I remember a 1994 interview with Lemmy where he said he wanted to tour with the Ramones with the Damned as an opening act! I am so sorry that triple bill never materialized.
I agree. When pretty much no one cared about the Ramones, Lemmy wore badges promoting them. With both Ramones and Lemmy gone, rock is poorer and will never be the same.
Brian James gave a huge contribution to the Damned, after many years from the first and second LP, the band still playing his songs . Neat neat neat !!!!
I was there, met Lemmy for the one and only time after the gig, caught in the Lemmy film. Historic stuff. Just saw the Damned in Birmingham and Captain said 'this was Lemmy's favourite' before going into Neat Neat Neat.
I remember Lemmy he was totally into the Mopeds 40 years ago, you could almost gaurantee he would he would be waiting in our dressing after we come offstage in the late 70's before Motorhead took off. they were our record company stablemates, before they got poached from Chiswick Records, and signed a bigger record label Bronze.
Lemmy crushed Neat, Neat, Neat!!! I saw him with the Ramones. AP leisure to have seen him with Motorhead but I would of loved to have seen him with the DAMNED for a show!!!!
It did indeed happen. After the damned split after Music For Pleasure, they reformed without James and put Sensible on lead. Lemme played bass for quite a while with them doing tours etc.
Micckymac 6571, did you see Algy Ward on bass? I think he was great . I saw the first time the Damned in April 1980 with Paul Gray , the second time during the 90's with Patricia Morrison

Fine, but what the hell would the run order be, they can't all headline! 🤣

Lemmy, the real king of rock n roll.
Lemmy play and turn in concert with the Damned in 1978. Project called "Motördamned" or Doömed".... One single exist about this collaboration.
Chris thanks, I am aware of the collaboration. Motörhead also collaborated with Girlschool, the Straycats and the Pink Fairies.

What a little treat to stumble on, on youtube, fantastic
Classic gig, this one. £27 to see Girlschool, Damned and Motorhead and each band member jamming with one of the others. Great stuff.
I remember in the early 80’s seeing both Motorhead and the Damned in the Cornwall Colosseum - both great gigs.

Seen the damned in 79 when I was 18, sad when the young bloods of yesterday turn into the cabaret artists of today. Happens to most bands I suppose.
What do you do in your life then?
The Damned are writing great new material
