Thanks for putting this out there, Jess. I'm implementing 10G right now - just got it all wired, tried to add uplinks to existing port, and was left wondering if/how path selection between 1G vs 10G was going to happen (I don't think it was), so I'm about to repeat your steps - it's a time saver, thanks again!

Hi Jeff, I am facing the same issue. Everything being on 10Gb but never getting any higher than 2.5Gb. Did you solve the issue at the end? thanks Marc

i did this a while ago... where are you seeing the 2.5gb speeds in my video? Sorry really swamped right now and figured if you can point me to where in the video, i can jump to it and take a peek and see if i have any insight.

Hi Jeff, I was curious if you would be able to recommend a sfp+ nic card, that's compatible with 6.7 with a decent cost? Their site's comparability guide is atrocious. Ty for the vid on the setup, i got to pick up a few tips.

sorry... I do not know what sfp+ nic card is compatible. All I know is that InfiniBand cards wont run at InfiniBand speeds if they are older cards. I have the ConnectX-1 cards with CX4 port. VERY old... but for $75 im up and running on 6 ports and a switch.

Hi, I found your video on searching for aadd a 10gbe dualport card to my esxi6.7. I´ve working in past with four 1gbe ports from motherboard and will speed up my system. On my esxi there is vcenter, nappit fileserversystem (like freenas) and one windows admin VM. A really tiny fileserver station and admin server for other hosts. I´ve bought one dualport 10gbe SFP+ card and place this in my server. esxi1 will see the two ports (with elxnet drivers automaticly). Now I thought, I must add these to my standard vSwitch0 on top. But it won´t work. All traffic went to the 1gbe ports. When I replace all four 1gbe to the two 10gbe, I won´t be able to connect. So is it really necessary to add a second vmkernel and 10gbeSwitch? Can I add one or two 1gbe ports as failover and standby mode inside the 10gbeSwitch? Nice video and in basic, its the same I will do in my system. Must I config my nappit new? I don´t think, because all net traffic is in same subnet and same 192.168.196.xxx network with one Gateway/DNS server. Greets, Thomas
