The Track Truck makes its first rescue!

- The track truck finally goes to work, and this first job is the PERFECT example of why I wanted to switch to the heavier vehicle for off road and snow recovery. The Jeep and @AmericanTrackTruck Dominators never failed me, and those tracks held up to far more than they were ever meant to. Switching brands was purely because I found a Facebook marketplace deal on the @mattracks that I couldn't pass up, and were weight rated for the Dodge that I've been wanting to put tracks on for quite awhile now.
Nate at @elitefleetautomotive9181 built a hydro assist steering setup for it that is working great and other than that, the tracks were bolt on and go

I would call this a trifecta. We get the "new" track truck on its first recovery, Ethan, and Grumpy - all in one video! This gives everyone a better explanation of why you were looking forward to the Dodge on tracks versus the Jeep - being able to haul more than one passenger when you go out. Plus the Dodge just looks awesome on those tracks.

Grumpy sure is lucky to have you. That truck is So much more awesome than the tracks on the Jeep. Love the line lock for the brakes too. Oh and at least when the ring is frosty and cold, you won't burn your rope LOL..

Hey! Good morning Casey! I have to admit that I thought I was going to miss the track Jeep, but after seeing the Dodge on tracks I have changed my mind. The Dodge looks waaaaaaay better on those beefy tracks and I can see where the extra weight can be a huge advantage when it comes to pulling other vehicles. It is always a pleasure to have Grumpy along! 👍
Grumpy going with Casey means Mrs. Grumpy can pretend to be Ms. Slightly-Less-Annoyed for a while... and it's fun for us viewers to watch. 😂
Plus it gets him out in the fresh air which is better than sitting around in the house, not to mention some exercise is always good. :-)

Great video!! The Dodge looks great with the new tracks on it!!! Smart decision to go bigger. You're right about needing to do a LOT more rigging if you were doing that job with the Jeep. Wood blocks are way easier, but won't work on this trailer
Nice to see the track Ram getting to do some work. Definitely more capable with the heavier truck than the jeep was. Plus having all of the storage with utility bed is going to be a lot nicer. Great video as always!

That truck looked great with the wheels that were on it, now it looks amazing. I love that the tracks are even somewhat colour matched. A supercharger would help the power to weight difference between it and the Jeep. 😉

When you were first rolling up to the stuck truck I was worried about the fact that you seemed to be sinking into the snow far more than I'd seen the red jeep do. I decided that it was primarily the snow conditions that were causing that. Then when you said at the end that the grey truck with those tracks is around twice the weight of the red jeep on tracks it made a little more sense! 🙂
More weight and less surface area will cause it to sink into the snow much more, which is exactly what I want
Its always nice when the customer actually listens, i do off-road recoveries every once in awhile mainly in mud but its amazing how you tell people what to do and they do not listen at all.
OK so that track truck is a Beast...if I had one of those I'd actually love living up north again...excellent video. Great job..thanks for sharing

I have watched all the vids you did on the yankum ropes and the rings, I'm still having issues believing that they don't burn rubbing on the rings. Amazing stuff that Yankum stuff.
Ask yourself this.. Why don’t the normal spinning rings completely destroy the soft shackle every time they get used??

Grumpy old mad reminds me of my grandfather. My grandfather’s grumpiness would escalate quickly to full throttle rage. As a kid I was very uneasy around him, and didn’t volunteer to visit.
You make it look easy, I wheeled a lot in my younger days and I know that knowing what your doing makes it look easy
