Very nice! I made one out of an old baseball bat that was broken during a game. I used it A LOT to drive in handles on other tools. It broke at the beginning of this year so its time to make a new one. I like copper so I might incorporate some copper in it.
The first & second mallets are to work with, the third one is a wall hanger to show off! 😆😆😆 Like them all. Congrats on going over 10K subscribers here as well!
Wow that's amazing beautiful all three are well made. For me the third was the best. What are the dimensions for the heads mate, i live across the pond in the east of England and I'd like to copy the third mallet for my own use. Many thanks Keith
I personally don't like glued mallets. I prefer when the head is made out of one solid chunk of some hardwood, but I also know that not everyone has drills and chisels or skills to proceed with it. That being said, I absolutely love how easy it is to glue up that kind of mallet you've shown. That is exellent idea for a beginner. Easy and idiot-proof. I love that aspect of it. And that last mallet is really nice! Keep up the great work pal. Ps: that ended damn longer than I'd expect it to XDD
@TheReformationWoodshop I noticed you used a round mallet to knock on wood...I keep seeing them...I would think round makes it easier to miss or mark the wood. What is the difference between what you made and what you used? What is your preference for hardwood mallets? What about balance? Is there a formula for head vs. Handle in weight/size?
Glad to see I'm not the only one who turns a compact router upside down and uses like that. Free tip, don't use to round over the edges on a bunch of Lincoln logs all at once. So many free hand routes, all it takes is a split second to take a decent chunk out of a finger tip. I got lucky and it only nipped some skin off and it grew back. Weirdest thing was I felt it happen, looked at it for several seconds as it didn't hurt and wasn't bleeding at all.... And then it started. Very odd! Lol
Thank god that you had supervision to finish the third mallet. I mean, anything could have happened! Seriously cute moment, and I guess the future of the channel is secure.👍😂
on the third mallet the grain of the handle looks like it'll break right off with the first heavy swing you do. only my opinion with years of experience in woodworking.
You’re correct and should be proud of that eye for detail but off camera I stabilized it by layering in resin until it was firm and then sanded it smooth. It might still break but it’s definitely stronger than it would’ve been. 👍🏻
Always awesome to get kids interested in what we do. Bravo 👏👏👏
For sure, that’s always my goal. 👊🏻

Cool idea!
Love how u did three separate ones. Hits all levels and that’s appreciated! Congrats on 10k
For sure! That’s what this channel is all about. Making sure everyone has a chance.
Really nice set of mallets. The wood was definitely the star of the show.
Absolutely!
you make it look so easy, I am using your most simple example to do my first Mallet.
Good luck! After that one step it up till you knock out the complicated one!

That’s what I’m saying! You almost feel bad hitting things with it. Thanks buddy!
i LOVE the handle on the third mallet. hard to beat figured walnut!
Absolutely, Thanks for watching!
That's great how you flipped the parental supervision thing for having the kid supervise you 😃
At this point she might be more responsible than me 🤣

Appreciate it brotha!
BB's work great to fill the cavity.
Absolutely! If I had them on hand they’d have been first choice.
Or lead shot

Very nicely done. I'm glad to see your channel doing well.
Sean, I appreciate that! Humans don’t root for each other as often as we should. You’re the man!
Very nice...especially the last one it was beautiful
Appreciate it!
Nice work! I'm a beginner so I'll try to the first one! Thanks for the inspiration! Congrats on the 10k!
Good luck brotha, and thank you! I appreciate that!
Great video. Was wondering what to do with hardwood scraps and now I know.
So nice, i’ll try to build it, thanks for showing. Greetings from Germany
Good luck!
Those all turned out very well!
Appreciate it Paul!

Yikes that was close… good to hear everything is back to normal though!
Love No. 3.
Looks great! I think I like the second one the most. You're not worried that the wedges wouldn't mess with the glue?
Nah, I coated everything pretty thoroughly and the pressure of the wedge plus the glue should hold forever.
Great video. I’ve been wanting to attempt to make my first mallet. Keep making the great videos.
For sure Chris! Good luck!
Congratulations!

Like I always say…. She’s the real star of the show. 🤣
Nice job…. Love them all.
Thanks Michael! They’re so fun to make!
Awesome! I'm about to attempt one of these. What kind of oil is on there?
Boiled linseed oil, good luck!
Helpful video I'm a beginner but I'm going to try the third one
Awesome, good luck!
I noticed you didn't make a tenon to insert into the head so that it has "shoulders" to sit on. Wondering how well that would hold up.
That’s definitely a stronger method but the mallets I’ve made in the past without it have held up great. 👍🏻
@@TheReformationWoodshop thanks for the reply. May try that.
What is the black liquid you used to stain the first mallet?
Rubio Monocoat Black
