocritical of him when he chose Bubba as a driver for his team. Bubba will never take Denny to the promise land. LMAO!!

I wish Jr. would start his own NASCAR type racing series.
That’s the way I think they should go
The way sponsors work today, and selling one off races, I just don't think it's a viable option currently

It would be awesome to see junior and Kelly put a cup team together. Maybe one day.
Jeff, see my comment above 👆🏼
Top 35 in points used to make the race regardless of Q back in the day. So that wouldn’t be an issue
@@justinreedracing6213 Yeah good point, I forgot about that.
Why would Chase not make the race without charters in Cup, he is a former champion.
@@easyenetwork2023 It was an example, that something like that could happen without a charter system. The former championship thing wouldn't work to well though, because Matt Kenseth could come back racing without a Charter and he wouldn't get a spot, he'd have to race/qualify his way in even though he is a former champion.
Good to hear straight talk from 2 of the best ever drivers who are now involved in the other side of the business. 👍👍✌️
It is so money driven now. Charters changed everything. Not a fat of them at all. Back in the 80's Kenny Schrader won the pole for daytona, the next week he failed to qualified, hendrick had to by a ride for him. Thats the way it should be, in my opinion
So they spent double money then. The charter still allows teams to create value for their team when they sell it though.
Really enjoyed listening to their conversation,it was very interesting❣❤❤❤🥰
Hello beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Denny is going to be a great car owner not just for himself, but for all these teams. He's really been speaking out in support of the business model for these NASCAR owners to make it and succeed. Not a fan of his driving style on the track, but I'm all for the Denny Hamlin owner and what he's doing for the sport. Being one of the veterans in the sport, he's really speaking out for the garage area. We don't see Kevin Harvick (who's become very quiet) or Kyle Busch ( who just seems to be too inmature) stepping up. So Denny is a good veteran presence for these guys.
Hello beautiful
I would love Jr Motorsports to field cup cars.
drew1212, Dale Jr, and Kelley, have both stated that the Cup series is a huge financial process to enter in order to find success. DEI now no longer exists.
charter prices come down
@@johnhaas2523 Not likely.
Go back to 'run what ya brung' and the sport grows. NASCAR is stagnant right now and part of the reason why is the comfort that the charter system provides.
You're absolutely right
Hey 😌😂 Tom this is Jeff yoder the ol'broke down scooter tramp (ex-biker) and you sir have just made the best statement about how to save Nascar and possibly bring it back to at least what is today

We just saw the future displayed here. Nascar needs to listen to these conversations to make a product the fans will want to watch.
Sponsorship in racing has always been a mystery to me. Every potential sponsor is looking for something different
Was listening to this on Spotify. I think the clash and the all star race should be held at tracks /markets that might be up and coming or tracks that have shown the most improvement over the previous year.
I miss when it was 43 cars. Seemed like the backmarker drivers and teams that didn't start and park obviously were way better
Not really. With the charter, you still have more competitive teams and they actually have a value them that can be sold or traded without losing as much money.
I really enjoyed this interview. Got a peek behind the curtain as to what team owners deal with.
Like any business..."oh the owner must be rich" clearly not the case.
This is what I appreciates about y'all
I think there should be 43 cars
36 Starters and 4-7 ( 40-43 ) qualifying to get in every week
and the Winner has always got to make $ . No matter what.
Even if it’s something like if 1 of those 4-7 Qualifiers happens to finally Win 1 then they get a larger payout, something like that
Because Winner has always got to make $ , especially if 1 of those cars somehow pulls that off.
It is, but there are loopholes that need to be closed.
It’s up to Junior and Kelley
How are you doing today
So essentially the charter system cost them 8 to 10 teams. 45 to 50 showing up to qualify now down to 36... essentially due to selling there souls to FOX and NBC. Theres a lesson about greed in this. Anyways it was good to hear Hamlin acknowledge how many great drivers there are out there running Saturday nights that we will never hear of because of how much racing costs, even at the short track level...yet they found a way to give Danica a ride.
This is just one of the reasons why NASCAR lost me as a fan after 40+ years, so sad what its become 🙁

Back in the 60s and 70s sure but corporate sponsorship is not going to sign on to that or will not spend the money

Although Rick would have to sell out his stake in the current Xfinity team otherwise a Cup entry would be considered a 5th HMS entry which is not allowed. People have argued with me about this before but Rick does have an ownership stake in it. Google it if you don’t believe me.
I havent watched since b4 stages, when jr was racing...miss it
NASCAR isn’t about the racing anymore. Unfortunately it’s about the money and that’s all .
Danny thanks for dumbing it down for us slow nascar fans
JRM should be in the cup and they need to find away to get in. And get rid of the driver limits like Xfinity! If a team wants more than 4 drivers they should be allowed more it’s their money and if they can afford it they should be allowed more than 4! This will allow some very good drivers stuck in the Xfinity series to move up.
It's a sin Garrett Smithley didnt have a ride this year. He never wrecks or breaks stuff. Online he was always racing at the front. Let teams buy a 1/4 charter. like Hendricks can use it for 8 Gibbs use another 8 races.

The problem wouldn't exist if the charter system didn't exist in the first place.

I know NASCAR operates differently, but for years now car counts have dwindled in racing. I'm 100% sure, Hannah could corroborate this due to the fact she sees it first hand with the WoO Late Models. BTW, Brandon Sheppard can take Denny to the promise land for sure.
36 cars isn't enough. 7 less cars on track is a very noticeable from a fan perspective. Let's get more quality cars on track
More quality = less shitboxes
They never had beyond 30 cars capable of winning before. Now you have 25 - 30 cars capable of winning a race because more cars finish in the lead lap.
Why do you need a charter to race what happened to going to the track and qualify to get in. If you don't qualify you don't get in
do you f****** understand the charter system? the charter system gives the owners something of value to sell. look at what former majority owner of RPM got from GMS racing when they bought the 2 charters
Yes!!!!!! Yes!! 1000 times yes!!
you can't tell me that Earnhardt Jr buying new charters would dilute the revenue for everyone else. His presence back in Cup would bring in millions on millions of dollars that would be shared among the rest of the group.
Where can I watch the whole podcast? I cant find it anywhere
don't exist as what on peacock cut down to 30-45 minutes
There’s enough charters. Problem is they’re owned by teams like spire, Rick ware, bj McLeod who either run 30th or worse or run development teams like RWR. Every charter team should have a full time driver and I would argue spire and Ware only need one a piece. That frees up two more there.
spire is not the best team but they are trying more so than BJ
Ole Jr slipped up and was about to say 5 million. So I'm guessing a Charter may cost 5 million? It was 2:33 he says it.
That might be close. Heard around 8-10 million, so $5 million is probably close.
Hey Denny has a whoop on, I have a whoop on, I’m basically Denny Hamlin guys

I would like to know how the track owners have grown to dictate how Nascar is run and at how tracks are chosen.
Yes I had clints money won , until Brisco pull that rookie mistake, then i thought I was still gonna pull it off then comes that #3 car from out of no were and we all know when you see that number on the side of the car
You know it want be a good turn out for the other driver! But DAM I was close!!
Stupid question, why doesn't NASCAR buy back the charters and just make every position a open position again?
I miss the days of open invitation racing when you had 80 plus cars show up for the Daytona 500 or even the Indy 500....it was like all the surprises and "whose going to show up" excitement for the race fan.......knowing what you end up with at each race has no surprises anymore.......
innovation is what killed the sport as far as cost
