I'd totally watch a Jonathan Pie Netflix show like this. Not just on Brexit, but the news in general. Yes I know he does this on the road, I know of "The Thick of It", but THIS was great.
I agree, a must watch if it came to pass.
@SmoothEmJay No not Netflix, RUclips Premium is the place it ought to be, a full hour show. That is my hope. I also hope Jonathan Pie is made into a character in Watch Dogs Legions, It would be Epic Pie on Steroids. Over the next few months he is going to have more material than ever to make us laugh.
Definitely he is fucking brilliant.
SmoothEmJay Might not be true, but I fully believe Glenn Cullen is Jonathan Pies dad.
A Jonathan Pie movie would be good, could get the guy who played joker to play him.
This has a distinct "Office" feel to me. It's bloody amazing. Thank you for speaking the truth so many are afraid to.

@Slumerican Mystik that's some stupid shit, a republic is any form of government that doesn't have a monarchy
@Slumerican Mystik
like you're doing right now?
A republic is any state not ruled by a monarch.
A democracy could refer two things.
1. The first one is a system of government where the ruling body consists of the Demos (the citizens). The ruling body issues decrees, etc.
Demos means people. Cratos means "to rule". Hence DemosCratos.
2. Democracy #2 Is an ideology (not a governing system) based on the core ideals of the governing system, also called Democracy.

It's the users, not the tools
@@doncollins7743 Agree. Literally today in my country an abusive dickhole of a father, that abused his children, got exposed only because he got caught doing so on a smartphone camera. From there it unravelled - punishments, psychological abuse, up to forcing them to eat from garbage a spoiled salami because daughter threw it out but he decided it is still edible "and in this house I say what goes". And all because he got caught hitting his six years old son on somebody else's smartphone video.

I felt that too. Because, all joking aside, it's just all true.
Sadly.
Smart phones everywhere have changed society forever but not necessarily for the better. People now have to be careful of spouting opinions and have to tone down how they act in puplic through fear of this sort of public lynching happening to them. Mainstream comedy has become blander because of wokeness.
The police officer saying it was a hate crime actually really stuck a nerve with me
Because fast forward to Feb 2021 and it is becomimg a reality.
Sure, hes illustrating that its a police state, where what you vote, what you say, and even what you think are crimes, even without any actual actions attached to them. A real crime is murder, and it has actual actions attached to it. This is just talking, but people are getting criminal charges. This is a brilliant parody.
Hmmm, not sure if it is him trolling when he's told to speak to Millenials and then interviews Gen Z-ers...
Most people seem to think the millenials are those who are below the age of 25. You'd be surprised to find out that many Millenials are shitting on GenZ, thinking that GenZ are the millenials.
Looking at a society in the lens of generational differences is an inherently unscientific way of doing things. There's no uniform definition of a generation. The "lines" are drawn very arbitrarily and in the end the world is constantly changing and society is very diverse so there are more differences within a generation and more similarities between two generations than this method of gross generalization allows for.
Good point. Millennials, aka Gen Y, = born 1981-96. Generation Z = born 1997 on. Ergo, teenagers in 2020 are much too young to be Millennials.
As an American, I have watched the commentary of Jonathan Pie for several years. I appreciate his candor. I think he got caught in a game of “gotcha.” He is passionate about his work and the mission it fulfills.
This genuinely gives the real feel that he's a real reporter. What an actor! Wish he was coming to Dublin
