Ive been using a second hand one of these for about 5 years now, i love it, its never broken, its never clogged, ive had to replace nothing on the airbrush, runs like new
I bought a new one yesterday. A newer model I think. Gave it a try this afternoon. Never used an airbrush before. I have a lot to learn 😅😅.. but it is not for a sunny afternoon in the backyard with a beer standing beside me 🤣🤣
I returned to model making last summer after a small break of about 30 years and I found that paint had moved on quite a lot in that time period and less used are the old heavy enamels and in are more acrylics and other paints that are more suited to air brushing. I tried brush painting and the results were anywhere between poor and bloody terrible, so I purchased this airbrush. I have to say that I really know very little about air brushes and their uses, but this air brush with its little compressor I found to be a great introduction into the foundations, yes there are limitations of it, the plastic air line is frustrating as hell, the compressor is on constantly etc etc, but it does exactly what you need it too as a beginner, teach you. It is very easy to clean, comes apart with the included spanner, I suggest purchasing a cleaning kit of Amazon for not a lot that comes with cleaning rods, brushes etc. I have since moved on to a Iwata with a Sparmax compressor, but the little Revell is now being used almost daily by my son to airbrush Gundams.

When I started this hobby as a beginner two years ago I started with a normal brush and Revell aqua paints and their thinner. Did 3 kits with their stuff and for a brush their paint I think is good as it's sticky, holds well and it covers your paint area quickly. However, when I got my Evolution airbrush from HS their paint gave me such a headache and made me almost regret getting an airbrush. Constant dry tipping on a 0.4 needle and very inconsistent paint flow when it worked. It was almost impossible to do any detailed work as the airbrush was just unpredictable. No matter how much of their thinner and pressure I still got the same issues. Some paint pots especially gloss paints were slightly better but generally it was a pain to use them. I think that there is something in their paint that makes it super sticky and it just holds for that needle and it does not let go easily despite all the thinning. In the end I switched to Mr. Hobby aqueous and never looked back. That stuff works like if it was lacquer paint and can even use 0.2 on low pressure for hours without dry tipping.
@@stevenrawlings4663 dry tipping is when the paint dries on the tip of the needle while spraying. This clogs the airbrush and it becomes unpredictable and inconsistent. Also it can suddenly splatter the paint on the model with a sudden rush of paint flooding one section of the model.
Very simple and basic airbrush, not too many parts to lose, break etc. Perfect starter kit for non modelling family members to buy for someone who is venturing into airbrushing. And as you progress and buy finer quality kit the Revell brush would be perfect for basecoats, gloss coats etc. Lovely shade of red too there👍🏼

I have used it since when i took it to someones house to spray with, it does travel well :) have a happy new year and if you could subscribe please, that really helps the channel
Damn ! I even watched this review a while ago and still made a mistake. I just bought the SP50K Classic Multi-Purpose Airbrush kit from airfix while quite tipsy, as it felt like a good idea at the time now I am a member of the club. No idea how to use a airbrush so will be scouring your channel when sober for all tips on how to use my new toy👍.
Nice review, Revell calls it a single action but a true single action brush has only the push down button. Seems what they did here was remove the valve piece at the bottom of the button to the hose in order to make air always flow for some reason. The brush is itself a dual action setup as I said the removed the airstop valve which you could probably quite easily add back to it from a cheap master set or old paasche or something.
Their reason to unscrew and remove the valve turning it into a "singe action" is no doubt due to the compressor pretty much having the same internals as the "cheap $50 chinese compressors". stopping the air flow by letting go of the trigger on the double action could cause the "piston" inside to fail. I have owned and opened one of those and the insides are very basic. While the one i used had a better "air regulator" offering a greater range in air flow, like this Revelle there's no way of actually knowing the air pressure being used. Just have to test and adjust along the way till you find a spot you like.
@@MOS6510Models That is correct. Single action brushes are more common with siphon feed air brushes. which let air out on pressing down the trigger and the air pulls the paint out. (paint just sprays out as soon as you press down.)
@@MrPolicekarim I would assume yes, but hopefully Revell used better parts. Decent motor and the housing for the piston or reed valve lasts longer. I could not find any schematics on it, so can't really know for sure till someone buys and opens one up.
After the final coat I always give it a mist coat of thinners (enamel thinners on enamel, acrylic thinners on acrylics, etc) & it melts out any joins or dry edges. I painted a Revell 1/24 33 Ford in Alclad II Ruby candy, had to give 3 coats of candy base (silver) then 7 coats of ruby & had quite a bit of orange peel after 10 coats but just sprayed some Mr Hobby levelling thinner on it & it melted it out like glass.
Bought one of the about five years ago, but haven't used it yet. I'm still using brushes and rattle cans. Now maybe I'll dig it out and get using - ! 😁
@@MOS6510Models Appreciate that. What's putting me off is having to clean out the gun between colours. Doing the entire model in a single colour is one thing, but doing say, camouflage colours on a WW2 German tank or a Hurricane is another. 😐
@@simongee8928 but you have a lot of time between colours as you have to let the paint dry before applying the next coat.. I have a quick way of cleaning out the gun.. ill do a video on it this week so you can see..
Good review. Got the kit myself a few months ago to step up my painting game. It is my first airbrush and lets me get the experience for a relatively low price. I picked it up for about 100 Euro. The one thing I noted is that when you took the nozzle of the other tip bit came out easily. With mine its seems as if it is a solide piece and can't seem to get it out which make cleaning it way more difficult.
is it work giving a gentle wiggle? mine was in quite far the first time i took it apart If you have a minute Christiaan Boer, can you please subscribe to the channel.. It really helps us with the youtube algorithm.. Happy Modelling
Maintenance note to anyone who's going to buy this Revell airbrush kit: Once you are done with your job and finished cleaning, run some water through to make sure there's no bubbles going back up to paint pot. Its terribly annoying, when you next time get it ready and then your paint starts bubbling everywhere. To get rid of it, always super-clean nozzle cover (i drop it whole into airbrush cleaner) and adjust needle by pushing it back by your nozzle. Ensure there's tight fit and screw it tight as well. Unfortunately, nozzle cannot be screwed in on this airbrush.
An excellent starter airbrush. This is definitely an airbrush I’m going to consider when it is time for me to step up to an airbrush. Thanks for the review.
I generally us a generic chinese $25 double action airbrush for planes and overall coats. I have a small 8gal compressor for my garage use, and I use that. I will say that the revell kit is far better than the first airbrush I ever got, way back in 1978.
I have one of those too, had lots of tip drying, think my mixture was too thick. After a couple of days fighting with it, it was allright. Nice unboxing !
yeah try to mix the paint so consistency is like milk If you have a minute Christiaan Boer, can you please subscribe to the channel.. It really helps us with the youtube algorithm.. Happy Modelling
Nice and informative video! I have just one question, i just got this airbrush but i have only revell email colours. Can i use them with the airbrush or is it only made for aqua colours?
Nice video! Appreciate the information. You might try maybe putting some paper down in your work area to handle the overspray. and help keep work area clean. Just a thought. Thanks for your input on the product.

I think the results you got are more to do with your airbrush skills combined with a good paint. You did well with something designed for ladies nails.
Thanks for a great informative video, I must say as a complete beginer I struggled with the dual action airbrushes, I bought the cheaper chinese ones and thought that was the reason for my poor results, then I bought a Japanese Mr Hobby one, better results, but not great, so I bought a basic Paasche single action, and by comparison it was much easier to get a reasonable finish. Using acrylics like the Revel ones was an absolute nightmare for me though, they seemed to dry too quick clogged everything and splattered, I get on better with enamels, but the fumes are terrrible. I have to wait for a decent day so I can spray outside, when using enamel.
Simple air brush to use and not bad coverage with a constant flow unregulated pump. Having owned a couple of cheaper airbrushes even some expensive ones. The bubbling at 15:00 is often caused by a blockage or fouling of the nozzle seal / seat even the Iwata and H&S brushes will suffer with this.
@@MOS6510Models the most frustrating part about them is diagnosing a bug. It was a fair test and i think you showed the capability of the system quite well.
I use Revell Aqua Color often. The paint consistency is different from paint pot to paint pot. Some are very thick. I simply thin until it looks right.
Thanks for the review. Personally I perfer using brushes tbh. I know generally you'll get a better finish with an air brush but I feel using an actual brush it's more like you've actually done it. But I can certainly see why people use air brushes
I agree. I exclusively do hand brush painting (for now) and it is very satisfying. There is still a lot of practice and technique into getting it as smooth as possible and it is still very fun. I want to get and try out an airbrush one day, but brush painting is still a ton of fun for now.
Great! the tutorial that I need it! How to load the paint and cleaning the airbrush. However I have some questions, I have the same Revell's airbrush then I would like to know, Is it possible to replace the hose and the gun?
The bloke has one of these has Changed the airbrush for a Duel action one. Myself I'm tempted by getting an airbrush but like the ease of cleaning of brushes and pushing my skills with the brush
You can pick them up for £75 from eBay or the generic equivalent for £55. I’ve picked one up for my desk, I’m luck I have a booth setup in my shed, but sometimes the weather stops me using that, so this stays at my desk for small jobs.
@@MOS6510Models Its good for what I use it for, I mainly use it for small jobs like cockpit painting. The actual airbrush is good quality certainly better then the unbranded Chinese airbrushes out there. The compressor isn’t great, but it is quiet. I wouldn’t want it as my primary setup and I’m only using it for acrylic painting.
I tried the basic voilamart kit could not get it to work for more than 30 seconds. I found loads of similar reviews so not just me! Trying another one soon....
Great video - I got back into modelling during lockdown after many years away and bought a starter kit very similar to the one in your amazon link. It helped me give airbrushing a go for the first time and while I subsequently bought a couple of "better" airbrushes the compressor is great and I still use it, can't see a reason to upgrade.
Good review. It's dandy for what it does. I've seen some RUclips videos on how to improve basic airbrushes. Maybe this would help this one out? Thanks for the review 😉
Fair review, airbrush and compressors are a minefield, I've got a fair compresser, running a cheapo airbrush. My airbrush has literally just failed, but what do you expect for 20 quid 🤔👍
I would of loved to have this when I was a child and hand painting models by brush, and I think this is still the intended use for this airbrush kit - 8 to 15 year olds getting it for Christmas. Revell in their catalogue offer better airbrushes and compressors that even a professional model builder would be happy to use. The needle size according to the catalogue is 0.5mm. Revell aqua is actually a very good quality paint only let down by the small choice of colours available. This leads to having to mix colours which doesn't help repeatability. I often mix it with Humbrol arcylics and Tamiya x20A thinner and it works a treat. It is a bit thick in the tub but hey, you need to thin it anyway and this way you get more paint.
If I ever where to use Revell's paint I would abiously use their enamel lineup. They are durable, they got real metal pigments in their metallics and also they can be thinned down 1:3 (70 thinner to 30 paint). This will make the paint wery smooth and you can spray wery thin lines with wery low overspray.
At first glance it looks quite good for like 90 euros, but first disadvantige is hose i think, but for beginner is excellent choice great video and happy new year! :)
Anybody know what the thread size is on the body of the airbrush? The reason I ask is that I'm wanting to try the Sparemax silver bullet pressure regulator. I've been using this airbrush for a few years now (being new to airbrushing at the time and not wanting to spend a fortune) and it suits my purposes nicely. I also like the way it packs into an tidy carrycase.
@@MOS6510Models No problem and not surprised🙂 - I've being tying to find out for ages with no joy😞. Have tried all sorts of model groups on FB to no avail. Thanks anyway.
Hey. Ive been thinking of using Airbrush but I need to know a few things. Have you used their spray cans? I havent checked your other videos but stumbled on this one when a site showed me this airbrush set. Ive been using the spray cans for a while now but this time when I was painting a gundam model kit, it filled up some details which I cannot recover anymore and now watching you paint your kits and seeing how well it turned out is making me get one too. The airbrush should be much better than a spray can right and how hard is it for a beginner of using an airbrush? Another thing I need to know are these translucent paint sucker things. Pretty sure they have a proper name but forgot immediately lol. What I wanna ask is that if you could use the same one for different colors like for example you use red first and then later use blue once the paint inside dried. Need to know that bc if in case the answer is no, I need to get a lot of them then. I think thats my final question but will update you with more and thats if a Surface primer is necessary. Is it possible to just paint over the existing color from the plastic without using one or do I really need to use it first. Great video btw
I got one as a present last year because I like modelling airliners . It should be good for gloss white fuselage top ie no visible brush strokes . But I have been frightened to use it because I don’t want to waste it by bunging it up with enamel . Really need to know how to clean it effectively. Also thought I needed a spray booth (cardboard box ) and maybe a mask . What do you think ?
Just use acrylics mate.. forget enamels.. clean up is easy with acrylics and you find its cheaper. Yes airbrush with a window open and make a both out of a cardboard box
This airbrush is quite easily taken apart and cleaned if you do bung it up, so don't let that put you off. It is easier if you have a cleaning kit that has cleaning brushes and push rods in it, I generally run it through with some water first to remove any wet paint in it, then put some Isopropal through it.
@@MOS6510Models just for for freehand airbrushing this paint is tricky. And i will use masking with tape and blue tack. For the rest it sprays beautiful and its resilient. Vallejo is fragile compared to revell aqua but vallejo have more colors. I try to avoid enamel and laquer paint for my health. Model paints evolution goes very fast last years.
I'm interested in something like this for spraying 3d printed models. As a total noob here, can I just ask is it possible to also spray a filler using a brush, prior to painting? Or is this a hard NO as it clogs the needle or something? I noted you used a spray can for the filler hence why I am asking. Also can anyone share any tips (links, brands, techniques) for painting 3d printed models please? Thanks!
My revell airbrush airbrush broke down after a few times, i didn’t really liked it. but the compressor was good But not realy worth it. I bought a much cheaper airbrush Wich worked better. Still a Nice video
Often called Pipettes or simply droppers. Look in the pound type shops in the UK, I often found them there with the craft items when I lived there. @@MOS6510Models thanks mos I have another question I can't really afford humbrol enamel thinners as money is very tight would I be able to use turpentine as a thinner for enamel paint as it goes really thick very quickly I had a Spitfire to paint brown but the enamel paint wasn't sticking to the model it was just getting moved around and wasn't drying I hadn't added any thinners it just ended up a complete mess ended up having to remove all the paint cleaned the model so paint would be able to stick but again it went on patchy dryied in some places but not on other pieces again was just like moving the paint around the model
@@sicknote1558 Im no expert t modelling but I’ve been at it many years and I do buy lots from pound shops. I can then keep my quality stuff for fine things. Pet shops, garden shops and DIY stores are great for dioramas too 😊
I have been making models for around 25 years, I have always wondered about an airbrush but the thing that puts me off is all the clean up! And after each colour. How much of that cleaner did you use and how much would you get through in one kit build? I almost bought a battery operated airbrush (£40ish) a couple of times but I always talk myself out of it and stick to hand brushes. All the best Anthony
I gave it a bigger clean as i wanted to put it into the box.. but i generally just wash thru and spray cleaner in between colours.. then a proper clean down and rebuild every 3 months
The airbrush itself will probably be alright but the rest of the stuff just put it away for maybe a spare incase your compressor packs up anytime! Used this and iwatas both terrible and loose alot of pressure when heat up and they heat up fast! It's like they just loose the PSI when it heats up probably pushing hot air I'm not sure but you'll see if you use it a few time's and see exactly what issues these thing's have! I worked it out spray for 20 mins on n off then leave for an hour to cool down or it starts to struggle to push any paints out and just sprays air out! I tested with vallejo and AK paints the iwata one was really bad! But they both worked great for the first week of purchase that's whare they tend to get you and if anyone is doing reviews! So maybe use it for a Fortnight and do an after Fortnight report on it and see if it's still working as good or if it's been killed! 😆 when I opened them up to see if any noticeable signs of faults they were basically the same insides as the airports in my aquarium! That's all they are tiny.rubber grommets only good for fish tank air filters!
I would say it’s a good thing to have extraction or a fan with a filter.. but as the very basic I would have a window open with good ventilation as the minimum
Hello sir ! According to your review this Revell airbrush might be a good kit to start painting with an airbrush ! I am actually thinking to get myself one, can we also use Tamiya paints with tamiya thinner and then use them with with this airbrush ? And for someone like me who has no experience with airbrushing, is it a good idea to start with this revell set ? Thank you for this excellent review, which may confort me in my future choices :)
I would recommend tamiya acrylics with their thinners x-20a.. also Vallejo and Hataka are excellent too.. like I said it’s a great airbrush but far to rich in price..
Wow, that price is criminal! For that price, you can pick up a cheap compressor with a tank and regulator, and an Iwata Revolution CR! And the fact that the compressor and brush don't have standard fittings means you can't grow with the setup. You'd have to replace BOTH to upgrade. Absolute waste of money, IMO.
It's ridiculously overpriced. I just ordered a fengda fe-183k airbrush, which comes with three nozzles and three cups (plus an air hose) for 26€. I already have another model, 180k. And these airbrushes are actually really good, of course not as good as some high end brands, but they are excellent value for the money. And I bet you can get a decent mini compressor from Amazon or Ebay relatively cheap. My point is that if you pay about 100£ for this, you are in essence paying tens of pounds for a plastic box and a couple of paint jars. Which are Revell Aqua Color, they are nice for brush painting, but most (myself incuded) people find them very hard to spray. Very often the paint is so thick it's paste like.
Absolutely spot on though i am impressed how the aqua sprayed.. i might be a slight convert.. saying that its a good starter set but just too rich for the beginner.. And you can buy something similar on amazon for 50 pounds
Revell aqua colour thinned with Tamiya x20A works perfectly for me. Mix it regularly with Humbrol arcrylics with said thinner and goes through my 183 very smoothly. Good for touch up with a brush afterwards if needed.
Cleaning and airbrush is easy and comes as second nature when you see the results. However a relative of mine uses brush only technique. He like me modelling all his life and quite happy.
Revell should really be ashamed of themselves. I've found an identical brush on Ali for literally 25 bucks, but it's better. Contemporary company policy - buy stuff in China, rebrand it, sell for x4 profit. Btw. don't buy "hobby" compressors, they are waaaaay overpriced and fall short in comparison to simple teflon compressors with a tank, which are really quiet. Hobby stuff is meant to rip off people, who are ignorant about equipment. Same story as with "gamer" equipment.
@@MOS6510Models Yeah. I have a 6l silent teflon compressor which I bought for 100 dollars and a Steenbeck 2 in 1 Ultra (two nozzle eedle sizes and two cups) for 90 dollars. You can probably get a decent quality Chinese double action brush for 25 bucks as well if you want to save money. IMHO it's the best budget setup with a quality that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out :) And the 6l tank allows you to produce a consistent stream of paint. It also has a pressure regulator.
What a joke from Revell...you can buy(at least in Europe) whole Fengda AS186 compressor + solid Fengda airbrush for that kind of money, and that will be miles better than this.

Let me know how you get on :)
Are you sure?? so the paint would just spay out as soon as you pressed down?
@@soggybrownpanda3375 so they re-cycled a design then?
Thats fantastic advice.. mind you i never use enamel lol
That would make the perfect travel airbrush setup, light weight small size great for model club nights.
Absolutely but you can buy similar for 50 quid on amazon
Bought one of the about five years ago, but haven't used it yet. I'm still using brushes and rattle cans. Now maybe I'll dig it out and get using - ! 😁

It’s a daunting step but once you’ve practiced a bit you will end up mastering it and never looking back
@@MOS6510Models Appreciate that.

With mine its seems as if it is a solide piece and can't seem to get it out which make cleaning it way more difficult.
is it work giving a gentle wiggle? mine was in quite far the first time i took it apart

I did wonder why my was bubbling slightly
Make sure you use deionised / distilled water to prevent possible scale buildup inside the spraygun.
An excellent starter airbrush. This is definitely an airbrush I’m going to consider when it is time for me to step up to an airbrush. Thanks for the review.
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful as I’m trying to get the hang of my new airbrush 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
I generally us a generic chinese $25 double action airbrush for planes and overall coats. I have a small 8gal compressor for my garage use, and I use that. I will say that the revell kit is far better than the first airbrush I ever got, way back in 1978.
probably wasnt gravity fed back in the 70's either lol :)
@@MOS6510Models nope, single action, siphon type. worked ok, but all we had was tester enamels in those days.
@@orbitalair2103 yeah sounds about right.. the thought of cleaning enamels from an airbrush.. no thanks lol
Not a bad entrance level product with some nice extras, not sure it's the best product in the world, but good enough to get going with
Well put. It's functional, and other options out there. Does what it says, works okay.
Just the price is a bit rich sadly...
I have one of those too, had lots of tip drying, think my mixture was too thick. After a couple of days fighting with it, it was allright. Nice unboxing !

It is!
I'm a big fan of Revell Aqua Color paints. The pigment is strong and they work really well through an airbrush, or for "hairy stick" painting.
Haha.. gotta love them hairy sticks
Nice and informative video! I have just one question, i just got this airbrush but i have only revell email colours. Can i use them with the airbrush or is it only made for aqua colours?
Yes you can but use enamel thinners to thin the paint a lot
Thanks for the video. Maybe I will get this set.
No problem!.. there are cheaper alternatives,, please do your research :)
Nice video! Appreciate the information. You might try maybe putting some paper down in your work area to handle the overspray. and help keep work area clean. Just a thought. Thanks for your input on the product.

I think the results you got are more to do with your airbrush skills combined with a good paint. You did well with something designed for ladies nails.
Thank you.. and yes its a basic set but a good one.. just too rich for the average beginner... which is a shame
I have to wait for a decent day so I can spray outside, when using enamel.
when you release the triger for the paint, keep your finger on the trigger for a second just to let the paint blow off the needle, hope this helps
Thanks for the tip.
Simple air brush to use and not bad coverage with a constant flow unregulated pump.
Having owned a couple of cheaper airbrushes even some expensive ones.
The bubbling at 15:00 is often caused by a blockage or fouling of the nozzle seal / seat even the Iwata and H&S brushes will suffer with this.
after the video i looked at the seals and they looked normal.. i did tighten up but still bubbles appear
Good to know! First time for me.. Plasmo uses it so it must have some merit to it
It works better than my Adler for 150PLN
fair enough my friend
Thanks for the review. Personally I perfer using brushes tbh. I know generally you'll get a better finish with an air brush but I feel using an actual brush it's more like you've actually done it. But I can certainly see why people use air brushes
I felt the same for years.. then I saw some great results and went fully into it.. dont get me wrong.. ive brushed painted many models since..
I agree. I exclusively do hand brush painting (for now) and it is very satisfying. There is still a lot of practice and technique into getting it as smooth as possible and it is still very fun. I want to get and try out an airbrush one day, but brush painting is still a ton of fun for now.
@@alexthibodeau979 and the clean up is a bit quicker too :)
Great! the tutorial that I need it! How to load the paint and cleaning the airbrush. However I have some questions, I have the same Revell's airbrush then I would like to know, Is it possible to replace the hose and the gun?
Yes you can buy replacement parts from Revell

Thanks, will do!
The bloke has one of these has Changed the airbrush for a Duel action one. Myself I'm tempted by getting an airbrush but like the ease of cleaning of brushes and pushing my skills with the brush
yes you could change it to dual
You can pick them up for £75 from eBay or the generic equivalent for £55. I’ve picked one up for my desk, I’m luck I have a booth setup in my shed, but sometimes the weather stops me using that, so this stays at my desk for small jobs.
Whats your thoughts on this matey? would love to know what you think.. I picked mine up on ebay for 80 opened but not used
@@MOS6510Models Its good for what I use it for, I mainly use it for small jobs like cockpit painting.
Trying another one soon....
yeah.. i can imagine, its the cost that puts people off
Great video - I got back into modelling during lockdown after many years away and bought a starter kit very similar to the one in your amazon link. It helped me give airbrushing a go for the first time and while I subsequently bought a couple of "better" airbrushes the compressor is great and I still use it, can't see a reason to upgrade.
Very cool! Only upgrade the brush.. amzn.to/3zfPA5N is my recommendation to a new airbrusher and very reasonably priced.
Good review. It's dandy for what it does.
I've seen some RUclips videos on how to improve basic airbrushes. Maybe this would help this one out?
Thanks for the review 😉
Thanks for the tip! Its the price that puts me off
Can you buy different parts to like a nozzle and needle to make the diameter of the paint smaller
i dont think so sadly
Fair review, airbrush and compressors are a minefield, I've got a fair compresser, running a cheapo airbrush. My airbrush has literally just failed, but what do you expect for 20 quid 🤔👍
Thanks for sharing.. I recommend this Harder Steenbeck Ultra Airbrush Gun amzn.to/3ez2GS5
Another great video MOS, what was that hairy grey thing bobbing about in front of the camera do you have a pet badger?
had strands of grey since i was 18 lol
Some good points raise there matey and accept that view.. but its the price.. its just too rich
I keep hearing this.. but wouldn't you go down the cellulose route as it safer than enamel?
@@MOS6510Models I already spray with Tamiya Lp and Ak real colours. I only use enamel for brush painting details.
At first glance it looks quite good for like 90 euros, but first disadvantige is hose i think, but for beginner is excellent choice great video and happy new year! :)
Great point!
Very helpful, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I also like the way it packs into an tidy carrycase.
no idea sorry
Great video btw
their soray cans are very good.. they do an excellent primer in a spray can too
with "translucent paint sucker things" are you referring to "pipettes"?
they are a pain to clean. i just use a spoon
@@MOS6510Models will gloss white acrylic be just as good as enamel ?
@@russellbenton2987 I would say even better,,, especially if you go over it with a gloss varnish finish
@@MOS6510Models thanks for that !
This airbrush is quite easily taken apart and cleaned if you do bung it up, so don't let that put you off. It is easier if you have a cleaning kit that has cleaning brushes and push rods in it, I generally run it through with some water first to remove any wet paint in it, then put some Isopropal through it.
Where did you buy that spinning stand you had the plane on?
Tamiya i think
Hi, would it not be better to apply thinner coats?
of course but i wanted to show how it works

@@MOS6510Models just for for freehand airbrushing this paint is tricky. And i will use masking with tape and blue tack. For the rest it sprays beautiful and its resilient. yes you can. but only acrylic thinners
Thanks!
Have you looked up mr colour primers .. They are called Mr Surfacers.. they have different grades depending on how think you need it
Is it safe to airbrush indoors without a spray booth and a respirator?
i would opt for a booth and respirator, but spraying with a window open for ventalation is a must
My revell airbrush airbrush broke down after a few times, i didn’t really liked it. but the compressor was good But not realy worth it. I bought a much cheaper airbrush Wich worked better. Still a Nice video

@@MOS6510Models ok thanks
I have been making models for around 25 years, I have always wondered about an airbrush but the thing that puts me off is all the clean up! And after each colour. How much of that cleaner did you use and how much would you get through in one kit build? I almost bought a battery operated airbrush (£40ish) a couple of times but I always talk myself out of it and stick to hand brushes. All the best Anthony
I gave it a bigger clean as i wanted to put it into the box.. but i generally just wash thru and spray cleaner in between colours.. then a proper clean down and rebuild every 3 months
MOS I forgot to ask have you got any views or experience of wireless airbrushes?
No ive shy'ed away from them.. I do have a friend using one so watching his videos to see how well he gets on with it
The airbrush itself will probably be alright but the rest of the stuff just put it away for maybe a spare incase your compressor packs up anytime!
Thanks for the info matey.. amzn.to/3zfPA5N is a great airbrush for beginners.. I will always recommend a compressor with tank as it isnt on full time

Yes very good points my friend..
Thankds for commenting.. if you havent yet could you please subscribe as it helps the YT algorithm
dont get it ive had it for 2 weeks and its already stoped working
thats a shame.. Revell have a good customer services.. get in contact with them
For that price you could get 2 airbrushes and a real compressor for 150.00 dollars USD
Yes I agree,, its too expensive
Good for touch up with a brush afterwards if needed.
amazon is sold out....
really? they had them on sale before

Good results, but then I watch the clean up mess…. I think I will stick to brushes that just need a quick wiggle in water!
Cleaning and airbrush is easy and comes as second nature when you see the results. However a relative of mine uses brush only technique. He like me modelling all his life and quite happy.
Fair enough! I was all fingers and thumbs... i have a spray booth with everything I need to clean up better,,
Revell should really be ashamed of themselves.
Have to agree.. Nice little kit but way tooo rich for a starter anyways.
@@MOS6510Models Yeah. I have a 6l silent teflon compressor which I bought for 100 dollars and a Steenbeck 2 in 1 Ultra (two nozzle
eedle sizes and two cups) for 90 dollars.
Really your paying for the name, it’s not any different from a £45 special off Amazon IMO
I agree

What a joke from Revell...you can buy(at least in Europe) whole Fengda AS186 compressor + solid Fengda airbrush for that kind of money, and that will be miles better than this.
agreed price wise it isnt great.. but impressed with the finish and ease of use
I have this(wife bought me) and also Fengda. I use it when am on a small desk and not my modeling room. It gets job done but surely its way overpriced(my wife bought it on 50% sale so it was not such a bad deal).
