    Your video reminds me of my first car I painted, 1978 black Monte Carlo, did the same thing you did but back then , 83-84, I was a clean up kid at this body shop came in, cleaned up the shop, delivered cars and ran parts, the slowly let me strip cars, wet sand and put cars back together. After work i stripped my Monte to bare metal all under the supervision of a painter that worked there. Great experience
    My car looked like the car in the movie Training Days
    Miss that car

    The one thing I like about your channel is you keep that shit real when you’re not that comfortable the way it comes out you’re like got to work on it one day you’re going to be great you’re really good now but you’re going to be great

      I really appreciate it 🙏 I'm trying to share what my thought process is as I'm progressing in my build. I'm hoping that my mistakes can help someone else.

    Spray the top first and work your way down to avoid leaning on wet paint.

    Guide coat it and then block it again and then use feather fill primer and block it again

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  Год назад +1

      That's what I did, but I used Polyester primer. Which is the same.

    Out of curiosity, how come you didn't make patch panels where those holes were at?

    Just curious why you would fill the holes with bondo and not weld fill them.
    I’m not criticizing I seriously wondering because I’m about to do a 78 with a couple cancer holes below the rear windows

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  3 года назад +2

      If I had a welder handy I would have spot welded the small holes. For the slightly bigger ones I would have still used the bondo glass and screen to fill them. These areas are not structural so I didn't worry so much about them.

      @@StillStandingGarage thank you for helping me understand. My knowledge is primarily useless bullshit and helicopter mechanics, so I’m going at this with no idea lol. Again, much appreciated
      Edit: mine is the white with red carpet and dash but white pleather seats, door panels and head liner. Strangest combination I’ve ever seen
