I think partly I cant really blame any amateur for not doing everything just so your teammate can get on the podium, upgrade and maybe leave for another team. We all paid the reg, drove to the race, spent hundreds of hours training, thousands on gear. Yeah a team win is a win and all that... but when you're on the last set of a long VO2 session how often does "man I cant wait to sit in the peloton for an hour and block for my teammate up the road so that maybe I can give him a leadout" motivate you to finish.
Looks like Pleasanton, and the Mike's kits say, maybe, 5-10 years ago? I think it's great for viewers to see the progression, the race time, resources, and effort, and most of all direct experience, it takes to figure out how to be successful (efficient) in this sport. For me, who's a regular follower, this is a really useful post 👍
I was in this one for a bit...if I recall it was like 105 degrees. I must've pulled out, looks like only a handful finished that one. Good memories! Definitely some interesting Jeff tactics...he he.
At least you've learnt from "young" Jeff's mistakes, seen in the previous races where Sean & Ryan have lapped the field and 200 IQ tactics implemented!
Took me wayyy too long of trial and error. That's why I built this youtube channel and the masterclass to shortcut everything. I wish it existed when I was starting out.
@@NorCalCycling I believe you mentioned like 100 times that you still make mistakes and still learning. So it clicked but that clicking needs reminding every now and then to get consistent results. As always great to learn from you Jeff
Btw I’m new to cycling these tips really help but I wanna biy a track bike but in my country there is no track bikes selling cause can I like buy it in another country and get it shipped down and how do you get it shipped down anyway
No, drinking ketones isn't the same thing as 'ketosis'. Also, unless you are at your max capacity, doing a well fed ride, even if it's just a chill ride, will bring you way more benefits than doing a fasted ride.
Man, 2018, no disc brakes, just living in the moment
That’s me rn lol
Sometimes when I ride on the road
But I mostly do track
@@pailedI'm still all mechanical campag, all rim brake
Nice I don’t even got a road bike yet

I thought it was going to be like a couple of races judging on the length 😂
Have I never been so wrong 😂
It hurt me to watch that wasted energy
Definitely called it at the end. It's been a while since I've seen so many QRs and rim brakes in a P1-2 race.
Your hub fell to bits just light your race strategy😂
Man, that kind of racing give hope for all of us.

Flash back to those blue POC aero helmets... I ran one for a season and can't believe no one told me how weird it looked until AFTER the season lol

TMB Elite was in the light blue kit in 2018. Devo was in dark blue and red sleeves.
Man, you were worst than EJ 😂 thanks Jeff, funny breakdown.
Still a great camera angle! Nice vid, Jeff.

At what point did racing click for you? Was it from experience or did you learn strategy from one person or team?

did you mak a video about that race back then? would be cool to compare your thoughts then and now! anyway, awesome video
with EJ missing, there was no one to roast left 😅 BTW what's up with EJ, Jeff? is he coming back to the channel?
Around 5:30 the speeds range from 55km/h down to 30km/h in a span of 9 seconds. Strange considering there were no turns.
Possibly a GPS bug from buildings, there are spikes of 80 plus so idk, in the old days he might have had a worse bike computer as well

How do you do the overlay of the Garmin data on the video?
Dashware!
I wanna see a pov of you doing track racing in the velodrome
That 2018 BC?
I wonder if that ketone supplement would help with fat burning during a fasted ride

well jeff you jumped the gun on justin doing the exact same content on his ig story
Damn how were you in a P1-2 race and still racing so dumb??! Did you upgrade super fast?
