Bots are really a double-edged sword, because having low prices on skilling supplies is nice but on the opposite ends having money makers more profitable is also nice. But if the additional money you gain is spent in the relative price increase elsewhere, is it really making a difference ultimately? Or course philosophically I'm strictly against botting but in the real world there is some give and take to botting.
The bots are just changing locations. The wildy bosses are absolutely swamped with bots right now. Corp bots are in mass at ferox refreshing for more corp kills. Vetion has 1/2 the worlds taken by bots currently. They’re just changing locations
I'm curious if you know anything about why regular (non-clue scroll) caskets jumped from around 500 gp up to 5k in early June and have since dropped back down to around 1.3k? Such a weird spike for a relatively insignificant item.
@@jordantalley6386 The only reason I noticed in the first place was because they actually showed up as highlighted loot on a Dagannoth task that I was cannoning and I thought it was a mistake 😂
@@cmdrslander2989 Interesting, that would explain why trade volume also went up around the same time. But that could also just be because people saw the increased price and were picking up and selling their caskets rather than opening them or leaving them on the ground.
I am really happy those bots are gone. Most of the people that talked about the blood furry were always very dismissive about it when I said that; their blood shards are only even obtainable due to the insane amount of bots that bot them. When you're 2x the droprate of them on avarage over 20m thieving exp on an iron, you tend to notice how annoying it is get get more charges for your blood furry. Now at least the mains have to suffer with us, at least a little. If anything, and mostly, I just hope they introduce another way to charge these things.
I would say jagex has been hitting bots pretty good these past months but the prices on items like blood shards still makes no sense to me. Been doing a fun goal of 82-99 at vyres and while at 82 to 94 so far I have seen on average 2 blood shard bots per world any time per day without fail average 108-115 thieving so these things are not getting banned as fast as the price increase shows. I think bots are only part of why some of these items are raising there is another cause for why they are going up or have gone up so much too
I think it's the result isn't entirely bots being banned. I believe it's partly banning, but also botters cutting their losses and botting pirates instead of wasting time leveling bots for SotF, SotE and MM2.
Excited to actually have good money makers that aren't high level bossing. Zombie pirates like 2m an hour now btw, the bot farms are gone and cballs are fairly common
i know botters will come after me for this but there is still theiving bots with 99 thieving capes in every world right outside hallowed sep dung, and there is still nex bots doing 6 man teams in every other world, my proof ( for people that will say this is not true in comments) = thieving bots try to close door same time u open door EVERY time, and there is no way 6 people log out within 1 tick all at the same time when you enternex boss room. Anyone who argues my point 100% is a botter.
I got 14.3K superior dragon bones last year for about 7700-8K max each to do 90-99 prayer (haven’t done it yet) but seeing them for how much they’re worth now.. is tempting to sell for insane profit but then I’m still not 99 pray, lol. Then again I don’t need the profit.. just want it.
I think it's very hard to say there's a decline in bots and that's why prices go up when there is not change in daily volume. If a huge swath of bots meaningfully got removed then the volume would see some decrease as those items no longer go into the GE. I think its still just hyperinflation of the game. RIP to midgame accounts.
The last time I played you could buy a 14 day bond for 5.5 mill on the GE… I signed in for a laugh last night and spent 13.5mill on one freak bond dudes 😮
The primary reason for this isn't the bots, its inflation. There is a crazy amount of GP in the game and not nearly enough GP sinks. Bots were just masking this issue by flooding the market with enough items to keep the prices relatively stable instead of skyrocketing in proportion to the skyrocketing amount of GP being brought into the game. Its about to become very apparent to people how out of control inflation has gotten and how poor the balancing of the game really is. OSRS just continues to look more and more like a poorly balanced private server ever year.
So jagex increasing bond prices, basically making cost of survival in the game for the period of 14 days, more money in usd and in ra gp has nothing to do with this?
I have 0 care that training for my main will be more expensive. Glad for the bots to be going away. Would rather be the one doing sone of the collecting and moneymaking methods myself anyway! Now there is a reason to go after a bloodshard.
Hi, Paladin here with an additional possible cause for Superior Dragon Bones. Nerissa Ravencroft, A Vtuber from the HoloLiveEnglish Vtuber agency, has recently started streaming OSRS and wanted to get prayer up so her fans bought up a bunch of bones to keep funneling to her. I was watching some of her streams and a majority of them she was just boning the altar in someones POH while people ran bones for her. I would not know if this was significant enough, but HoloLive fans are very dedicated so maybe they have just been buying up all the bones, in combination with Jagex banning Vorkath bots consistently.
Still, it's just *one* person grinding prayer to 99. I'm pretty skeptical that one person grinding it to 99 would impact the bone's price like that. If it was hundreds+ grinding 99 prayer at once it would make sense. I'm sure on a daily basis there's multiple players grinding out 99 prayer and just adding one more to it wouldn't make any difference.
I’d assume botting would help the economy, rather than destroy it no? Imagine there being a 70%+ missing supply with all of that demand….. it sucks but, there has always been bots in osrs and it generally helped balance the market. Some things are a real pita to obtain
Botting didn't help the economy, it essentially just redistributed it (and I'd argue in an unhealthy way), by driving the price of many resources down and the price of bonds up. Unfortunately, many of the easily botted resources correspond to mid-game pvm or skilling money makers, leading to a bigger gap between them and end-game players that can make consistent high gp from raids/high-level pvm Yes removing bots means the prices of those resources go up, but they go up in a way that should balance out different play styles.
i've seen the nr2 on the barrows list, casualting going at it at world 312 for sometime now. very unresponsive and doesn't look like a "casual alt" at all
LMAO. I got 99 prayer in may. I just said "fuck it" and went and bought all the hydra bones I needed for chaos altar. GLAD I GOT THAT OUT OF THE WAY BEFORE NOW LOLOL
Bots are the “illegal immigrants” of RuneScape. On 1 hand, we don’t like them crashing the prices of the items we want to go get, BUT, i sure do enjoy when they flood the GE with supply materials that I need and do the jobs I don’t want to do.
I feel like this had more to do with DMM. Everyone playing that so prices are going up. After DMM have a weird feeling everything gonna go back down. Seems like this kinda happens every year.

Well at least the community can actively combat these bots.
Whats going on with the soulreaper, no ones talking about that dropping 100m in like a week? Will it keep tanking or come back up?
Huge work for the Jagex team!
I hate seeing accounts with 15,000 zulrah kc or isolated stats of 110 level+.
Really interesting video this week!
bought 250k superiors for 9250ea, sold for 12100ea never expected them to go past previous max price, insane.
started rebuilding at zulrah and the gp/hr is actually crazy feel like 2014 again
I'm curious if you know anything about why regular (non-clue scroll) caskets jumped from around 500 gp up to 5k in early June and have since dropped back down to around 1.3k? Such a weird spike for a relatively insignificant item.
Dude im the only one who noticed because I do sandcrabs so much and nobody would listen to me!
Could be rwt happening they do pick random items you sell to go around the system
@BillMader I know of one person atleast in all bulks chat who collects them
I am really happy those bots are gone.
Most of the people that talked about the blood furry were always very dismissive about it when I said that;
their blood shards are only even obtainable due to the insane amount of bots that bot them.
Shouldn't volume be more indicative of botting being targeted, instead of just price? It may just be inflation due to lots of content being released
I got two bloodshards this weekend it was great
Excited to actually have good money makers that aren't high level bossing. Zombie pirates like 2m an hour now btw, the bot farms are gone and cballs are fairly common
one item i feel you missed was the staff of the dead. was 5m in January now its 15m
i know botters will come after me for this but there is still theiving bots with 99 thieving capes in every world right outside hallowed sep dung, and there is still nex bots doing 6 man teams in every other world, my proof ( for people that will say this is not true in comments) = thieving bots try to close door same time u open door EVERY time, and there is no way 6 people log out within 1 tick all at the same time when you enternex boss room.
I'm glad I noticed this at around the same time you seemed to. I stocked up on most things I needed, although blood fury will forever waste my gold.
Bought my Tbow @ 799m before leagues one year.
Bought my Scythe @ 370m.
Bought my 3A Robe Top because Fashionscape @ 64m.
Loving life, bOi's.
this is wild lol i botted 96-99 thieving just a few days ago and got 6 blood shards no bans
Not necessarily related, but fun facts, i just spent less on Osmumtens Fang than i did on my last bond
DHL has gone nuts as well. 30 mil 8 months ago to 62 mil is crazy.
what i’m hearing is that i decided to come back at a pretty good time
The last time I played you could buy a 14 day bond for 5.5 mill on the GE… I signed in for a laugh last night and spent 13.5mill on one freak bond dudes 😮
I was doing zulrah making bank and got so confused how and why but now i know
I think the phrase is flies on honey. I accidentally bought an extra 11000 superiors and I'm so happy because I just let them sit in my bank lmao
Can I just buy and hold bonds like an osrs ETF?
I feel your pain on the one chunk man at a time, brother. Hope soon merch series goes on❤
Can you do a vid on the price of 3rd age? Longsword is near max cash now just curious
I am very happy Jagex is taking care of this... MOST players are somewhere in the mid game and these things are impactful for them.
I have 0 care that training for my main will be more expensive. Glad for the bots to be going away. Would rather be the one doing sone of the collecting and moneymaking methods myself anyway! Now there is a reason to go after a bloodshard.
Decided to get my first zenyte shard. Felt good to sell. Im addicted so I’ll be going back for more
They should’ve targeted the GE before they took out the bots that make the game actually fun
9-10k bones are bought/sold every hour, it's have a small bump but I'd doubt it'd have a long lasting impact like we're seeing.
It takes 24.8k superior bones to get from 70-99 and the daily volume is 636k, so I would guess this by itself isn't very significant.
@@bulbasa9r753 It wasn't one person buying them, it was potentially a hundred people buying them.
Blighted ice sacks are like 509 gp ea now too
I’m just glad I bought 20k red chins when they were 850 each for 99 range.
We saw Jagex clear out bots before GTA 6
I’d assume botting would help the economy, rather than destroy it no? Imagine there being a 70%+ missing supply with all of that demand….. it sucks but, there has always been bots in osrs and it generally helped balance the market. Some things are a real pita to obtain
Botting didn't help the economy, it essentially just redistributed it (and I'd argue in an unhealthy way), by driving the price of many resources down and the price of bonds up. Unfortunately, many of the easily botted resources correspond to mid-game pvm or skilling money makers, leading to a bigger gap between them and end-game players that can make consistent high gp from raids/high-level pvm
Yes removing bots means the prices of those resources go up, but they go up in a way that should balance out different play styles.
@brentmabey3181 I mean main reason is because there are bosses that drop resources in bulk.
@@DuckGoat-mr9tu also definitely an issue
A fig newton with hummus? ☠ glad I didn't skip that ad lol, what the hell is that?
Im curious what you think of AI price trackers and flipping.
i've seen the nr2 on the barrows list, casualting going at it at world 312 for sometime now. very unresponsive and doesn't look like a "casual alt" at all
I managed to sell like 200k wrath runes I had banked from 99rc at 420 (nice) each and that was the highlight of my week
Lmao
I don't enjoy it at all. Bots make every money maker less profitable. I'd rather make more money and pay more to actual players gathering resources.
The US Economy 🤣
@@yarsaz4347 100% but then you go to train prayer or construction and its ten times more expensive now rip
They should make both pvp enabled everywhere
I feel like this had more to do with DMM. Everyone playing that so prices are going up. After DMM have a weird feeling everything gonna go back down. Seems like this kinda happens every year.
Ive been noticing this trend as well, its kinda crazy. I still wonder how many of the active players are bots
They're banning more than just bots....
