- The latest conservative commentator to be “cancelled” this week was the legendary Mark Steyn after he left GB News, according to Sky News host Cory Bernardi.
“Steyn was effectively driven out because he was asked to indemnify the broadcaster from any legal claims arising from his commentary, particularly that which was questioning the safety and efficacy of the COVID vaccines,” Mr Bernardi said.
“I perfectly understand why GB News don't want to spend their precious resources on frivolous group think complaints by hateful lefties and woke whingers, but this is actually surrendering to the mob.
“The way the world is going, we will not have a free media left, just regurgitators of official lines and government propaganda.”

Ofcim is very powerful. Gbnews has to pay it's bills with advertising or it won't survive. This is about lawyers protecting corporate interests.
I also enjoyed the commentators on GB News...sad news but not surprising...now, if they decide to pull Neil or Neil himself (hopefully) will walk away, they will eventually go down in viewership, so they will lose what they are trying so hard to hold onto to...a news station with zero credibility...game over...

I have lost all belief in GB News' editorial integrity in the light of the appalling behaviour towards Mark Steyn.
The hard and uncomfortable truth is that all the other, remaining presenters are contaminated and complicit in this jackboot crushing of free speech. These self-serving moral cowards turn my stomach. It is shameful beyond measure.

I stand with Mark. A breath of fresh air with his passionate honesty. I use to watch GB news on a morning, but now I will only watch when Neil Oliver & Laurence Fox are doing their slots, the only two presenters that have discussed what has happened to Mark

We will miss Mark Steyn on GB News immensely. But at the end of the day it is not the only broadcasting station. Our hearts and souls are with Mark. We always admire those who are brave enough to stand up to injustice. I am sure we will hear from Mark soon. Such persons are invincible

Our problem in the U.K. is the malignant influence of Offcom it says it’s even handed but it’s not. Free speech is on its death bed. Mark Steyne was the best of journalists, not afraid to challenge the narrative so we will miss him, but others are in there sights so watch this space.

My guess (and hope) is that GB news will lose substantial revenue because viewers like me will stop watching and this will over the long term effect adverting revenue.
What advertising revenue? Any break I've seen on GBN is just trailers for GBN progs and presenters.

I lost my job of 21 years as a City of Brampton (Ontario) bus operator on Dec.1, 2021 to the mandates. I have the Twitter video put out 6 months later by the Mayor in which he (Sneaky Patrick Brown) and my union president both state that "No City of Brampton employees lost their job to covid mandates". They lie and get away with it. We tell the truth and get cancelled.

Very telling how he was disqualified from the federal PC leadership race (so Poilievre could garner an even brighter image) but that party waited until the day after the Ontario Municipal Elections to declare that Brown was being fined 100K for being naughty. Brown was re-elected as mayor the day before.
@@WindTurbineSyndrome It's almost impossible to sue as a union member and lawyers aren't cheap. My corrupt union gave me an arbitration hearing and I signed the crappy deal which gave me my job back along with my seniority but no back pay or pension top up and which changed my "termination for cause" into "an unpaid disciplinary suspension". It was as I was fulfilling some preconditions that I saw the liars on Twitter and informed all concerned that I would not return to work as a result.
Instead I filed a complaint with the Ontario Labour Relations Board against my union and retained counsel. There's a mediation meeting March 9 and it will be interesting to see what the city offers. Since I have hard evidence of a conflict of interest they'll have to offer something. All the unions were complicit in the evil scheme and I can only tell you that the reasons go all the way to the top of the Canadian Labour Congress. I'm only one person and won't be able to do much about that. My hope is to do as much cleaning up in my own back yard as possible.
I love Mark. He was my fave sub host for Rush LImbaugh's show and Mark is brilliant on his own. I despise the left and the woke jerktards for pushing out people who are truthful and honest. We cannot let them win. We must stay strong and collectively work to inform people with the truth.
