The bolts you released are just for the lid. All except the special bolt. It goes further down. It is the lower boots you are supposed to loosen, and then iust tap the pump very slightly.
So just loose the special bolt the triangle bolt and hit it? Do you need to loosen the other 3? Mines is lower limit and needs to come up. Please help. Thanks
Good video Once you get it close to your setting MANUALY you can change it using the Ross Tech cable , it will be stored in your ECM ,My 1.9 TDI Ross tech program will only take it down to 3.5 so I have to adjust it manually ! {Take it down more at the pump} ,Then fine tune it with the Ross-Tech program HEX-V2 ! Hope i make sense
How low are you trying to get? I usually set the settings with vcds to stock numbers and then do the hammer mod to adjust close to there you want it. You then can adjust it up or down with vcds for a more accurate adjustment.
@@MK4moTDI I was trying to get 2.8-3.0 I could only take it down to 3.5 that's it ! it would go up to 15 and higher so much it almost flooded it's self ! So the pump had to be manually reset with the hammer then fine tune it with the Hex-V2 Where do you find the stock numbers.

Values way below 3 may make the engine revv to its max and maybe kill it. So there should always be a second person behind the wheel to turn the engine off while adjusting. Another point might be the VTG (variable turbine geometry) getting stuck from soot when injection quantity is too much.

Is 94.5c normal temperature? Mine used to sit at 90c 92c after a hard drive , after changing the thermostat it now sits at 93c to 97c driving hard uphill does this seem normal?

Will I be able to do this with the VCDS LITE version, not the free one but the $99 one ? My IQ is showing 12 mg/str in the free VCDS version. My 03 ALH is blowing a lot of white smoke. I already changed a bad turbo with bad fins and leaking oil. I'm assuming the car had a runaway because all the charge pipes and the EGR were soaked in oil. I just got the car 3 weeks ago for $1250. 190k miles.

The ‘hammer’ mod is to adjust pump timing when it’s out of VCDS parameters. A mechanically well timed pump should start immediately but if not adjusted within VCDS it may not run efficiently or well. The hammer ‘taps’ move the pump and increase or lower the IQ. If you can get it to within the spec range of VCDC you can then use the IQ adjustment(when you have tightened the screws/bolts on the pump) within VCDS to make fine adjustments to get the engine running correctly. Some minor adjustments can be used for more power or economy… Hope this makes sense.

Please someone reply me here, i need help, i measured the resistance on the pump conector, the pins 5-6 and 2-3 are correct resistance but 1-3 is out, not between 4.9 to 7.5 ohms, its showing 12ohms, so based on this manual service is saying to Replace pump, i put too much money on this stupid car, and i just lost my Job, can’t afford the crazy price of a new pump neither afford to pay for someone do the pump replacement. I am driveway car worker, iam not mechanic neither got the tools to pull the engine off, if id had to take pump off and mess up with all the timing belt stuff i could mess up it more.

I had other codes but also this only happened when i had to try hard jump start, the battery keeps dying. If i dont Use the car for like two days it dies the battery. 6 is a great number to aim for.

I do not believe it can damage the engine.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking the bottom one has some play in it the top is set.
Ya I wrote it in the video, but I think people are missing it. It is the lower bolts. I mistakenly pointed out the top ones.

Ya, the ALH engines are very efficient making them not get very hot.

I found between 3.2 and 6 to be the best.

You need to fix any dtc present before attempting modding.

It is the nicktane fuel filter set up.

There is a very good explanation for this on tdi club. Also too low is also not good. You want just the right amount.
