Thanks for the ride around town, Mike. I only saw what could be seen from I-95 and I-195 when I was there three years ago. The thing that impressed me then was driving thru a tunnel underneath City Hall on I-195. Try getting out in the country. I know. I saw some beautiful backroads in Tiverton and Little Compton.
@@edwardrasmussen3465 Thanks for the correction. My great-great-great grandfather was from the area but came to NC about 230 years ago. That was my first time up there and I was just trying to learn the lay of the land.
@2:35 Turning left onto Sprague Street would lead you to one of the best breweries RI has to offer: Long Live Beerworks. And @6:30 turning left down the alley street would lead you to Malted Barley, a great beer and pretzel bar. @8:33 Rogue Island is on the left. If you can't tell what my travel highlights are in general now you know lol.
Lived not far from Benefit Street around 20 years ago. It was a great spot but with my current job which is pretty much work from home it doesn't matter as much, and I am in the suburbs now.
Providence was far more vibrant from the early 00's back. I grew up there in the 80's and 90's and it was basically like the movie New Jersey drive most days in some neighborhoods lol, tons of corruption, the mob and drugs everywhere. Providence has the good the bad and the ugly all in one package. A small city with tons of street cred and historical significance. Walking or biking is the only good way to experience Providence ✌🏽🇺🇲
Welcome to providence you came here at the wrong time of the year. It’s much nicer in the summer with the water fire. There’s so much more to see that you messed in the downtown
Fun fact: while it's close to the RI/MA border, Providence does not directly touch the border. Two cities are between the state line: East Providence to the east and Pawtucket to the north. The two state capitals that do touch its state border are Trenton NJ and Carson City NV.
Definitely my least favorite U.S. city. Was very underwhelmed when I was there. Newport is much better in terms of things to do and beautiful scenery. Skip Providence.
Providence Rhode Island is so beautiful.

That tunnel is in Fall River MA.

That's Elmwood Ave not Broad St.
Your "Broad Street" is really "Elmwood Avenue." At the 1:25 mark you cross "Greenwich Street" where I grew up.
I love Providence Rhodes Island
