- UPDATE
I've seen that the ngemu is screwing up with their plugins. Instead, here are the new links:
First you need Winrar:www.rarlab.com/...
If your getting a torrent game, I suggest getting uTorrent: www.utorrent.com/
ePSXe Download: www.epsxe.com/d...
ePSXe Bios: dragonballarena...
ePSXe Plugins: www.pbernert.com/
Just Download a different CD plugin but config it the same way in the video.
Hope this helps. If you have any problems, comment or send me a PM and I will give you all the help I can. Thanks for Watching.
This video is the best on youtube for getting the emulator the run properly. Everything that you need to know is explained so clearly. I've tried about a dozen vids before this one and they all skipped over parts or didnt really say anything at all. Some of my favorite games are on the PS1.
GREAT JOB ON THE VID!!
seriously, taking the time to talk step by step is really freaking helpful
You are amazing! I searched so many PSX download tutorials on RUclips before I came across this one, and this is the only one that helped. The rest of them went through the process too quickly and never spoke, but just had music playing. Thanks
Thank you so much for this, I've been really desperate to play the English patch of Policenauts for ages but didn't have a clue how to do it until now! Thanks for making it so straight forward!
out of all the videos i found about how to install epsxe, this has been the most helpful. Thanks dude!
The most comprehensive guide i have found for an almost total noob like myself. Thanks very much dude.
Out of all the tutorials here, yours is the least confusing. Thank you SO much.
Dude, I followed everything you did and I have final fantasy 6 working, I cant thank you enough.
Thanks. After trying by myself forever to get this to work I said, "Screw it." and just jumped to putting it on my PSP but after awhile, things happen to electronics and I was back to my computer and this tutorial help me a lot. Thanks man!
Brilliant tutorial. Managed to ePSXe up and running with no hassle thanks to this. Cheers mate!
You are AWESOME!!! I've had ePSXe downloaded for years but never got it to work, thank you!
Great it works! Took a few hours but I got it all set up! Stupid iPad won't let me favourite this video so it was an absolute nightmare trying to find it again, thanks!!
I cant thank you enough. been messing with all sorts of shit to finally get my games to run. You rock man, you have my thx
you are the best ePSXe tutorial maker, in the history of the world.
Holy crap, thank you for making this. ;_; I can't believe how simple you made downloading the emulator look.
If you download epsxe from it's official site, it comes with everything you need (plug-ins,etc).
Depending what video/sound plug-ins you use it may not work so just try different combinations.
Also if you have an iso/bin of a game made before 1996, chances are the bg music will not play because sound files were stored differently at the time, but playing with the actual disc everything will work fine. All iso/bin's after 1995 should work perfectly, bg music and all.
Thank you soooo much!!! was trying for ages and your video made it so simple!!
What program do you use to use your sixaxis on your pc?
thanks alot man it took me forever trying to do some things mentioned on other forums with this it got it working in no time.
Thank you dude.I actually went to this site that comes with epsxe 1.7.0 with all plugins accept a bio but I got the Dragonball arena one. I prefer you go ther because it has everything and it's awesome!
thanks alot dude this helped alot 5/5 and faved kee up the good work
digimon world 3 here i come... *turns off lights and gets lots of snacks*
This actually worked very well for me! You just have to google some of the missing bits to download. btw Could you ever do a tutorial on how to configure the axis for your controller ?
If you're missing the zlibb1.dll Just type down "ePSXe zlibb1.dll" Into google.
It's a one second download, and you just put it in the same folder that ePSXe is in.
Also, try multiple graphics plug ins, the best one I have found makes the graphics good, BUT, during cutscenes in RE : Nemesis, the black bars a the top and the bottom (Letterbox effect) flicker like mad.
The lower one doesn't make that happen, the models are incredible pixellated.
thx i was loking for a way to configure epsxe for like a million years
thank u SO much dude, this was really helpful and will definately reccomend to friends to help them get started. cheers from the UK
Thanx man you are the best, watched other videos on how to do this but your video explained the best keep up the good work
I can't thank you enough for posting this. Five stars, straight up!
The Best Epsxe Tutorial On RUclips!!!
Now i Can Play My Psx Games On Pc!!
Thanks!!
thankyou so much, been running around al morning trying to sort this out.
btw your thing for using ps3 controller means you have bluetooth on your pc i assume? or can you do it otherwise
thanks this kinda helped and for those missing something just google the file and download is into your epsxe file. done
For the love of god. Thank you. I have been trying to play FFVII since this morning.
Omg... thanks mate! Playing Front Mission 3.. after sooo many years again..! :)
Thank you very much for your help :). I now have Ridge Racer, Formula 1 97, G Police and Syphon Filter up and running :D
@TheKingOfGreatGames You're using 1.6
Update to ePSXe 1.70, get Pete's OpenGL 2.9, use SimoneT's Bump Map shader, with the Eternal audio plugin. This is absolutely the best ePSXe setup.
Thanks. This helped me set up the emulator without a problem. Much appreciated.
Yes, there are a couple of files you may have to download slightly different, like the gpu (or something)
If you want to get working bios, thepiratebay has a download with the emulator, bios, and plugins.
Final Fantasy * is the greatest Final Fantasy ever!!!! And your the greatest tutorial video maker ever!!!! Thanks man. I had to do a little searching myself, because the petes link is different. When I tried to open psxe, I got a zlib.dll not found, so I found it myself! LOL! I anyone has a problem with this video, contact me! Or otherwise just stfu & listen, & read to! Learn on your own, its not that hard, time consuming but not hard! Thanx Nemnas!
@Shadowsminion All you need is a "Wired" Xbox 360 controller, I have a cheap one that i use...or you could probably find some pretty cheap PC controllers
you experience epsxe lots? ok i have 120 games psx iso perfect running working and i have problem some game not work for epsxe and psxeven.
1. Destruction Derdy
2. Need for Speed II
3. Tomb Raider
4. Tomb Raider II
5. Road Rash 3D
6. Nightmare Creatures
7. Syhon Filter
8. Castlevania Chronicles
9. Mortal Kombat 4 - woking but speed slow..
if you notice problem some games not working same me and tell me why? thanks
links were dead. I found some other ones . but this video really helped out alot thanks
Thanks for this video...tried about a year back to get everything working but just followed a text guide, could never get past the basic screen because of the same zlib problem everyone else had. Now it's all working(thanks to you :3), except sound doesn't seem to work on videos. In game it works fine, I have all the sound effects, but things like the opening video are entirely sound-free. Any ideas of how I can fix it? I think I have the same SPU plugin you said to get.
took me about an hour but Finally got it Thanks
Do you use Xpadder for your controller program? I highly recommend it.
awesome video man! easy to follow and well done!
THANK YOU FOR THE TIME MAN!!! You made it possiable for me to play playstation at work!!
It's not illegal to download games you already own. It's is 100% legal to download games that you own because the copyright laws dictate that it is legal to own a backup copy of things you already own, no matter how you come to possess them.
thanks dude, awesome, 1q? where did you get final fantasy from? is it 7? thanks man
aww dude i love u get to play all my childhood favorites again now X) thanks alot.....
@EnglisIsBackAgain i was also talking about iso files.
i'm glad you did it..
cool game!!
You have good taste in PC games...
respect man thanks :) games these days suck... now i can play legend of dragoon and other old classic games when its raining outside and there's nothing to do thanks again :D
well, you download them in parts. They're up to 8 parts that are 5mb I think or 50,000,000 bytes
Thank you in advance for the tutorial bro, you are the best! :)
You deserve my subscription, like and rate :)
@Atomgel there should be no problem double check your cdrom plugin configuration i also use windows 7 on a laptop and followed this video and it works perfectly (70 fps btw is golden)
@Sephirothmassume you can just download that file on the net, then put it in the system32 folder in C:
and thank you for this magnificent tutorial. It surely helped alot. I've been rated "awsome" and i have been telling many people about this video. This is added to my favorite wich is rare. thanks :)
Thanks man!! Saved me a lot of time and hardship and tears... and misery..
The website has been taken down. That pbernet is 'Pete's' personal page, and IMO he makes the best ePSXe plugins.
thanks dude, i was having trouble with mine and it would just go black... now it actually plays haha good shit man thnks!!
You my friend are a freaking GENIUS. wish i could like this video a thousand times... FINAL FANTASY TACTICS HERE I COMMEEEE :))
@CallestereCrysis actually it's "zlib1.dll" not "zlib.dll"
@DrPhilip91 Thanks, I managed to guess correctly after posting the comment, but the elaboration does make it seem more logical.
thanks for all the help, and thanks commenters about the zlib problem! all i had to do was google it n download it! but now the biggest problem is just downloading games... it takes forever! especially for not as well known games..
@009domino It's on the website. There it will explain that you need to download it
type in the file name in yahoo and click on the forst result to download the zlib file. just make sure to put it into your epsxe folder.
this emulator with Kings field 1 and 2, Chrono Cross, and tobal 2 Is all you need to be happy with life.
@happyvocal there is certain configurations for every game (i think) try googling it
I tried this but when I try starting ePSXe it says I'm missing zlib 1.dll?
@Atomgel what cdrom plugin are u using?are u trying to play cds or isos?
well its simple to play with your controller you just need a file and intstall it on your cpu after that just run the file and press the ps button on ther controller and play
but you have to configure the emulator for your controller
you extract it to a folder or whatever..... what folder?
go to google and search "zlib1.dll" and usually go to the first result. download the file (not a large file) then put it in the ePSXe folder
@Lardman678 - look up the problem and you should get some download links for it. Once you've downloaded it all you need to do is extract zlib1.dll to the folder where you extracted the ePSXe zip file.
Good looking bro! I was wondering why the commands were missing in FF8
Just perfcect. Simple and perfect. Now I need to find a FFVIII....
Thank you that was quite legendary
It really explains things for us complete noobs
For anyone missing the zlib1.dll file, just Google that exact file and you will find links to fix it. Just extract the file under the ePSXe folder and you're set. I think it's only a problem if you have 1.7.0 version of ePSXe.
I was able to set up the bios and plugins, but when I run the game, the sound goes normal rate, and then it, as well as the video goes REALLY fast. How to fix?
I dont think it would be illegal to download the game if you had already purchased the physical version of it.
I need help. I can get some games running but when I close the emulator the game keeps playing after I close it. I cant stop the sound until I open another game but when I close it the process repeats itself forcing me to restart my computer. Please respond.
Thanks alot dude!
Really made my day! : D
Thanks a lot, your video was very informative. The only problem I had was when I went to open the ePSXe and it said that zlib1.dll was missing. That was easily fixed once I downloaded it and extracted it to the main ePSXe file, though.
@xbob23 no. this emulator is ONLY for play station one games enless i am mistaken? I believe you need a playstation 2 emulator... unless of course im wrong which is possible...you could always try and find out
i did everything exactually , but when i open the game on epsxe its pauses on the loading screen on any game i play , do you know the problim????
I downloaded the emulator but when I try to open it, this error pops up and says
" This application has failed to open because zlib1.dll was not found. "
thx it worked for me, not the mooby though but the one epsxe has in already.
ive got that problem, right click the shortcut and click rename, you dont have too, cclick off it and it should work then. or keep clicking , it will work then.
thx man it really was a great Tutorial :D
Well done man, great video!
Thanks
Thank you very much, you helped me a lot! Very nice video.
@DanteBlueWolf17
Ok, there is something wrong with the plugins. Try downloading older versions of them as that worked on me.
this helped alot kudos but quick question as far as memory cards go where can i download one of those i cant find it ? kinda want to save my game lol
Hi, got a problem.
Yesterday when i installed epsxe I managed to get Suikoden II to work perfectly (didnt play, when I saw that everything worked smooth I went to bed to save the amazing feeling of beginning to play suikoden ti when I could really treasure it). Now when i started up epsxe it wont work. When i press up the Suikoden file I see as always the PS1 joypad in the upper-right corner and then the window goes black and it stays black forever. Do someone know whats wrong?
i cant believe i got it working thank you dude forreals
@noksinerate serach in google zlib1.dll and download it from somewhere. copy the zlib1.dll and paste it in the same folder as where your epsxe emulator is.
@Galvatronfasho where did you get a working FF8 for it!? I've been looking everywhere, and after you get it downloaded on utorrent how do you get it to work on ePSXe?
Go to emuasylumcom and click on emulators on the left side of the screen. You should see a list of emulators. Go to the console emulator and pick PS1. It will have all the files you need including bios to make the PSX work. The website is all blue if you need hint.I hope this help you.
THANK YOU SO FUCKING MUCH! I've been trying for decades to run Monsterseed (lol) and with this it FINALLY works. Thanks so much!
What program did you use to allow your PS3 controller to work? I've been trying everything
@CallestereCrysis
I tried putting it in the ePSXe folder and it still says that zlib is missing from my computer. I also tried in the plugins folder to no avail. Any ideas?
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
