    Nice to see a new review of the 240 magnum, I've got one and had it when it was released, very reliable and powerful, one of the best looking too.

    Out of all the pistols I own and have owned this is probably the only one I don't regret selling. Don't know why but I couldn't hit anything with this thing. It was about 4.5 ft lbs in 177 but it jumped all over the place when I shot it. It was very well made and looked great. Maybe it was a one off but I couldn't wait to get rid of it.

    Great vid mate , what I find ridiculous about this country is if that crept over 6ftlbs it becomes sect 5 prohibited, but I can generate 50 ftlbs with a catapult, All the best mate 👍

    • @RealAirgunAdventures
      @RealAirgunAdventures  Год назад +2

      That's very true. I think it's because catapults aren't perceived as dangerous. Of course, there are plenty of rabbits that would say otherwise 😅

      @@Theshropshireratter what gets me after the 1968 firearms act is an air pistol over 6 ftlbs or an air rifle over 12 ftlbs can be classed as a firearm when no firepower is used to project a projectile, but a catapult producing 45 ftlbs and quite capable of killing a man is classed as a toy , no restrictions really unless causing alarm and distress,

    The trick to cocking a Webley pistol is to hold the barrel pointing down against your right shoulder with your left hand and bring the grip down with your right hand. This uses your powerful triceps which makes the effort easy. Similar cocking action, my 85yo Webley Junior is about half that power but it is still a brute to cock.

    I liked my Benjamin Trail NP pistol until it broke.

    I have just bought a boxed, mint condition Magnum in .177. Years ago I had the .22 version which wasn't very accurate in my hands. The .177 is better but it's not a target pistol by any stretch of the imagination. I know these pistols get a bad reputation for breach seal problems. My first one, the .22 had an oring which is pressed into the top lever and could fall out with use. The .177 I've just acquired uses a rubber ring, like a small tap washer, which is secured by a grubb screw and when tightened deforms into a larger oring which seals the breach. And there is the source of inconsistencies as after a few shots the seal does not always properly seal. My .22 was a mk1 and the .177 a mk2. Another problem which is often cited is the safety sometimes refusing to engage in the firing position. I've no idea what the cause of this fault is. Once the pistol has been fired, assuming the safety worked and clicked into the fire position, automatically springs back into safe after the pistol is fired.
    Despite their quirks these pistols did pack a punch for their small size. They are now a collectors item which are seldom seen for sale. As for an air pistol for every day use they are eclipsed by the HW45 in every way.
    Thanks for another great presentation.
