National Highway 66, commonly referred to as NH 66 (erstwhile NH-17 and a part of NH-47), is a mostly 4 lane 1,608 km (999 mi) long busy National Highway that runs roughly north-south along the western coast of India, parallel to the Western Ghats. It connects Panvel (a city south of Mumbai) to Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari), passing through the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The highway is undergoing a major overhaul in Maharashtra. This is the latest update on Mumbai Goa Highway. This is Part-3 in which I have covered Palaspe To Nagothane section of Raigad District.

But beyond fixing blames, this delay very hardship for commuters - loss of time, loss of fuel n loss of money.
Are bhai its NH..it cannot be build by pwd…it may happen that nhai may have given tender to local pwd but it will be maintained by nhai only..so the blame will go toh nhai and gadkari

Koknat janaryanni Panvel - Khopoli - Pali - Nizampur - Mangaon ha route ghya. Mangaon paryant khup thikani kaam baki ahe. Single lane var ek gadi break down zali tar motha traffic jam hoto. Ganpatit mangaon la kimaan 2 taas jatat.
JNPT road var moth mothe khadde padle ahet, rasta rikami ahe asa samjhun gadi fast chalau naka.
After wadkhal bypass managaon bypass was the most critical, but nobody has paid it any attention. Even land acquisition for this and goregaon bypass is not complete!

Super efforts as usual by Jaideep with his excellent drone aerial footage of our potholes ridden tarmac.
Lack of drainage, bad bitumen material surfacing process are pure Mark of corrupt governance.
Reason for Delay given as due to slow acquiring of land story is no excuse for the questionable missing bitumen on this NH as well as the internal SH connection with ambet- mhapral- mandangad as well as mahad -mhapral cement road.
Its obvious that hon. Minister has other interests in delaying this project leading to massive over spending and utter lack of governance.
Matter of fact, other ancillary roads perpendicular to this NH are done properly and provide a better tarmac inspite of facing the same amount of rains.
So its obvious that govt has to come only for credit while we ordinary citizens have to bear the torture all along for the past 20 years.

Cursed highway. Keeping Maharashtra PWD as a implementing agency was a big mistake. NHAI should have taken over this instead. Thanks to UPA, we are stuck with PWD and it’s Paisa Wasoli Dept policy.

@@nsbhagwatNHAI can’t even take this project back even if it wanted to. Maha PWD would need to willingly give it to NHAI. Wo bhi muskil ho gaya hai thanks to a PIL. It is not just politicians. UPA era policy was pretty faulty and plain bad. Even if they weren’t corrupt, they were pretty incompetent.

Bro what about Mangaon Bypass?Indapur Bypass?.Very frustrating to drive on this Road.I think as a frequent user of this segment ie Palaspe to Ambet my Karma's of my previous birth were bad so I am blessed with such a shoddy,3rd Class Motarable Road, .I have no other feelings to express.

Nitin Gadkari has been a complete failure when it comes to building and completing highways and roads in Konkan region.
जयदीप चांगला व्हिडीओ छान फोटोग्राफी छान विवेचन पण खराब रस्ता. ह्या नॅशनल हायवे पेक्षा माणगाव ते श्रीवर्धन हा राज्य मार्ग असून सुद्धा खुप चांगला आहे.

There should be a proper drainage system. Otherwise, this concrete road will become convert into pathholes .

Corruption by all and specially by various political parties and their local leaders is the main cause of delay.
Thousands of trees cut in ratnagiri district which is sensitive area and no planning by national highway authority.. So it's disaster for future like uttarakhand but media in hands of crony capitalists and leaders

Y this taking this much years to complete? land is available, raw materials available. No reason why this is taking this much time...Govt should interfere and complete it quickly
Corrupt leaders of Raigad district are responsible for this delay. Contractors run away and fail to deliver due to corruption
Work pending is so less, you can award it to some good contractor and get it done within few months. Icha shakti nahiye. If entire highway is concrete, even of decent quality you can easily maintain 80-100 which translates to average speed of 60-70kmph, which also meams that you can cover the Panvel- Malvan stretch in 6-6.5 hours realistically. But if they do it konkan expressway becomes useless. Hence I think they are delaying the project.

Mumbai Konkani expressway is a must.
PWD should be disbanded, clearly its a incapable organization with high levels of corruption. Other new highways in the state are just on different level compared to this. The average speed cannot even exceed 50 kmph in a highway is shocking because of the uneven nature of the road.
Nitin Gatdkaris, is useless wants to cement all the roads, less grip. But lol..there have to be roads to start with
