Stumbled upon your channel and now I'm addicted. Really enjoy watching your explorations and life in Thailand. Keep it coming man! - Justin from Canada
Welcome to Rayong, I have lived here for 10 years and love the place. It has everything here but not a tourist hotspot so everything is cheaper here. We have some great beaches here and of course Kohn Samet island. Hope you get to see more of Rayong. Enjoy.
I had to do the lifting of the rebar when we started to build our house. It's a ceremonial thing to bless the house usually involving a magic man or a monk so I hope you brought the building luck. I like Rayong. It's a good place.
@@WalkAboutWayneWayne do you take thai courses to help you talk to the locals, most of them seem to understand u speak English an little thai, do u study thai at all to help you?
Good to see Rayong thru your eyes. I did some contract work nearby and went to Rayong a few weekends, maybe 15 years ago. It was definitely mostly Thai then, not many farang. I was told, then, that the water quality of the ocean was dodgy due to sewage. How does it seem now? Enjoy, I'm 3 days from the Samui drive, back for Song Kran.
I love the way Thais let the community participate. My name is on bricks that were part of a temple build, still waiting for some good fortune lol. It's such a refreshing culture. Your vids are making me pine to get back, Wayne. Nice one, man 👍
I love your vlogs Wayne mate your so down to earth I went to rayon a few times years ago I actually visited a restaurant famous for the best phadthai Wayne
Your exploration vlogs are by far your best ones. I reckon that this area is going to feel a lot different after sundown, take us to the night markets please.
In the beginning of Covid I used to clean that beach, then curfew came and was not Al out to walk on the beach but in sunset and after there were no controls.
I arrived from Cornwall on February 1 and Ban Chang, Rayong is now home. Rayong is ok, it sprung up due to the vast oil industrial estate that many American executives played a part in developing but have now left but there is still a pretty large American expat community in and around. Enjoy Rayong Wayne!
@@WalkAboutWayne yes it's the one. There's literally no one in that beach. You gotta do a couple of hours hike or take a boat to be in that beach and pay national park fee!
Wow, what a contrast to Hua hin Wayne, Rayong looked great, and that beach was so beautiful, where I walked in Hua Hin, it clearly was not maintained and many broken bottles on it meant you better be looking down when strolling. So cool you pitched in in raising whatever it was you raised mate, I'm heading off the Ho Chi Minh tomorrow.
Rayong sounds like my kind of town. Chilled, beaches and nice people. I guess the higher prices is the only drawback. Thanks for showing and keep the vlogs coming!
I'm a huge fan of coffee. But I've learned the hard way that Hydration is the key to life. Drinking plenty of water, which seems obvious, was not always happening. My mistake there. 🙂@@WalkAboutWayne
Looked like many nice beaches, howcome noone is there? Swiming, sunbathing? I remember holiday at Chonburi..every Tuesday all went out to clean the beach, to the thai peoples surprise, we joined for hours cleaning. But still could not swim for 2 weeks due to all plastic, bottles, more, only wet our legs. So these beaches looked ok.
A restaurant I used to go to has two menus English and Thai. I used to order off the English menu but my last visit I ordered from the Thai menu. I can read Thai like a small child, sometimes I like to practice. Well anyway even though I ordered in Thai they charged me frang price. I didn't know foreigners were charged a higher price. So, I complained and they changed my bill to Thai price. But now I feel uncomfortable being a customer there.
Best Entertainment Thailand Vlogger.
I'm not sure about that, but thanks man!

A fun day out there buddy. Those Thais do entertain don't they. Great people. Cheers Wayne 🤩
Great day out and the Thais sure do like a good laugh. Thanks mate.

Yes, the Thais are always up for a laugh and joke aswell. I love that. They love comedy here and joking around.
I have a friend that lives there. Thats where I am going for a few days right before Chiang Mai. Glad to see this video.
Really nice town mate. Very chilled and great empty beaches.
That was great! Nice music! I am looking forward to more.
Thank Larry 👍
I think a ride along the coast to Chanthaburi and Koh Chang would be interesting, not many tourists there and are supposed to be little known gems
Nice, I was going to Chanthaburi but not sure now.
I will drive down that way soon, so enjoying the views.
Nice and chilled area. Well worth a visit.

My wife’s home town. Nice too see all the places we frequent 😊
Nice! I've liked it so far.

interesting, I keep considering visiting Rayong but still have not done it. But this November I think I'll give it a try.
I really liked Rayong, nice chilled place. Well worth a visit.
Well done for helping with the Temple that will bring you good luck😊
Thanks! It was good to join in and have a laugh with the people .
My budget is 1500 a month come this may, looking here and hua hin. Great vid.
Thanks! Hua Hin and Rayong are both great places. I’m sure you’ll like one. Rayong a lot less people .
Have you been to the beach in praya nakon cave near hua hin .. khao som roi yot?
Is that the one where the sun shines in the cave, onto the temple? I've not been but it looks great in the pictures.

Nice one Dan mate, I hope you have a great time in Vietnam 👍
Don't crumble. Don't grumble. Nice philosophy. What bike would you recommend for touring Thailand, but not too big?
Can't grumble or crumble mate. 350 adv or Forza would be good for a bike and keeping relatively small.
Rayong sounds like my kind of town. Chilled, beaches and nice people. I guess the higher prices is the only drawback. Thanks for showing and keep the vlogs coming!
It's a nice town and there are very few people around. The prices are something I'm keeping an eye on. Thanks
Fun video of Rayong ..if you want some chill days ,there's a small island koh Samed hidden gem in Rayong.
Cheers Emma, Koh Samed does look chilled 👍
"Rayong, a 1,000 miles from the Sun" Nice town, and no excuse to not go out and enjoy a Walk-About in Thailand is there Wayne?
It's a nice place. Always good to have a walkabout 👍
Rayong looks great. Not too many foreigners. Could be a contender.
Yes, it's been very chilled so far. Hardly any tourist around.
Nice quiet place Rayong. I like it cheers Wayne
Yes, I really like Rayong, nice and chilled. Thanks.
That's beautiful man, enjoy.
Thanks, will do!
17:48 ... well done with pulling the robe !!! You are a gentleman !!!
I can't remember, so don't know what I was doing in this vlog mate 🤣.
Sorry Wayne that shop I mentioned is the best phadthai it’s famous since 1996 it opened Naidoi style restaurant or daily Wayne it’s worth a look
👍👍
nice video!! just curious how much to rent the 155cc moto for a day?
Thanks! I think it was around 300 Baht a day.
Nice one Wayne.
Glad you are enjoying Rayong.
Who do you thinks had more arsh... you or that scooter? 😅
Take it easy.
Haha, that's a tough one mate.
Coffee is good!! Thanks Wayne. 🙂

Naidoi daily Naidoi thai style has been there since 1996 Wayne it’s a bit more expensive but the best 😊be nice if you could visit
Maybe I'll come across it 👍
Very nice place 🌴
It's been great so far.

I don't know why it's empty. I've heard it gets busier on weekends. I thought it would be more busy, being so close to Pattaya.
I really like this place nice beaches no tourists my kind of town,it’s allot more calmer then Chiang mai
It's a really chilled place. It's crazy how it's still so empty. I hope it stays like this
Lifting steel rebar next to power lines 😮
What could go wrong ! 😬
Welcome to Thailand 🤣
So too windy ?
Come again?
@@WalkAboutWayne is it too windy on the beaches in Rayong , bit like lanzarote ?
@@ewanconnor1403 No mate, it's a great breeze.
@ 13:55 I think you made a decision for me ;-)
If you like a quiet life with beaches all to yourself, Rayong is the place.
Beautiful :)
Nice quiet beach in Rayong 👍

Thats about my Pace chilled as F---. Crowds NFG😁
Very chilled here. Perfect 👌
Seafood: fish sauce?
Could be, doubt if Fish sauce was 40 though .
I lol seeing Mercedes symbol for a peace symbol.
I miss everything , I'll have to look 🤣
28:50 on the hippie type sign
I like beach
Me too 👌👌
10:45 🎉 ☕☕☕
You know me Alan, never touch the stuff .
Rayong is more of an industrial place -- lots of manufacturing means more pollution. I think that is one reason it never took off as a tourist spot.
The Air seems good. Do you mean the sea?
ban chang is the best
I wanted to go Ban Chang, I’ve heard good things about it 👍
I can see why you like chiang mai. No reason to pay double price for meals. over a month that’s double the food bill.
I think I just know the best places in CM now. I'm sure I could find some cheap places here also.
My Thai, foreigner price dispute was in Chiang Mai.
👍👍

I've never seen that before. Anywhere I've been has been the same price.
Those grab bike taxi are so dangerous if you come off with no helmet and just a t shirt ...
Yep, just another day in Thailand.
Thailand is so awesome and down to earth. Its nice to see a country where capitalism havent completely taken over
Thanks

I wish I could see it all, but time to move on soon .
you look like Vasco Rossi.
Good looking basterd?
@@WalkAboutWayne It depends on who you ask 😅, but here in Italy is very famous.

Don't buy what you dont what want buddy, don't crumble just because you are in a different country. They will respect you more if you don't crumble. 👍
