I love her. One of the most refreshing interviews I've ever seen. But honestly I feel like we need to stop bashing some side chicks. A lot of these women don't even know they're side chicks. I'm not saying I condone the behavior but most side chick situations start off with the guy approaching the girl and not being open and honest about his relationship status. Most of these men make women feel stupid for even questioning his status and when she finds out her feelings are already emotionally invested so it's harder to walk away. So she stays because it feels better than to let him go. She tries to mask it by calling her situation liberating but in reality she caught feelings and doesn't want to let go until someone better comes along so it won't be a big blow to her pride and self-esteem.

I’ve seen this interview thousands of times but it's Something about her I'm drawn to lol, Plus This is one of the best interviews that the breakfast club has done. They actually listened to the her music and asked her questions that made me understand her and her music more.

I think her insecurities came from her parents not talking to her... I never had to ask my mom or ask my friends was I pretty. My parents told me I was pretty, that I was strong and that I can do anything I put my heart into. As you get older you realize you have the good days and the in-between days and bad days. I'm sooo here for SZA.
I can relate and I think you're right about where it comes from, my parents never talked about loving myself or having confidence or even that any of that was important, just like her dad it was only ever about what I was going to DO. I love her. One of the most refreshing interviews I've ever seen. But honestly I feel like we need to stop bashing some side chicks. A lot of these women don't even know they're side chicks. I'm not saying I condone the behavior but most side chick situations start off with the guy approaching the girl and not being open and honest about his relationship status. Most of these men make women feel stupid for even questioning his status and when she finds out her feelings are already emotionally invested so it's harder to walk away. So she stays because it feels better than to let him go. She tries to mask it by calling her situation liberating but in reality she caught feelings and doesn't want to let go until someone better comes along so it won't be a big blow to her pride and self-esteem.
