I think there's a tasteful way to do it. If it was less about the trial and more about being a judge, the stress of presiding over cases that go into such awful details and how to cope or the fallout of not being able to cope, etc. That said, I'm getting Becky 2.0 from this book idea

The defense team acted like children during this trial and I was and will always be disgusted by their behavior. I will stand with this judge always. She was not perfect but with what she was dealing with on a daily basis from this defense team she handled herself the best way she could. This was one of the worst trials I have ever witnessed by the defense behavior. I love this judge and that in this interview she admitted her wrong doings.
The rumor when she left was that she was going to be a talking head/pundit in TV. The judge in the Anna Nicole Smith case left to be in TV and I think to write a book . He was colorful character too

Question, how did they preserve the whole school block where dozens were injured and murdered and still made it safe for a walk around? Wouldn't the body fluids alone pose risk to the jurors?
I really appreciate hearing more from her and her unapologetic comments about the defense team ring true from what I saw. And her willingness to admit her own shortcomings during the trial, especially the victim impact statements, is admirable. Not that it matters, but I like her

she's talking about the olivers, who brought the defense's children into their statements, especially patricia who kept saying 'defender'. i think they had every right to say what they said and im glad she didnt interupt them. thier victim impact statements were my favorite and i watch them sometimes for inspiration. they were brave, they were honest and sometimes they were funny.
The judge talked of taking the jurors to the crime scene, with everything left as it was, "a moment in time" and it really makes it more mystifying that the house at University of Idaho was allowed to be destroyed. I'd acquit soley based on that evidence destruction.
I’m just seeing this….. and if I’m honest, when I saw the Jennifer Crumbly case and the antics of her defense lawyer, it was this very trial that it reminded me of. Both trials were understandably extremely emotional and difficult and yes you have to be almost numb to be able to handle it. When there is a case so horrific that even the judge is having a hard time keeping it together, why can’t we as a society push for better laws that will protect our children. Stricter gun laws because there are those out there who don’t see a problem with handing a teenager a fire arm. We have to do better for the sake of our own.
Why would she do that? Why record an interview, trash talk the defence and admit her mistakes for the world to see? Defintely crossing the lines of professionalism here.

Finally, was this the right moment to promote her book, a book that she hasn't even begun to write?!
Hear. Hear! My exact feelings about her, too. 🎯
Pete just sitting there sipping on water whilst getting all the tea from the judge… 😂
No, I didn’t see her writing a book. I did think the interviews were for PR. All of this makes me like her even less than I already did. I don’t feel that judges should be able to write books about trials they have mediated.
I think there's a tasteful way to do it. If it was less about the trial and more about being a judge, the stress of presiding over cases that go into such awful details and how to cope or the fallout of not being able to cope, etc.
That said, I'm getting Becky 2.0 from this book idea
@@amandamacabrethat is what her book is about. Her life growing up, her family of lawyers.
Ohs judge did it
@@boomds5602 then it's probably okay, but I still feel like from the tone of the interviews, there's still a LOT of room for it to go off the rails.
Not to keep beating on Becky, but I'm sure most people expected her book to be a procedural retelling of the trial, not what it ended up being.
OMG when are you going to cover Jennifer Crumbley trial in MI
This is a great case for learning and a case is going to set precedent this case is crazy!
Mad respect for the Judge, admitting her wrong doing but slamming the defense team...it was crazy how unprofessional they were.
She's incorrect. There were two defense attorneys who were death penalty qualified.
Peter looked so uncomfortable listening to Jesse giving the former Judge a block of time to promo her speculative book, ala Miss Becky.........
I am wondering how much her daddy sponsored the channel in order to promote her book. I just wish we heard also the defense side of a story.
She was a prosecutor under the lead of the prosecution in the Parklands case.
Your channel should be, lawyer you love, because you are such a handsome young man and your aura and attitude is beyond compare. Very enigmatic. Look at me using big words!
This case kept me wow'd
She looks so young! I am impressed!
I think this lady is very intelligent and passionate about people
Probably. But what she shouldn’t do is a be a judge. She failed at that
maybe but she a horrible judge w n common sense
I don't like to see judges in the media, and I don't think it's prudent to write a book.
I feel like I need to explain accountability to her like I do my small children 😅. Yes, the defense acted poorly at times- but the question wasn't about them, it was about how she handled herself.
💯!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Exactly! That’s passing the buck right there. Look how totally unprofessional the defense was in the Darrell Brooks trial (Darrell Brooks himself 😵💫), and the flawlessly professional, articulate and even tempered manner in which Judge Jennifer Darrow conducted herself. This judge acted like a petulant, ego-driven, out of control person in that courtroom. I think she should just keep a low profile and get down to the business of advocating for her clients and call it a day. Yikes.
@@klsb75 agree with your assessment of Judge Jennifer Darrow.
that is an excellent comparison! this judge was very unprofessional. She also pretty clearly had a bias. I'm fine with throwing the book at the kid and the defense was slimey (and weird) at times, but the judge has to be the most professional one there at all times for people to keep faith in the justice system (what little faith there is). @@klsb75
@klsb75 100% agree
@@klsb75Worst defense counsel in the history of ever.
Remember the defense rested with no warning causing a long delay?
When Peter says the Defense “won” is that because he didn’t get the death penalty?
Yes.
@@JustineAdlong Thank you Justine 😊
@mrsgarcia4391 Haha you're welcome Mrs. Garcia 😊
They won on the sentencing, they won on the harassment of her, they got her to step down as a judge. They won everything for that POS Cruz!!!!
@@SweetPea112 😔
I’m watching from Manchester UK and find the USA legal system very interesting. You explain it so well and in depth!
32:40 Peter’s face progression as she starts explaining her book 😲😯😮🫨🫢🤭
Peter's face finding out the judge is writing a book 😂
The rumor when she left was that she was going to be a talking head/pundit in TV. The judge in the Anna Nicole Smith case left to be in TV and I think to write a book . He was colorful character too
Replay crew here! ⛳️⛳️⛳️ this was hard to watch! IMO, looks like she had a piece of humble pie! Served cold 😅
Lordt. Why do THESE people want to make a buck off of other people’s tragedies??? She talks about their pain and now she wants to cash in on it??? I’m sorry, I didn’t care for her before, tried to give her the benefit during Peter’s reactions…but this takes me back. Her hand’s out and tears aren’t dry.
Very articulate woman -- she did an excellent job -we need more judges like her - not these judges that constantly let criminals walk
You haven’t watched any of her other trials then.
Question, how did they preserve the whole school block where dozens were injured and murdered and still made it safe for a walk around? Wouldn't the body fluids alone pose risk to the jurors?
She is defensive, but she was basically asked to step down after being a prosecutor for ten years and a judge for ten years. She's really defensive.
I really appreciate hearing more from her and her unapologetic comments about the defense team ring true from what I saw. And her willingness to admit her own shortcomings during the trial, especially the victim impact statements, is admirable. Not that it matters, but I like her
Having a great day here hope you all are
Shades of Miss Becky? Peter, your first reaction to her book deal was priceless... [edit: I paused right after you ran your hand down your face so obviously did not catch your comments subsequently when I wrote that. Keep those first reaction posts coming, when you are watching right along with us!]
I agree with the Judge’s comments relating to the defense team, their behaviors at times was embarrassing at times
she's talking about the olivers, who brought the defense's children into their statements, especially patricia who kept saying 'defender'. i think they had every right to say what they said and im glad she didnt interupt them. thier victim impact statements were my favorite and i watch them sometimes for inspiration. they were brave, they were honest and sometimes they were funny.
The judge talked of taking the jurors to the crime scene, with everything left as it was, "a moment in time" and it really makes it more mystifying that the house at University of Idaho was allowed to be destroyed. I'd acquit soley based on that evidence destruction.
Although I agree that the house shouldn't have been torn down by the University I also believe Kohberger is so guilty!
Life in prison as a child killer is worse than death.
Heavy is the crown…..some people aren’t EMOTIONALLY intelligent… this “situation “ is going to follow her everywhere. Lol
This is so painful for the victims families to relive over and over again
If she did intend to leave then maybe that explains her lack of restraint and her open contempt.
The jaw drop was adorable 🤣
I’m just seeing this….. and if I’m honest, when I saw the Jennifer Crumbly case and the antics of her defense lawyer, it was this very trial that it reminded me of. Both trials were understandably extremely emotional and difficult and yes you have to be almost numb to be able to handle it. When there is a case so horrific that even the judge is having a hard time keeping it together, why can’t we as a society push for better laws that will protect our children. Stricter gun laws because there are those out there who don’t see a problem with handing a teenager a fire arm. We have to do better for the sake of our own.
Well that won’t end in any sort of disaster, said no one ever 🤣
Why would she do that? Why record an interview, trash talk the defence and admit her mistakes for the world to see? Defintely crossing the lines of professionalism here.
I don’t even know what to think. It’s a crazy world!
