  • We test the ECOVACS DEEBOT X1 OMNI for 100+ days to find the good, the bad, and the ugly. What does it do best? And what's it bad at? Our extended 100 day test finds out.
    Buy X1 OMNI - www.amazon.com...
    ECOVACS’s latest robot vacuum and mop, the DEEBOT X1 OMNI, showcased fantastic performance across all of our tests. It had 96.5% overall debris removal in our cleaning tests, scrubbed a good amount of dirt and debris while mopping, and managed long hair and pet hair with ease. Additionally, it expertly navigated obstacle avoidance tests and fully cleaned our 1,000 sq. ft. office in 40-50 minutes. Most impressive is the OMNI station, which can empty, wash, fill, and dry your robot for you.

    The iLife Shinebot system seems to be the best option for mopping. Put down clean water, scrub, extract dirt water sort of like a robotic Bissell Crosswave

    A nice thorough review. It looks as if Ecovacs has listened to you. I see the Omni X2 has just been announced with ..... liftable mopping pads. It also has a really interesting new design that is square to better get into corners but even more interesting (to me) has stepped away from the single spinning Lidar on top to a dual 270 degree Liday array at the front to give it a lower profile.
    I hope they have also addressed 2 other issues you mentioned - particularly the non-removable mop tray - but even without that this definitely looks like an interesting new robot cleaner. Battery life isn't such an issue for me since I split my current Ecovacs T8 AIVI daily cleaning run into two separate tasks, a scheduled task to clean the living areas early in the morning while I am still in bed (and the loud bin emptying at the end acts as my second it-really-is-time-to-get-out-of-bed alarm!) plus a second scheduled task in the early afternoon to clean the bedrooms and bathrooms.
    I'll also be interested to see how high the X2 actually lifts its pads. I've seen criticisms of the S7 MaxV that it doesn't always have quite enough clearance to stop its lifted mopping pad from brushing the top of thicker-piled carpets and rugs so I wonder if the X2 is better in that regard.

      Indeed! I'm very excited to test the new X2. Hoping we can get one soon for testing. I would expect it'll be a significantly upgrade over the X1.

    Wow! I was about to buy X1 Omni. Thankfully decided to watch your video before clicking on Purchase.
    Battery life is fine for me as my apartment is just 12,00 sqft but mop attachment issue and hard manual cleaning of station is a pain.

    If X1 Omni found at around same price tag with Q Revo, which one would you choose ?

    How long was your actual running time when vacuuming and mopping? Spec says 140min but what is your real life experience please?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Год назад +2

      I would say 2'ish hours is about right.
      During our extended testing it would usually take around 6-8 hours to fully clean the home (2600 sq. ft.), taking 2 recharges during that period.

    If Omni costs $800 less than the S7 MaxV , would you still recommend S7?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Год назад +1

      Where do you see that the Omni is $800 less than the S7 MaxV?
      I'm seeing a $300 difference.
      At an $800 difference the Omni is arguably the better value choice, but at a $300 difference I would 100% go S7 MaxV.

      @@isaaclikesturtles7282 If it is indeed the model we tested then $700 is a good value.

      @@ModernCastle In canada the x1 omni is $999 at costco now while the maxv ultra is $2000, but that messy mop area in the omni is a turn off, need another robot to clean that 🤣

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  Год назад

      @@SteveBennet500 Oof...yeah $2K is just too much.
      $1K for the Omni isn't bad. But I'd still personally rather have a Narwal T10 (for mopping) + a more typical robot vacuum (Roborock S6 / S7 or Roomba i3 / i7 / j9 / s9).
