Well, that "science and magic is the same thing" bit was more about the Bifrost and Asgardian weapons, but they only ever called Loki's magic "tricks" and "illusions" and Frigga called them her "gift". Even Malekith called her a witch. They all do shapeshifting. So I think that part was always magical, it was just never an important part of the story, cause Thor can't do these things. I mean, the mystic arts is quasi-scientific in a way that you have to study and learn to control the energies in the world, so y'know. Maybe Asgardians just considre magic as a scientific discipline.
I think this movie has the potential to attract a lot of non comic book movie fans because of how different it looks. Also, maybe a nomination/win for best visual effects? We'll see!
Classic Doctor Strange is a lot more stronger than Scarlett Witch, His power are all over the place he practically cand do anything that anyone can do and more. Comparing him to Franklin Richards that is debatable but ill do admit that kid is OP.
Dr. Strange is cosmic level. The only people that should be fighting Dr. Strange is people like Dr. Manhattan, Dormamu, Thanos, Pheonix or Onslaught. Any marvel superhero that are Superman level and below would get curb stomped by Dr. Strange- especially those susceptible to magic
Adam Warlock defeats Thanos in the Infinity Gauntlet series while Dr Strange helps the Avengers and the X-Men travel to where Thanos is and helps them breathe in space I think? For 60 minutes or something? I need to revisit that series aha I've forgotten. I really can't wait for Adam Warlock either way. But Strange is extremely powerful, yep
Let's remember that Frigga and Loki both are magic users. Even stated by the characters in Thor 2. So there's magic in the MCU already... just not at this scale.
All of this stuff was in the original Doctor Strange comics. The upside down and craziness. The cape does everything he wants. I can't wait to see how it is in the film like it is in the comics.
Christopher Nolan has even said he was influenced by Doctor Strange when making Inception and Batman Begins. I wish more people understood that this movie is not ripping off Nolan. It's the other way around.
Deffinitely! The justice league one was......underwhelming.Plus i was not feeling cyborg's cgi/real suit or what ever they used.It looked plastic.Almost like some costume from a power rangers show.
Fun fact, they got the idea for Inception from the Doctor Strange 90s movie that never came to be. Also, the wifi password - Shamballa is a little easter egg to the Doctor Strange graphic novel "Into Shamballa" :P
Glass is prominent imagery in this movie. Glass windows showing his reflection in his apartment. Shattered glass during his accident. Glass seems to form when they move into different dimensions. Towers of crystals form when he attempts a spell.
It's great to see something completely different from marvel. I can't wait to see this in 3D. I'm even looking forward to seeing this trailer on the big screen. Its too bad the GOTG Vol 2 footage from comic con won't be released.
+Fullmetal Asian Somebody had to have recorded it. They will probably put it up in the next month or so because if they were to post it now it would be taken down. I saw the deadpool footage last year but it was only up for a couple of weeks. Just keep checking!
Uranus the comic con trailer? Hmm interesting. I know the test footage was but I didn't know about the comic con trailer. Good to know, sorry about the misinformation
It would’ve been nice if it took place over many years. Maybe it could have begun after Iron Man, but before the Avengers. Then there could also mention a few events, ie. Battle of New York, Hydra being revealed, Sokovia & the Civil War, with Strange wanting to fight but not being allowed to by the Ancient One
The WW trailer was my fave til this one, blew my mind. This looks incredible, have no idea what's going on (in a good way), completely unique for the superhero genre. This could be a game changer, the most powerful character in Marvel (he isn't w/ the Avengers alot cuz while their busy saving worlds, he's protecting the entire dimension from other forces). His Cloak of Levitation throw was epic. It's imbued w/ magic too, prob the most reason to have a cape (along w/ Batman & obviously Cloak)
Can't wait for this. More hyped for this movie than any other movie this year. Looks like they spared no expense & Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the best actors out there.
Did u know Dr Strange was mentioned on Captain America: Winter War Soldier??? When Steve, Natasha, and Sam were interrogating the guy that knew about 'Project Insight' and he naming off name as target. He said 'Stephen Strange'.
I did a video a while back about how a throwaway line in the first Avengers was the key to incorporating more conventionally magical magic into the MCU. Loki asks Thor "how much dark energy did the All-father have to muster to conjure you to your beloved Earth." In the comics, magic is essentially another fundamental force of reality alongside the ordinary four recognized by physics. Some can harness it innately to greater and lesser degrees, and objects can be created (such as Mjolnir) that can tap into that force to enhance a magic-wielder's might, or to enable even non-magical entities to do magical things. Dark energy could effectively equate to the comics' magical energy. I'm hoping for vindication with this film. XD
To Eric: When you said "Have not seen a one of them," were you talking about Firefly/Serenity? If so, you should do a reaction to them. Trust me, you'll love them.
In the original comics it's a cloak of levitation. When the doctor's not wearing it the cloak just floats in a corner. He can also control how it moves.
Took a small break from the podcast because we were all really busy these last two weeks with Vacations and Comic-con. It should return this weekend sometime.
+Christian Raddclife I think so. I just think that Dr. Strange would at least put up a good fight. Also, it depends on who the host of Dr. Fate is (the entity I am talking about).
+Christian Raddclife Yea because being more badass definitly helps when fighting. Lol Dr Strange is the most powerful Marvel character in his prime you must not read his comics.
Guys read Wait, Is 'Doctor Strange' Really Hiding An Infinity Stone? (google it); You may get an idea, since the stones are searched for constantly, of who may show up.
In physics, there is string theory, which says we live, in our reality, in and around 11 dimensions. Right now, all around us are 11 dimensions. The tv show "the big band theory"notes that string theory is the only thing physicist are working on. Science or magic, or who knows what is possible.
I remember seeing the original Doctor Strange movie...this looks to be much, much better... Also, for your Justice League review, I'll take any Martian Manhunter just so long as it isn't David Ogden Stiers....
Well Mijolnir is technology so high developed and metaphysical that it is basically magic. It isn´t actually made from a star and very heavy. It manipulates gravity and energy.
I swear to god, that if they make the Eye Of Agamotto an Infinity Stone, I will be soooo mad. It basically makes The Sorcerer Supreme's most powerful magical item not magical and therefore a fraud.
That Thor technology/magic stuff doesn't hold up at all. The Asgardians are clearly magical in a ton of ways. Heimdall literally sees everywhere in the nine realms at any time. Not using any technology. Just - by being magic. Thor's hammer is magic, and magically judges virtue (and magically returns to him). Ah 2016. Such a simpler time
You were complaining in 2019, simpler times

Ah 2019. Such a simpler time
2019, a simpler time
Classic superhero movie trailers
"Start with the single piano note"
lol u so right
but this time super hero playing it himself
Ever since The Force Awakens that single piano note is in every trailer.
bwoooooooooom
+Gabriel NR No it was since the dark knight rises trailer 3:)
4 years later and still one of the best marvel trailers
And a really good film too
True
This just got recommended to me in 2021 and I was like WHAT? MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS TRAILER??
Hahahaha
Sameee
bruh same I was like DOCTOR STRANGE 2????? WHAT WHEN DID THIS HAPPENED
@@heronb.4965 now 🤣
It's the WiFi Password. We're not savages.
That's pretty savage
The Avengers will need him for the Infinity War.
Taylor McKevitt more than you think 😂😂😂
Eyad Jiroudi dam lol
Guess I was right, holy shit. He was standing his ground against Thanos who had 4 infinity stones.
No way you came back to comment here one year later xD
Niels Hellbach 😂😂😂
Loki has magic though, he's a sorcerer. And Frigga was one too, they can do illusions and all.
Yeah but they tried to pass it off as a scientific explanation
Well, that "science and magic is the same thing" bit was more about the Bifrost and Asgardian weapons, but they only ever called Loki's magic "tricks" and "illusions" and Frigga called them her "gift". Even Malekith called her a witch. They all do shapeshifting.

I mean, the mystic arts is quasi-scientific in a way that you have to study and learn to control the energies in the world, so y'know. Maybe Asgardians just considre magic as a scientific discipline.
True but this is a full on head first dive into magic. definitely not something they've really done as of yet
Doesnt Scarlett Witch do magic too?
This has the potential to be the best Marvel movie
Who could forget Tilda Swinton as Aslan.
The White Witch. Not Aslan.
Rafi Kadir oh no wait she was Mr. Tomnus
No it'll be the worst, and that's saying something.
+Auron1Roxas2 what???. Thats like saying Wonder woman could be the worst in the DCEU... lmfaooo stfu.
I think this movie has the potential to attract a lot of non comic book movie fans because of how different it looks. Also, maybe a nomination/win for best visual effects? We'll see!
So remember that time that Dr.Strange defeats all of the avengers on his own pretty much. At the same time? Yep strongest marvel hero confirmed
I should say he's close third.
Second is Scarlett Witch. The first is Mr.Fantastic's Son(Franklin Benjamin Richards). You can ask me why
Totally agree.
The classic Dr Strange is one of the strongest hero in the universe. He got so strong that he altered the cosmical balance.
Strange- especially those susceptible to magic
he could take down Thanos all by himself, thats how powerful he is and the avengers are def gonna need him for Infinity
yes pretty sure he can defeat thanos but its a movie so they obviously csnt do that. XD
he can if he is at his full potential but here he is learning so he cant do that here , but ya u r right
not a Thanos with the infinity gauntlet
Adam Warlock defeats Thanos in the Infinity Gauntlet series while Dr Strange helps the Avengers and the X-Men travel to where Thanos is and helps them breathe in space I think? For 60 minutes or something? I need to revisit that series aha I've forgotten. I really can't wait for Adam Warlock either way. But Strange is extremely powerful, yep
just imagine his true potential once he's fully trained .... He'd blast Thanos into a different universe and keep him there
Let's remember that Frigga and Loki both are magic users. Even stated by the characters in Thor 2. So there's magic in the MCU already... just not at this scale.
All of this stuff was in the original Doctor Strange comics. The upside down and craziness. The cape does everything he wants. I can't wait to see how it is in the film like it is in the comics.
His cape is the cloak of levitation letting him fly and it's sentient.
Christopher Nolan has even said he was influenced by Doctor Strange when making Inception and Batman Begins. I wish more people understood that this movie is not ripping off Nolan. It's the other way around.
Nolan also drew inspiration for 'Inception' from the 1929 Dziga Vertov film 'Man with a Movie Camera'.
There are people who say Dr Strange got this from inception, but these types of things are in the comics. Maybe inception got this from the comics
The music is great too! Looking forward to soundtrack!
I remember this time where I love these people's reaction in every video up untill now
Finally...good reaction to the cloak scene ....Benedict Cumberbatch looks so badass... he just fits the character perfectly
“Where’s he gonna fit in with the Avengers?”
**laughs evilly** 😈
Okay, so, Eric should totally do a Firefly reaction!
Best trailers from Comic con: Wonder Woman
Doctor Strange
Luke Cage
Deffinitely! The justice league one was......underwhelming.Plus i was not feeling cyborg's cgi/real suit or what ever they used.It looked plastic.Almost like some costume from a power rangers show.
+Nazmi Ahmad its not how its gonna look in the movie, theyre gonna add cgi or whatever; its gonna be much better
+Nazmi Ahmad it wasn't a trailer but merely a teaser. And they are 3 months into shooting.
Ruffy Zer0 Then that begs the question on why they revealed this to begin with.I mean sure people want to see Cyborg but not in a shitty cgi way.
Nazmi Ahmad Yea Cyborg looked a little weird to me too
Fun fact, they got the idea for Inception from the Doctor Strange 90s movie that never came to be.
Also, the wifi password - Shamballa is a little easter egg to the Doctor Strange graphic novel "Into Shamballa" :P
She was also the White Witch from "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".
Glass is prominent imagery in this movie. Glass windows showing his reflection in his apartment. Shattered glass during his accident. Glass seems to form when they move into different dimensions. Towers of crystals form when he attempts a spell.
This came up in my suggested page, awesome watching your reactions now in 2021 knowing everything that’s come since
It's great to see something completely different from marvel. I can't wait to see this in 3D. I'm even looking forward to seeing this trailer on the big screen. Its too bad the GOTG Vol 2 footage from comic con won't be released.
Yeah it sucks we can't get Thor: Ragnarok or SpiderMan Homecoming footage
+Mad Genius I know I wanted to see that Spiderman and gotg footage so bad. the thor stuff was mostly concept art
+Fullmetal Asian Somebody had to have recorded it. They will probably put it up in the next month or so because if they were to post it now it would be taken down. I saw the deadpool footage last year but it was only up for a couple of weeks. Just keep checking!

I subscribed when it was like 18k people , now its almost 100k - amazing! Love your vidz guys , you ar awesome! Lots of love from israel!
That cape flow tho ❤️. Work it, Cumberbatch!
Tilda Swinton was also the White Witch in the Narnia series as well as in the incredible Snowpiercer with Chris Evans (which i highly recommend!!!)
Man. It’s 2022 now. I just watched Multiverse of madness. So simple, now madness.
"Damn, he looks so good!" Hell yeah, he does. 😏
Even Dr. Strange has admited in previous iterations that there is no such thing as magic, though there are unknown mystical forces
FYI Tilda also portrayed the White Witch in the a Chronicles of Narnia films.
This got recommended to me and I thought it was a trailer for the new one
That cape part was dope, seriously, and it was less effects than the buildings folding in on itself...
Did u know Dr Strange was mentioned on Captain America: Winter War Soldier??? When Steve, Natasha, and Sam were interrogating the guy that knew about 'Project Insight' and he naming off name as target. He said 'Stephen Strange'.
Jasper Sitwell was his name.
Now I remember! Thx!!! X3
The fact that Calvin said wrecked his lambo and not Shane is surprising

I misread this as Doctor strange 2 trailer and I got overly excited
Aaron Whiting same
same
How many people thought this was multiverse of madness but kept watching anyway
To Eric: When you said "Have not seen a one of them," were you talking about Firefly/Serenity? If so, you should do a reaction to them. Trust me, you'll love them.
thanks guys!! this is awesoke so looking forward to this.
did you guys get my facebook thank you message?
And Tilda Swinton for the 90th time was in Narnia (White Witch) and Constantine (Gabriel).
Shanes like what language are they talking
Call me biased, but of all the trailers (save LEGO Batmann) this one is the inky ones that's got me truly hyped.
Doctor Strange is gonna be the doorway to the magic/mystic realm.
In the original comics it's a cloak of levitation. When the doctor's not wearing it the cloak just floats in a corner. He can also control how it moves.
it's also hinted in the oath that it's semi sentient when Wong says that his cloak hs a favorite closet it likes to hide in
it's also hinted in the oath that it's semi sentient when Wong says that his cloak hs a favorite closet it likes to hide in
+Fullmetal Asian lol
When can we expect some videos of Eric drawing some stuff? That was a Patreon goal right? And where did the podcasts go?
Took a small break from the podcast because we were all really busy these last two weeks with Vacations and Comic-con. It should return this weekend sometime.

Dr. Strange vs. Dr. Fate = best magical duel ever!!!!!!
even though im a marvel fan Doctor Fate would kick Strange's ass cause he's so powerful (and more badass)
+Christian Raddclife since they can jump universes they should make it a thing
+Christian Raddclife I think so. I just think that Dr. Strange would at least put up a good fight. Also, it depends on who the host of Dr. Fate is (the entity I am talking about).
+Christian Raddclife Yea because being more badass definitly helps when fighting. Lol Dr Strange is the most powerful Marvel character in his prime you must not read his comics.
+Isaiah Glass I do read his comics, but you obviously haven't read the doctor fate comics. And why are you getting butt hurt over fictional superhero
Great reaction video, guys!
I look forward to watching your film review of DOCTOR STRANGE after you all see it.
Great reactions. And so much geek handsomeness.
Kaleidoscope man hehehe... This movie is going to be awesome.

Dr. Strange is my fave!! It was such a great movie, can't wait for the sequel. 💥💥
You guys should react to the trailers of 'American Gods' and 'Legion'. Bryan Fuller and Noah Hawley will be the kings of TV next year..
sees time and space bent sideways: "Ooooooohhhh". Sees Strange put on cape: "OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH"... logical
Damn guys, this popped up in my recommended again, thought that said Doctor Strange 2. So disappointed!....watch again anyway
Canibalteaspoon159 Me too and I had a mini heart attack 😂
Guys, when will you react to the TWD season 7 trailer?
1:19 This guy is a prophet.
Reaction starts at 2:30
Coming from doctor strange 2, doctor strange was sooooo much better
The Trailer Supreme!
Dr. Hannibal Lecter vs Doctor Strange!!!! That's crazy
I saw this movie in 3d and I tell you the truth that the 3d version actually makes the movie even better.
They forgot all about Scarlet Witch having a sort-of magic. It's psychic powers really, but pretty damn close
I had to watch the whole trailer before watching these guys reacting to it.
we are in the Endgame now...
at least someone laughed at the wifi joke
I'M. SO. EXCITED.
How you know someone's played Marvel vs Capcom: when they know Shuma Gorath is a Dr Strange villain
they called the Doctor Strange and Thor thing : )
the Eye of Agamotto will be the time gem, just so everyone knows
THAT SCORE THOUGH!
In physics, there is string theory, which says we live, in our reality, in and around 11 dimensions. Right now, all around us are 11 dimensions. Cloak of Levitation was awesome!
There is another new Marvel movie trailer from the SDCC called Legion.
I actually know that it's a show, I have no idea why I wrote movie.. xD
Oh gawd... I forgot this was going to be in 3D... easy stomach...
And just to be a word nerd: it's a cloak, not a cape. 😊
It's kinda like the scene when the tesseract from Interstellar was unfolding itself.
Honestly after we got see the cosmic side of Marvel in Guardians Of the Galaxy, I was so excited to see the magic side of Marvel.
acid and imax. this movie will fuck you up!
and 3D. prepare to be labatomized

BossLeveL999 it would look amazing
Well Mijolnir is technology so high developed and metaphysical that it is basically magic. It isn´t actually made from a star and very heavy. It manipulates gravity and energy.
@2:27 -- for the trailer...
Why it looks that behind Eric there's a Ebony Maw funko pop from the Avengers Infinity War Wave?
When he said Avengers Tower i couldnt find it. Where was it?
Now thats what you call a perfect cast snyder
Are you guys also doing the trailer for the Legion tv show?
Reminds me of Dark City & Inception aka epic movies.... (To me at least) I hope they do them justice
I swear to god, that if they make the Eye Of Agamotto an Infinity Stone, I will be soooo mad. It basically makes The Sorcerer Supreme's most powerful magical item not magical and therefore a fraud.
so much "woah" for one trailer!
You guys have any future plans with starting series like Vikings or The 100 ?
That Thor technology/magic stuff doesn't hold up at all. The Asgardians are clearly magical in a ton of ways. Heimdall literally sees everywhere in the nine realms at any time.
