Isn't Stromae SO cool?! What did you learn about this musical maestro? 😉
he is a swiftie, a motopapi AND a billie stan!? WE LOVE
The wonderful and creative gift he gave his wife in New York. So awesome! 🙂❤
For me he is the best artist in all the world 🌎, the most different and creative star of this generation
That a talented guy could be aspiring !
5'5 is NOT 1m70 lmao, who's behind that poorly done research
"When you start to be a hater, maybe it's the right time to do yourself something." That's the best advice I've heard in years.
He's so open.
Wise words for a great artist
But what do you do when your hate is towards your own self?
@@janam.c.s76 his advice still applies then. But it is a process so don’t be discouraged even if the progress isn’t visible immediately. :) also maybe get some outside help from a professional to speed it up a little
@@janam.c.s76 Is it everything about you? Or parts of you?
So this is what I gather from this interview: Stromae is Belgian, who grew up around Turks, Moroccans, Congolese, and Rwandans, loves LA weather, speaks French, Flemish, Spanish and English, is inspired by Japanese, Ethiopian and South American music, collaborates with Chinese musicians, would like to work with Colombian, American and English singers, enjoyed performing in Montreal (Canada), and loves Mexican food. A real man of the world.
Haha thanks. Saved me some time
I especially love him for this open mind of his ~
Flemish not so much 😂
No wonder why Sante reminded me of the music from Moroccan musicians like Omer Avital and Mexican musicians like Lila Downs
@@minukarodrigo also peruvian music with "charango", he said that he inspired by the music of Bolivia, which was part of Perú years ago. I hope that he would be able to try peruvian food at some point.
Stromae is such a legend people who haven’t found his music don’t know what they’re missing
Preach!
Just found his music and I’m here wishing I understood his language
Such a beautiful voice 🥺
People know his song but don’t the singer
I listen to Carmen almost daily :}
I just found it ! I’m glad I did
"I'm an old boy now, so I need to sleep" 😂😂😂 As a fan I already knew the answers to most of those questions, but... I see Stromae, I click 😉 Also I love the way he talks about his wife 🥺
◢ ◤
His whole vibe when he read the are you single question. 😅 He seemed almost offended that the person didn’t know of her existence. ❤
@@sandrabarocio59he shut it down so quickly, huge respect
Fr he’s so sweet
He's so sincere and honest!
That's so rare
thats Belgian people for you
Authentisch
No BS
A collaboration between Adele and Stromae would be INCREDIBLE 🙌✨😍
Yesss that would be awesome.
Naaah not a fan of adele
so much!!
Or with Mon Laferte,Nathy Peluso,Juanes
@@DElionel1995 OK AND?
As a fairly new fan of Stromae I have to say I’m quite surprised by how incredibly down to earth, humble, honest & relaxed he seems in this video. Very impressed with multi-linguistic skills. He also doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously like some artists have a tendency to do these days. Terrific video!
It's cool to watch his English getting better over time, especially now that he's really blowing up in English-speaking countries.
I'm a huge fan of Stromae, I might even say I have seen almost all his interviews available. But this one has to be one of the most interesting/fun cause it seems like a very casual coffee conversation. It was a very insightful interview and learned more about my favorite artist. Merci Fuse!

X2🙋🏿♀️
I love that he's not trying to be pretentiously profound
He's himself
I love how honest he is and he admits to these feelings of jealousy and hatred and turns them into good. His music is amazing and his motives even better. Merci Stromae, vous etes le meilleur chanter💯
That's "chanteur" - male singer. "chanteuse" - female singer
"chanter" is the infinitive form of "to sing"
Oh my god I could watch 2000 hours of this. He’s so real.
“… in A city called Brussels” 😂😂😂 he mentioned it as if it’s a super random city and he was explaining to aliens.
I’m in Canada and don’t even know what’s going on there 😅😅😅
@@mssabou I meant that he explained it as if people watching him were uneducated and dont know about this city. But maybe overseas ppl dont know it
@@svetla1star nah it's the other way around. Americans don't know even basic geography
@@AaaAaa-we3ft well thats what I meant basically, but was just trying to phrase it in a more… nicer way 😂
Technically it is quite random. Belgium is a small country that hardly comes up in international news.
Wow his English is so good. I like that he says his wife is his best friend. I saw a video of him being harassed in his car once while he was eating and he was so polite to these idiots who were being so rude. So calm. Shows what kind of a person he is. He’s so talented too. Proper artist.
Thats because we dutch/Belgium people have English in our standard class package in school..we learn English before any other language
I absolutely love this guy. I’m genuinely proud of his success (has nothing to do with my heritage at all 😂)
"I'm an old boy now so I need my sleep" - as a fellow millenial I feel so seen.
So glad to see him back and doing his stuff, I've missed his art.
The music is fantastic but the lyrics did me in. If you don't understand french and think Stromae is just party music... You're wrong. His raps are super real; goosebumps and tears real. I compare him (like many do and was not my idea) to Jacques Brel. Glad to have this icon back on the scene
People need to translate at least some of his songs to understand how much of a mastermind he really is.. like papaoutai or tous les mêmes for example he is a genius
@@m00nchxld8 papoutai means nothing to english speakers. it's not a word even in french but "papa ou tu est" means "dad where are you" it's about absent fathers. You are right, they should subtitle these vids
@@jwn0be that's exactly what I meant it's a play on 2 words that the English speakers totally missed.. Formidable is one of my faves "tu étais formidable j'étais fort minable" ugh chef's kiss!! He is so talented.
I thought of the same thing , he’s the Modern day jacquel brel
Yes he really reminds me of Jacques Brel too
I’m shocked he’s 38. This man is almost 40 but looks like he’s in his 20’s wow
He is soooo confident and relaxed - like only truely happy people are)) I love it))
In the 7 years I've listened to his music this is the first time I've heard him speak english, it's so good!
Paul van Haver itself sounds like a very cool name
As a Dutch person hearing him talk Dutch I was AMAZED AT STROMAE
Stromae is genius. His music is so good and he is humble and kind guy 🤙🏼👍🏼
5:50 i've never seen an interview that touches this topic, the bad aspects of being a human being and accepting that you are wrong but can change direction, i appreciate Stromae for being so honest here, each time i learn more about him i realise he is an incredible artist, really someone to look up to!
Not a lot of people can say that they're jealous. Stromae you've got real balls dude
This video just made me a bigger fan of Stromae. He is so kind, humble, and honest. I have a great deal of respect of him as an artist. Praying he gets his collab with Adele.
This man is so devoted to his craft and his wife - he gets it. I hope he writes a book one day. He has a lot to say and I think the World wants to hear it💜
Two things:
1. 5:47 this was SO profound that I had to think it over a couple of times
2. I’m so glad he mentioned the Montreal crowd as his favorite because I must’ve watched this concert five times and it’s seriously one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, just on RUclips. Watch it ASAP if you like Stromae.
soooo good
Can you send me the link because I don’t know how to search for it

Man I wish I was there
Such a humble & interesting person. Not gonna lie when he was asked which music video was his favorite to shoot, i thought he’d answer “Formidable” 😂 that music video was smart, simple, and incredible.
Incredible video for sure, but not so simple to shoot. It was in fact quite difficult and a huge risk for him to expose himself like that in public, and he has said that he felt really nervous before the shoot and even depressed after...So yeah, an extraordinary music video but not his favourire to shoot!🙂😅
Wow he mentioned Ethiopian music. I didn't see that coming. I'm thinking about it now he might took some inspiration from our gem artist, aster aweke.
Dont forget Mulatu Astatke.
It surprised me too! I'm so happy to see our music become more known!! There are so many amazing Ethiopian artists to get inspiration from!
I'm glad to see him in more interviews and videos like this
Man, as a younger kid his music always put me at a really good place mentality, I happen to hear his song at at this old Belgian market while shopping and reminded me the happiness his music would bring and for me and to find out we share birthdays makes me fanboy even more
Every-time i hear his music i want to dance. It raises your vibrations like no other. Absolutely my one and only favorite artist. And he loves Adele which i do too.
Hello fellow birthday sharer
i'm a simple woman, I see Stromae I click
Amen
Stromae and Rosalía would be just perfection!!!!
So polite, and funny. I love him 💖
I listen to multitude everyday. I love him. Much love from this Mexican girl in California. I wish you more success. Your music touches my heart ❤
I love him so much 😂 „when you start being a hater maybe it‘s time to do music yourself“
He is the sweetest, kindest, humblest man on earth ❤️❤️❤️ he deserves the whole universe and more 🥺🥺🥺
Squad, you know: We see Stromae, we click.
Once you go Stromae you never go back

Such a genuine and talented person. I love Stromae
When he said Montreal as his favourite place to perform, I can't help but get more excited for his show this November.
Omg same! My jaw dropped when he said Montreal 😍

One of my favourite artists of all times. His music really soothed me when I moved abroad at 18 to study in France- it was as if I had a friend by my side.
Stromae is a genius and genuine. Love from Malaysia. Love your songs esp Formidable,it keeps ringing in my head.
Stromae seems like such a perfect wonderful human being. Im such a fan of his work. ♡
Every culture he named in Brussels, you can hear in his music ❤
J Balvin and Stromae would be INSANE. 2 of the best representatives of 2 of my favorite genres together, it would BLOW UP!
🤯
He looks so cute
Le roi de la Belgique!! Je suis très contente que tu est de retour 🥺🥰
His honesty is what has won my R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for this amazing Artist. I wish to meet him one day. God bless him, his lovely wife and extremely loved Baby Boy. 🇵🇷
Me gusta la parte que dice "Puedo hablar un poquito español, pero no muy bien". Lo amo. 😘
Amo su sinceridad pero la verdad el español muy bien
stromae speaking spanish is chef´s kiss
Me encanta como habla español
My French teacher probably wrote most of these, since he is a HUGE Stromae fan (such a fan that we had to sing TWO of his songs in class).
Love this guy. I must see him live, I don't think I want to see anyone live as much as him.
Me the same. He is coming to NYC in November want to go see him.
I never buy concert tickets but I got his and I'm stoked
He's superb! A must see
Even his real name is iconic, dang
So rarely get to hear him share his life in English, great video! Love him and his music has greatly helped my French acquisition 💞
Awww stromae is so sweet and i am
so glad, he mentioned Ethiopian music ❤
This guy deserves every bit of blessings he gets.....what a beautiful soul❤
he's so down to earth and im glad he has such a lovely family! i had heard he struggled with some anxiety and stuff so it's nice to hear about all the good things in his life!
the struggle with anxiety and suicidal thoughts were triggered by a medicine he took to prevent malaria when he was on the African leg of his tour (if not mistaken, it happened in Rwanda, the country of his father).
He earned a new fan today! 💜
Love the beautiful way he collaborates with his wife and friends and how he takes inspiration from many different places. Stromae is so intelligent too, he speaks so many languages!! Brava! I hope to see him live one day! :)
Funny how he speaks English almost as perfectly as a native speaker...
I was impressed with his fluency myself!
That's what Europeans call "just a bit of English" lmao
@@Aronora That's true
wouldn't call wrong grammar and use of words is as perfect as native but you do you bro
@@Aronora So true! Stromae's fluency is English as an european is not a surprise.
What a wonderful person! He's wife is a lucky woman!
She sure is. They are great together. Should have at least 5 kids.
He is just adorable! Imo kind, polite, true, sensitive, caring and smart!
I’m so happy he’s back!!
He is such a lovely human. I wish only the best for him.
this is my favorite interview of him - how open he was, his english, his funny remarks. so so good
He is such a family man! Love it
This guy is extremely talented. I just found him from his song ‘Mon Amour‘ I’m glad I know enough French to enjoy his catalogue.
Y’all remember when he married himself? That’s crazy but iconic
He`s adorable....Love him
Been a fans for years without understanding the language in which he speaks!! He won me over with the video Formidable and he has great original style! I just have to say with the greatest respect, I find him beautiful in looks and with personality! Wish you even more success ✌🏾N much ❤️
he is such a kind heart i’m glad i found out about him!
He speaks Spanish so well
Soothing voice in Spanish too ❤
Such an humble men.
He's so right. The moment you start hating on others, it's time to create
I really like that he is involved in South America and Mexico, Spanish and stuff! He is a person of the world
He should collaborate with J balvin and bad bunny!

Hi from Japan:-)
I find it interesting how Stromae finds inspiration for music all over the world. Before this interview, I never knew the Japanese artist he metioned - Ikue Asazaki.
I love the message on jealousy.
I love how he thinks, his honesty & wit made his answers surprising & interesting each time!
I have heard Stromae songs when i was growing up but discovered him very recently.. i presume he is such a humble and honest guy .. what a good start to be a fan ☺️

Loved learning about the origin of his artist name and also loved hearing him mention La Rosalia because she and Stromae are my favorite artists currently.
Listening to the man talk just give off such awesome vibes. His music is amazing.

I like how he tried to explain verlan (the fou vs ouf and maestro versus stromae) 😆 I speak French fluently so I don’t need it explained but it’s very confusing to the Anglophones/Americans and I’ve given up trying to explain how it works
Ouais! De ouf! :-)
You could tell Americans it’s like pig latin without the “ay” ending.
If you don’t know, pig latin works like this - igpay atinlay orksway ikelay isthay.
@@youtubename7819 Kind of. Some of the backwards syllable words aren’t spelled backwards the way they should like femme is meuf (not mefem) and fête is teuf (not tefê). It’s hard to explain.
