  • A little Video to start you in the right direction for Trolling Lures for Spanish Mackerel.
I run the deepest divers up close to the boat and the shallower divers further back
With the smaller profile lures we troll around 4 to 6kts
With a larger lure around 8kts
If your lure isn't swimming straight it only takes a pair of small pliers and a slight bend of the eye ring on the bib of the lure in the opposite direction to the way the lure is swimming off direction.
In this video i use the pre made wire as its just quick and easy around 40lb. However we usually make our own wire rigs from single strand.
We like to use Multi Colour braid that changes colour around every 10m this way we can judge exact were our lure sits in the water column behind the boat.
Use a few different colours and change it up a bit during the day if its quiet.
Good Starting point is find some bait schools or around your local reefs or ledges.
On our Local reefs we catch plenty of Spanish Mackerel and Spottie Mackerel from 8m of water to around 40m of water.
Also look for spikes in water temp this can fire them up....
Get out give it a go if its not working dont give up try something slightly different or maybe they just wernt on the bite that day
    Happy FISHING

    Hi mate
Going to give Spanish a go this week
    Never troll for them before
Did you just tie the braid to snap wire or do you run a leader
    Thanks mate 🍺🍺

If using Braid mate I always use a leader was using around 40lb Braid and 40lb leader in the video...
I'm not a fan of tying Braid straight to the tackle especially not in t
      Light Braid

Hey mate thanks for the tutorial what was the brand and specs of the premade wire trace you boys were using? Cheers, looking to troll a halco laser pro 160mm behind the kayak... do you think this will work?

He mate the wire can't remember the brand but was around 40lb and 12inch long in black...
Defenetly give it a crack behind the yak 2 rods be plenty enough around 30m behind

ALL Terrain Fishing thanks heaps mate, would heavy leader be better, or just stick with steel trace?

@@jacksonherald3405 mate I would stick to wire hate to lose a lure too the teeth. U can go down in wire size 27lb or buy a clear coated wire

Do you use a leader line before your wire trace

    • @allterrainfishing7510
      @allterrainfishing7510  4 года назад +5

Yeah mate around 30lb for spotties and 40lb for Spanish
      Roughly 40lb wire leader.
      Between 30 to 50lb braid
The bigger the lures the heavier the gear...
Most Spotties and Spanish be landed on 30lb to 40lb line without to may issues
