    So much effort to have a picture of a polar bear. In the other hand the pictures of mother bear and her cubs are wonderfull and well worth the effort.
    Great video Roei, Thanks.

    Very insightful..very nicely produced, the energy level and the content just keep you glued..
    Q: How do you expose for White Polar Bear against White Background? How do you determine its not over/under 1/3 f stop and just right? Do u also get highlights blown? How do you view histograms in field - is it easy to see the screen?

    • @RoieGalitzLive
      @RoieGalitzLive  4 года назад

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.
      I use the right metering, meaning I expose for the 0. the fact that the camera has 14.5 stops of dynamic range allows me to get full range in the photo

    I love all the animals, with the exception of snakes (terrified by them). But I'm mostly fascinated by all cats (from biggest to smallest) and foxes: red foxes, arctic foxes and, above all, fennec foxes. Love these little guys!

    Great video, any recommendations for lenses 600mm 800mm white balance and focus setting and drive type?
    I am contemplating taking a Svalbard tour next April, in your opinion in Svalbard what is the best time of year to see polar bears with snow? As I am planning to use my life savings to get there.

    • @RoieGalitzLive
      @RoieGalitzLive  Год назад

      Hey Brian, thanks for reaching out.
      sure. WB isn't that important, since we're shooting RAW. focus is always on continuous and always shoot in continues mode.
      Svalbard is one of the most amazing places for that, but unfortunately tourism will become much more limited and restricted in years to come. April is the best time to reach there by snowmobiles, and I'm also guiding summer trips in private that I charter.
      you're welcome to get in touch info@galitz.com

    No real info on how to photograph! Like settings, exposure etc. Disappointing. Def not the right title for this vid.

    • @RoieGalitzLive
      @RoieGalitzLive  2 года назад

      well, to be honest - if you're into photography, it really doesn't matter talking about settings and exposure, since the greatly vary when taking images in the field. If you would like some tips and pointers on that, first of all - you can ask more nicely 😉 but, I can tell you that usually because of the snow - there's a lot of light. I shoot most of the time at ISO 100, and set the aperture to between F/9 and F/13, keeping the shutter speed at a minimum of 1/500, depending on the action and movement (sometimes, reaching 1/8000) and of course - aiming for more mm of the lens. I keep the exposure at "0". I hope this does help you understand better.
