Little Miss Muffett sat on her tuffett eating her cottage cheese...
everything looks delicious!!! your family is so fortunate to have you, I make the cookies every year for Easter and Christmas, so good
Happy holidays! Love you
Hello, yes I love cooking videos. I’m not a fan of what you call “talking head” video. I watch many ladies on you tube and the homemaking videos , especially cooking videos are my favorites.
I would eat those cookies but with hot milk tea and yum 🌺
I recently discovered you can use your whey to make homemade Mayonnaise last up to 3 months 🤯🤯🤯
After reading the ingredients on Mayonnaise, I will definitely be making a batch of yogurt and using the whey to make my own mayo without the harmful ingredients for summertime recipes 😉
Everything looks delish and inexpensive…can’t beat that! Looks fairly easy to prepare as well. My hubby is crazy about licorice, me not so much, hehe.
I love baked pasta! My favourite one to make is rotini with tomato sauce, chopped eggplant, zucchini, and spinach, with mozzarella cheese on top - but you can add whatever vegetables you like. The key is mixing olive oil in with the veggies and pasta, then when it's done, drizzling a bit of olive oil on top of the cheese so that it gets a bit crisp in the oven. I add extra olive oil on my plate, partly because I love the flavour but mainly because it's the healthiest oil for your brain when the oil is uncooked.
I make "cold start" yogurt in the Instant Pot. It's a little more expensive to start with UltraPasteurized milk ("Fairlife" or "Lactaid" brand), but it's super easy. I incubate it 8 hours and it is much less tangy than store-bought yogurt. I add 1/2 c heavy cream & 1/2 c nonfat dry milk to 1/2 gallon whole milk to make super thick Greek yogurt. I use "Chobani" plain yogurt for my starter because it has 6 active cultures. And, I use the whey when I water my plants. 🪴 Sacramento, California USA 🇺🇸
Do you water down the whey before you water the plants 🪴 or do you use it straight?
I set aside some of the yogurt I make and use that to start the next batch. I keep powdered starter on hand too. The powdered milk is something i do too but hadn't thought of cream.
I haven't tried using ultra pasturised milk. That's the longer lasting shelf stable stuff, right? Wish I had thought of that during the pandemic.
@christines2787 I do water down the whey for the plants. I mix about a cup of whey into a gallon of water. Idk if that's right, but it's what I do.
Yes, the UltraPasteurized milk has the longer (refrigerated) life. It does taste just slightly sweeter than regular milk and it tastes way better than the UHT milk that's shelf stable. I switched over to it a few years ago because of the extended freshness.
I always forget to save any yogurt for starter, lol. I should probably start doing that!
@rangerannie5636 - Awesome, thank you. I figured it was acidic whey (yogurt) not sweet whey (mainly cheese I think).
I'm going to try that out with my patio plants. I have about an acre under cultivation but keep some cherry tomatoes and some herbs on the patio, sort of a kitchen garden I guess.
I'll be checking out that milk too. I keep the starter culture powder because I forget to keep some out too.
@christines2787 I have a container garden on my deck, mostly tomatoes & peppers. I can't compost here, but I save eggshells & coffee grounds for the plants, and if I have a banana peel I'll let that soak in their water. The plants seem to like it.
I just dont like make food ahead. It would all go to waste
Yes, I make yogurt in my instant pot. I line a colander with coffee filters, set it over bowl and drain it overnight in the fridge. Love homemade yogurt with fruit and homemade granola.
I use cheesecloth to strain my yogurt
Great tip!
Perfect idea
Loved the video!
Thank you!!
I learn so much from your videos - thank you!
Yes like these vids. Wow to the yogurt thing. Love those proportioned containers. Food looks so pretty in them too💚
Everything looks delicious Dawn! Yes, please do cooking videos weekly! I'm going to try the apricot chicken and pizza casserole.
Hope you enjoy
Loved the video! Thanks for sharing and I would love to see what you cook next week. Take care.
Coming soon!
Love this. More pls.
Hi Mommy Mom. I love to watch you prep and cook. Gives me a ton of new ideas. Please keep these videos coming!
I'm so glad!
Thank you for linking all the recipes! This is great 😊
You are welcome
I almost gave away the slow cooker because we aren’t making those big meals. Well- not just yet! Will try to make yogurt. Thanks Dawn.
Lol, I have 4. Always useful no matter the family size. It's great for breakfasts, I set up hot cereal the night before.
They can act as an extra oven too, even for things like cakes and baked potatoes
@@christines2787I need to expand my imagination! Thanks!
@Smooshes786 - so happy to hear it. My house is on propane which is kind of expensive at $3.50 per gallon. We try to fill our tank each spring and top off in the fall. Id say we use about $750 per year. The crockpot uses 4 to 5 cents worth of electricity per hour so i use that. We also use a sun oven and use a haybox to cut costs. And honestly, its a lot of fun. Cooking is a creative outlet for me since I'm no good at craft stuff like knitting and can't do more than simple curtains or hemming pants when it comes to sewing.
Slow cookers are great for lazy cooking days. I have 2 and looking to get a 3rd.
I enjoyed this video and this format, definitely keen to see more 😊
You are so kind
I would like to see more of these please😊😊😊
I really enjoy seeing what others cook. I hope you do some more of them. 😊

Love this type vlogs
Weekly cooking videos, please. The chicken, quiche, and the orange bread sounds so good! I used to use 1-2 envelopes of the onion soup, chicken, and rice in a long baking pan with 3 tbl. of butter. So delicious! Thank you for the recipes!😊
Thank you

What day will you probably have it on? Have a nice evening.
On Friday I prepped 3 very different dishes to you.
1 Vietnamese black rice salad
2 Garlic and red wine casserole
3 Cuban bean soup
I freeze these in serving sizes too. I don't prep pasta or quiche as my family don't like it done that far ahead. I use gluten free pasta which is never good if not eaten immediately.
Yum
Those cookies look so good. I got frozen cherries at the food bank.
Yum
Yes I would eat anissette cookies any time of the year. I make smoothies too. I take a little milk, plain greek yogurt, a frozen banana, and frozen fruit (blueberries and cherries are my fav) and I whirl it away. Sometimes I make it into more of a frozen treat and sometimes I add more liquid so I can drink it. I would love to make that homemade yogurt but I'm scared to try. LOL. PS: Yes I love these kinds of videos.
Thank you much
I loved seeing everything you made. I would never be able to use all that yogurt, lol. I know you like it, though. The orange bread sounds delicious! I'm getting the pizza casserole recipe, too. You must've spent hours in the kitchen. I spent quite a bit of time today putting a casserole and 2 meatloaves in the freezer. I'm going back home for a few weeks for doctors' appointments, so I wanted to leave some food for my husband and sister-in-law. He'll probably just get takeout, but it made me feel good to leave it, lol. Great video! Love to all, Linda 💕
Yes, but it saves so much money
When you strain your yogurt, keep the whey. It's great as the liquid in breads, pancakes or in place of some of the broth in soups. I've used it in place of the wine in risotto with excellent results. Would go good in those smoothies too.
Would it work to make sourdough bread?
@GrannyLinn - My sourdough starter tends to get moldy and I hated not having enough uses for all the discard.
Instead I use a poolish. It's basically a short term sourdough starter that uses store bought yeast instead of wild. I make it the night before I bake and then it's gone until the next time I need it. I do use the whey for the liquid in the bread made from the poolish and it is awesome. A poolish is more mild tasting than a true sourdough and the whey really makes up for it.
@@christines2787 thank you!
love all the recipes, thanks Dawn. Would love to see more recipes.
Thank you! Will do!

I really loved this video. Please do more like it.
Dawn please don't cook food in that aluminum use unbleached parchment paper down on the bottom. One out of 2 people are getting cancer for a reason!
I have heard of aluminum toxicity. The aluminum foil is so convenient, I use it to cover, but I do not touch food with it. Also, I stopped using aluminum baking sheets
Dawn, the food looks so delicious ❤
It was!
Everything looks fantastic! I need some of your energy to do this! Love your videos ❤
Thank you!! 😊
You can do it on a smaller scale. At times I just do 3 or 4 simple dishes. Like 1 rice( e.g fried rice), 1 pasta, 1 meat, 1 salad. We can rotate that over 3 days.
@@lindc1070 that sounds doable!
Love this video. Reminded me to make apricot chicken. I haven’t made yogurt in a long time & have been wanting to so illl give it a shot
Great video! I’ll have to try the potatoes the way you made them. You certainly were busy meal planning.
With your OJ and beer breads, I think you'd like avocado bread. My sister introduced me to it a year ago, so I do a gluten and dairy free version. The recipe I prefer is from the 1930's, which I found googling.
Sounds yummy
love anise cookies-headed to Dallas right now for grandbaby’s first birthday party - wish I could drop by and try one😂😂😂😂

I love watching cooking videos because I love to cook. Making Taco Bake from Pinterest at present. My favorite.
Love that!
I love this video & can't wait to try some of these recipes! Question - where did you get the black divided containers that you put some of the meals in?
I got them at the Dollar Tree
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMomdo you just microwave to reheat?
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom thank you!
Yummy!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
So good!
I have to agree, although you are resourceful your choices not super healthy. Sugar, flour, sodium and a lot of prepackaged additives ...
The greek yogurt maybe your best chloice with fruit.
Enjoyed your video. Interesting
Thank you!
Dawn love your videos and it would be great to continue to see more of the cooking ones too to get ideas. even though I live alone, I also do batch cooking on the weekend. to make the rest of the week easier.👍🦋🍲🥗🍱🍝
Will do!!
❤
Everything is great but the anise cookies. 😅
Do you wash and reuse those foil pans?
Sometimes
@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom Why not use your regular pans and wash them. You are wasting money.
Don't forget to drain the whey all the way! 😍😍 PS: Wish I had your energy!!
For sure
Great
Love videos like this
Carry on ❤❤
Thank you, I will
Ohhhh loveeee cooking videos ty Dawn. Never done yogurt. Looks like a pain to me lol I'll just buy it. Lol
