I started driving slower…. Like the actual speed limit : ) and I could not believe how much more relaxed I became. I even test it out by speeding, competing, trying to beat the yellow lights and I feel the anxiety and even hostility begin to rise. A teenager told my son “I hate the way your mom drives” and I got such a laugh out of that because I was such a fast and raging driver before, and now I love driving again. ❤
I love the bit about simplifying your meals because it’s something I do struggle with. I would love a video of you meal planning or your go to meals! ❤️
Same, and beyond that, I prep my meals throughout the day. I'm a stay-at-home, work-at-home mom and I have been for 15 years. I realized not long ago that waiting until mealtime to prep my meal for that night was just nonsense. As I'm typing this, I have my chicken breasts sliced in half and seasoned, sitting in the fridge, ready to be seared off at dinnertime. My rice is already rinsed and in the pot ready to be turned on. I have steamable broccoli that I can just pop in the microwave. Dinner WOULD have taken me 45 minutes or so between cook times and cleanup times, but now that I've prepped it all early and washed up the handful of dishes as I needed to, it'll take me maybe 15 minutes to get it done, on the table, and the dishes into the dishwasher (that I am SO BLESSED to have! I just got it a few months ago and it's the first time I've ever had one! YAY!) . I just did a little at a time throughout the day as I was passing through the kitchen and it's completely relieved that stress of having to cook and clean for 45 minutes to an hour all at once, and I'm here for it.
Before slow living was a thing, I thought I was just weird. Especially when I was a teen. Nowdays I actively seek ways to slow down every day and enjoy my time on earth. I even film slow living vlogs now. The most important thing is to have the intention to slow down. Everything else will come. Just don't expect change to come overnight. Take your time and adapt to a new lifestyle and see what works for you or not. Take care everyone ❤️ great video!
Another tip that has helped me loads in life -- after sunset, use only dim lighting and avoid anything bright. It's helped my feminine energy (I firmly believe the female body and cycle is closely related to the circadian rhythm) and helped me fall asleep naturally.
As a struggling teacher, I really needed this. Thank you for helping me on this journey in recognizing and battling discontent in my daily life and building a relationship with God.
I started loving being a SAHM so much more when I actually stayed home more often. I was completely overbooking our schedule and I was SO overwhelmed. Intentionally slowing down and leaving room for rest makes such a difference. Thanks for sharing these ideas!
Watched this while organizing kids clothes and felt a nudge to disconnect and be alone in the quiet with my thoughts. So I ended the video after a few tips and am turning off my phone for the night! Your content is inspiring. Thank you 💕
This video also made me think about the season of life i am still in breastfeeding a toddler..breastfeeding one thing I didn't think of or know in the beginning that I learned at a breastfeeding support group is how breastfeeding forces you to slow down..to rest..to just be present with your baby. That is so beautiful and a gift. Unfortunately, that didn't occur to me during breastfeeding my infants..I didn't have that perspective and I had that anxious want to get back to normal get back to doing frustration you feel during that post partumn period which can also be isolating. I didn't have that beautiful wisdom that the body needs you to slow down to recover. Hearing you say that about fast walking made me think about how I have operated from this place of constantly multi tasking..and fear of missing out...missing out on a deal at the store or fear of missing out on a piece of knowledge on social media or a needed product. Fear of missing out is real and it rules many of us.
Your videos are a gift❤️ Hurry hurts. Love and intention take time…yet it’s so hard to slow down. I recently shortened my daily to-do list to three things. I love the idea of using weekends to rest and re-charge. Thank you again for meaningful content that matters. ❤️
Thank you, some beautiful ideas. 💕 I have viewed Sundays as my day off work to catch up on all the household tasks (I have a long list of Sunday tasks!) so I never actually have a rest day. As soon as you pointed it out, a lightbulb went off and I immediately culled that list and now plan to have a true rest day. Thank you.
Hi, first my heartfelt thanks for you at right time, the way u talk make me stop nd listen to you while I’m struggling with so much of wounds nd anxiety, ur more own nd natural way of life so beautiful, have a great day 😊
Loved this video. Never thought about it, but my kids (3 years, 18 months) do walk slowly, and I can use that as inspiration for slowing down myself! Love my Mudita clock- thanks so much for the Rec and code 🙏🏽❤️
I always light a candle in the living room towards the evening and one in the bathroom a few hours before I shower. Love them! But it’s starting to get expensive to light them up everyday 🫤
Thanks for another lovely, inspiring, peaceful video! I love the simple meals tip. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do and I used to plan fancy dishes from magazines and the Internet. Lately an intense season of parenting teens has forced me to be ok cooking simple meals; healthy, cheap, fresh but simple. A friend of mine made a week meal plan of super easy meals they enjoyed and made that for months during a difficult time. It took the whole weight of food off her mind. Smart!
I am on my phone WAY too much during the day (and especially in the evening). Thanks for the motivation to trade my phone for candle light and a book last night!
I've been thinking about simplifying meals. It just takes so much time. And cellphone is my distraction. I like to listen and learn something from RUclips. I think I just have to turn it off so I won't get distracted. Thank you for this video! ❤️🙏
I really needed to watch this. I'm in a super busy season (start of a new school year as a teacher!). This was a great reminder to slow down... with very practical tips!
I would like more videos on simple meals as someone who is always questioning different healthy ways of eating and elimination diets for my autoimmunity...I have said to myself just make a list of meals and keep it simple but something about that makes me feel fearful.
The slowing your walk down is something that I’m always trying. City life has made me walk & talk way too fast. Need to copy the Caribbean folks body language & chill more
I just found your channel, it was recommended to me on RUclipss home page. This couldn’t have come at a better time for me, in a place where I want to simplify and create more peace in my home. Thank you for sharing your journey 🤍 this was very inspiring to watch.
Hi! Love these simple tips. Can you share what kind of meals you do for dinner? I also have two sons and a husband and I find that making dinner is my least favorite part of the day 😅 I want that to change! Would love a video on your go-to dinners.
I almost broke my brain with hurry and stress and overwork. Literally had symptoms of brain cancer and MS for years. There were times I thought I was going to die from not sleeping. My brain wouldn't stop buzzing. (Magnesium, GABA, and lots of extra salt calm me down.)Since my youngest is 9, I now can get out of bed and start my day in a relaxed way most days. I home school but I still have to get up early and get moving out of the house 2 days a week, but for the rest of my week I no longer make early appointments. I am very thankful that my husband works so hard and I can be home.
I love your videos, Margaret! I've been influenced by you to make a video of declutter. Don't have the proper tools to record it yet, but i'm going to do it and post it anyways. Have a blessed week!
Our eyes have been opened to far too much and we want it all, and thats just not healthy full stop. I am glad in my growing up expectations were alot more grounded, we simply didn,t have access to it all. We were alot more content and happier and alot more grateful. I just keep telling myself i cannot have it all and i have enough, the internet is invassive and controlling and i need to take back that ground. Thank you Margaret bless you and your family/
I'm a mom of 6. I have always been behind, always begging God to help me get more organized, always overworked. But several years ago I decided to stop speeding when driving, and also I stopped hurrying through the grocery store. That was really hard!!!
This is a little off subject but is your room painted a green color? It looks very calming! If you know the name of the paint color I would be so appreciative to know. Love all the tips as well!
Hi Margaret, I love your videos! Do you have a recommendation for an EMF blocking phone case? I've been using Smart Sleeve and it really helps but it wifi doesn't always go through properly. Thanks!
I've heard that people who walk faster tend to live longer than people who walk slower. But I also believe that walking slowly has it's mental benefits. So, just keep a healthy balance between the two.
I'm so gonna live this lifestyle but a sidenote the people around us make life stressful with them being uncouth and uncivilised now I understand why rich folks live far away from certain types of people
100% agree ~ I believe I’m a good person & have good intentions, but it’s the behaviour of others that always ruins my positive bubbly vibe. When people are being anti social say, it’s not as easy as it sounds. I dream constantly of winning the lottery and moving far away from the dregs!

😂😂😂
I have the same experience! And it does not make a huge difference in time!
And now I feel so sorry for those stressed-out drivers on the road...
I love the bit about simplifying your meals because it’s something I do struggle with. I would love a video of you meal planning or your go to meals! ❤️
Yes! I second the meal planning video!
Me too! I’d love that, also
Yes please!!!
I would love a video on this!

Man, your intro really hit me! Mother of 1, working part time. Feel like we have had colds, bugs etc all year.

So enjoy you and your sweet content!💜 😊 I thought I saw a video of you talking about your skin care routine some time ago ? but I can't find it 😵

Please share with us where you purchase non toxic candles. I miss candles but have just avoided them secondary to fear of them being toxic

I love this
Hi Margaret, I love your videos! Do you have a recommendation for an EMF blocking phone case? I've been using Smart Sleeve and it really helps but it wifi doesn't always go through properly. Thanks!
I like Kats Krystals phone accessories. It's what I have on my phone!
I don’t really like candles but I love to sit with my oil lamp and just sit.
thanks for using my song in your video!

If you switch your WiFi off, do you have to login completely on everything...Netflix, computer, phones?
I'm so struggling with this. My mind never slows down.
how do you stay in shape! you look stunning

YES! I am working out a bit more so I'm working on the scheduling of that rather than just wearing my gym clothes until I workout!
Just here to make sure you're still wearing dresses 😅! lol
Is it bad that I watched this video on double speed? 😄
