Nice video as always! Thanks! I think the apartment on the Moon Light Beach is part of a chain in Thailand. I know in Chiang Mai that there is a similar property called the Kantary Hills in the Nimman area. It's more deluxe and has a nice restaurant and bar attached. Rayong looks like a good place to escape the bad air in Chiang Mai.
A working class town for Thais and not really a place of pace especially for tourists but like all places there in Thailand well worth a visit as your videos not only highlight must visit places, also those that people may wish to bypass. For that reason alone every video is way worth watching through to the very end, whatever the entertainment level, giving us a feel for what is out there. Great work Wayne 🤩
The best beaches are outside of Rayong town. Have a drive along and see Laem Mae Phim or Ban Phe near Koh Samet. If you want an old style Pattaya, try Ban Chang. Enjoy Wayne 👍👍👍
Hello Wayne. Rayong looks interesting. It’s made us want to visit. We do love Hua Hin though and will be retiring there very shortly. If you are ever in Hua Hin we would love to meet up and buy you a beer. Thanks for your Channel. Take it easy!!! Cheers!!!
Hello, nice to hear from you! Hua Hin is a great place. Rayong is well worth a visit though. I might be in Hua Hin again soon, so hope to see you. Thanks! Take it easy!
If you take the Sukhumvit road south out of Rayong city for 15 minutes, you will get to Tapong junction. If you go right there you will hit Mae Rampueng beach. About 13 kilometres of beach , bars, restaurants and condos.
Wayne, I still remembered your walk about in Da Nang, Vietnam….and you stayed in ROBIN HOTEL. There were many monthly apartments for rent there! Many located inside luxury high rises. There is NO WAY Vietnam charges $1,400 dollars per month there in Da Nang!! Even In the super luxury Condo (MUONG THANH LUXURY CONDO on the beach charged $500 for a 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms all furnished apartments)!! Why is Thailand so expensive??
Yes, Vietnam was really cheap, great place. You can go up the road from this place and find dirt cheap though. I live cheaper in Chiang Mai than I did in Vietnam. Thailand is still cheap, you just got to find the best areas of the city.
Thanks Wayne for another great walkabout . An Interesting hotel and the studios and facilities are ok . A bit dated but not serious. Is there any night life? Worth visiting?
If you going...1 h...from where you are..mayby you end up at Ban Phe..worse every 2 weeks holiday we had. Beach full of plastic bags, bottles, cups you name it! Could never swim only cool our legs! This March 6 y ago. Really do hope it is better by now!! We joined..twice a week to clean the beach for hours!!! Never again to this end of Thailand sadly, so hoping IF you go...it is looking better now.
Regarding rates: It appears breakfast is included, even on monthly rate. But the monthly rates are before tax and service so you need to figure an additional 17%. It seems a rather quiet (dull) place to stay for 30 days.
Bang saray is quiet Wayne and it isn’t far from Pattaya well it is Pattaya lots of factories in Rayong and pratumnak is nice Wayne more a relaxed vibe than made soi Lenky
Wayne I live in Chelsea but if I go to Battersea’s the food is nearly half price in a restaurant that’s how it is Bangkok you would spend between 12 000 Thai baht more in a monthly budget
The price is high because its a hotel that offers monthly options. Go down the road and you can get a condo on the beach for 10,000 a month. Condo in the city 1km from the beach with pool and gym are 6000/7000
Wayne you can get very reasonable accommodation in Rayong at very good reasonable prices I would say just as good as chaing Mia it’s definitely more relaxed there and a kind of pace you can chill 😎 many foreigners retire there I think you can find cheaper food there Wayne in the food court in central festival
I stayed at Kantary Bay back in the 90s so it's at least 30 years old. It does look old fashioned by today's standards. I would say it's overpriced. Kantary cafe has a good rep tho. Enjoy your stay 😊
@@WalkAboutWayne Great opportunity to visit this place at this price, it was 2 ways you have the 2nd flight to return ? on which site have you found this great price , i ve checked on skyscanner found 3500B

The extended stay hotel is dated but it’s a sophisticated dated…😂…not a great value at the monthly rate for Thailand. Very nice pool…I would spend my time there instead of the beach.
they are *short stay* places ie 1 day to a week (and even then still a bit expensive). Would be mad as a bag of badgers to pay these prices for long stay.
You won't last 2 days in Pattaya buddy 😂 Not if you choose main Pattaya, Jomtien might be more you, its more for older minded people like you. Pollution in Rayong, yes they let shit from the 🏭 right into the sea, we were there a few years ago and went for a swim, we felt like there were a thousand small fish biting our skin, but there was nothing there, it was probably chemicals in the water ☠
Sounds like baby jellyfish. When jellyfish are babies they are microscopic. They get under your swim trunks and cause a burning irritation. Phuket gets them certain times of year. I've had happen to me here in Florida as well. They got me bad as a kid in Daytona Beach. Had no idea what was causing the burning at the time. A few years ago a vlogger in Phuket mentioned getting the same thing and I looked it up.
@@WalkAboutWayne If you do choose to go to main Pattaya then make sure you go to Sailor Restaurant on beach road soi 8 buddy, they have a good Western breakfast, bacon ham sausage eggs toast butter jam coffee orange juice for 80 baht, by far the cheapest, other food, barbecue twice a week with a drink for little money, and cocktails also good and a lot cheaper than average in Pattaya, I know its maybe still more than you are used to pay elsewhere, but for Pattaya it's exceptionally good 👍
that corner studio is a winner, the balcony view seems worse but is facing the sunset. about 30000 out of budget tho haha
Nice beach area in Rayong, not to many people , which was great. This place was nice but a little out of my budget 👍

Yes, it could be a chain. It was nice but a bit dated. The location was great though. Rayong is the perfect escape, really enjoyed it.

Rayong is a definite " must visit " . Thanks for sharing
For sure, it's a nice place.
Interesting area, nice walk about in a different area Safe travels
Great town for beach walks, really chilled aswell. Thanks

Nice one WW - any area with a beach + some quiet spots presents as good value & worth a look 👌✔️👍😎👋🙏
Worth a look mate. Well out of my budget but fun to look. Cheers Ant.
Thanks for this great vid Wayne, Rayong looks to be a good place for respite during the burning season
Oh yeah, riff raff? Speak for yourself, LOL
Rayong was a nice chilled place, loved it. No Riff Raff about 🤣🤣
Rayong not being popular is precisely why those beaches remain pristine looking, I think those beaches look incredible.
Yes!!! I hope Rayong stays exactly like it is. I had a great time.
Glad you're enjoying Rayong mate. When you look out over the ocean do you think about home?
Yes mate, it did remind me of home a little. I had a little moment looking out over.

You can find cheap places, this is catered for holiday goers on the beach.

@ 26:44 You SOLD it to me ;-)
Nice! Rayog is lovely down near the beach.
Thanks Wayne for another great walkabout . An Interesting hotel and the studios and facilities are ok . A bit dated but not serious. Is there any night life? Worth visiting?
Thanks ! There is a nightlife place just out of town, so I've heard.
Almost like walking on the pebble ridge at Wacky Ho! Mate
Home from Home 🤣
Go to koh chang! You will love it.
Hopefully another time, but different plans this time 😉

Sorry to hear that, sounds like you had an awful time. I don't think I'm going there but if I do, I'll hopefully have a better time.
It's a floating pontoon for walking on
Nice one Nick, now I know 😀
That one bedroom condo looks like a $400 unit (at best) with what they think is a $1000 view.
You can’t even see the wide view of the beach due to the RIGHT & LEFT buildings blocking your view!! 😂😂😂
It was way out of my budget haha.

Good bit of info, I didn't see the free breakfast, unless he told me on the video, I can't remember. Wow, that's crazy if the tax is on top too.
The studio was nice but the price ,expensive for thailand happy travels wayne

Yes, it does look like a 80s or 90s place. It's a nice place but I agree, a little dated.
@WalkAboutWayne Rayong is beautiful very chilled, perfect if that's what you want but defo in a bit of a time warp!
Maybe it is packed at night? Still very nice
Nice spot…the stone pier is a great early morning spot to sit with tea….thanks for sharing…
Few more people around at night.
Condo's Felt Very Expensive
considering the location it's a ripped off.
@@phisit8813 I think the studio was worth 350 pounds tops, it's a shame Thailand are charging such ludicrous prices.
Yeah, they looked a bit dated. Bit out of my price range 🤣
have you swim in sea, no jellyfish ?
I wouldn't go swimming here. I don't think the water is the greatest. I've seen people in the sea though.
how much you paid your flight to Rayong ?

it is very bad actually bud 🤣 go to Jomtien get a sea view for a *fraction* of the price.
