    The bolts you released are just for the lid. All except the special bolt. It goes further down. It is the lower boots you are supposed to loosen, and then iust tap the pump very slightly.

      So just loose the special bolt the triangle bolt and hit it? Do you need to loosen the other 3? Mines is lower limit and needs to come up. Please help. Thanks

    Good video
    Once you get it close to your setting MANUALY you can change it using the Ross Tech cable , it will be stored in your ECM ,My 1.9 TDI Ross tech program will only take it down to 3.5 so I have to adjust it manually ! {Take it down more at the pump} ,Then fine tune it with the Ross-Tech program HEX-V2 ! Hope i make sense

      How low are you trying to get? I usually set the settings with vcds to stock numbers and then do the hammer mod to adjust close to there you want it. You then can adjust it up or down with vcds for a more accurate adjustment.

      @@MK4moTDI I was trying to get 2.8-3.0
      I could only take it down to 3.5 that's it !
      it would go up to 15 and higher so much it almost flooded it's self !
      So the pump had to be manually reset with the hammer then fine tune it with the
      Hex-V2
      Where do you find the stock numbers.

    Great video. Andrea Manae had a good question. What would you consider the best numbers for fuel economy? Not looking to add more power. I have a 02 ALH Jetta TDI wagon. Thanks

    Will an incorrect injection quantity adjustment damage the engine or is it a drivability tuning issue?

      I do not believe it can damage the engine.

      Values way below 3 may make the engine revv to its max and maybe kill it. So there should always be a second person behind the wheel to turn the engine off while adjusting. Another point might be the VTG (variable turbine geometry) getting stuck from soot when injection quantity is too much.

    You're supposed to loosen the bottom bolts, not the top ones.

      Yeah that’s what I was thinking the bottom one has some play in it the top is set.

      Ya I wrote it in the video, but I think people are missing it. It is the lower bolts. I mistakenly pointed out the top ones.

    What are the symptoms of the timing being out at the pump? I mean can a person just drive a vehicle with ALH in it and tell that the pump’s timing is out? I don’t have VCDS but experiencing loss of power ,hence the question

    Is 94.5c normal temperature? Mine used to sit at 90c 92c after a hard drive , after changing the thermostat it now sits at 93c to 97c driving hard uphill does this seem normal?

      Ya, the ALH engines are very efficient making them not get very hot.

    Hello I hope you still read the comments :) I have a golf 4 1.9tdi ALH (90hp) with cat delete and egr delete also stage 1 tune. What should be my IQ? What is the normal for this setup? Also I want to upgrade my nozzles to .216 nozzles when I upgraded it should I upgrade my IQ to? and what should it be. I hope you answer. Thank youu :)

      I found between 3.2 and 6 to be the best.

      Seems high and might be adjustable via VCDS. I'm only familiar with VE ALH engine.

    It's the top piece???! FML! I marked the bottom section, not the top one when I took it apart and that's what I've been trying to adjust! Holy guacamole I am an imbecile! It's 4AM right now, got the battery trickle charging, I am excited AF to get out there and hopefully fix my car! I don't have the software, I can only start it with ether and it won't rev past 2k RPM at WOT. Virtually zero power if you try to actually move the vehicle it just dies.

    Will this solve the limp mode of tubro or faulty injection pump if the codes are shown. I have EGR delete.

      MK4mo TDI replaced new N75 code 16629 , still the same problem. 16600 - P0216 (N108) other come. N214 , I just need to replace the coolant thermostat valve.

    Will I be able to do this with the VCDS LITE version, not the free one but the $99 one ? My IQ is showing 12 mg/str in the free VCDS version. My 03 ALH is blowing a lot of white smoke. I already changed a bad turbo with bad fins and leaking oil. I'm assuming the car had a runaway because all the charge pipes and the EGR were soaked in oil. I just got the car 3 weeks ago for $1250. 190k miles.

    Hello I hope you still check the comments my IQ is at 20mg and that’s at running temp I just swapped my 10mm pump out to an 11mm and I’m getting the 20mg reading with the new pump in. If anyone has any ideas please lmk

    I've got mod out the ass never used vcds just a custom tune flashed what's the purpose of this hammer mod less or more fuel if it's more fuel any draw backs also y is it needed if it's less I understand I have 230 injectors I'm on my 3rd turbo lol car won't seem to run less than 30 psi at wot no matter wtf I do

      The ‘hammer’ mod is to adjust pump timing when it’s out of VCDS parameters. A mechanically well timed pump should start immediately but if not adjusted within VCDS it may not run efficiently or well. The hammer ‘taps’ move the pump and increase or lower the IQ. If you can get it to within the spec range of VCDC you can then use the IQ adjustment(when you have tightened the screws/bolts on the pump) within VCDS to make fine adjustments to get the engine running correctly. Some minor adjustments can be used for more power or economy…
      Hope this makes sense.

    Pleeeeeaaase someone explain me for gospd sake iv been watching lots of people saying that if the number of injection quantity is lower it gives you more power because it injects more fuel . BUT HOW A LOWER NUMBER CALLED INJECTION QUANTITY IT INJECTS MORE FUEL i mean it doesnt make ANY SENSE

    Please someone reply me here, i need help, i measured the resistance on the pump conector, the pins 5-6 and 2-3 are correct resistance but 1-3 is out, not between 4.9 to 7.5 ohms, its showing 12ohms, so based on this manual service is saying to
    Replace pump, i put too much money on this stupid car, and i just lost my
    Job, can’t afford the crazy price of a new pump neither afford to pay for someone do the pump replacement. I am driveway car worker, iam not mechanic neither got the tools to pull the engine off, if id had to take pump off and mess up with all the timing belt stuff i could mess up it more.

      Really? I will try them if i think i might. Did this fixed for long time? Still good? How long it lasted if didn’t last ? My codes didn’t come up again. I had other codes but also this only happened when i had to try hard jump start, the battery keeps dying. If i dont Use the car for like two days it dies the battery. So would this codes related to pump timing and crank timing come up on if the car is not starting when cranking? I need find out what is draining the battery
