This is so beautiful. They both kinda embellished their normal approach with eachother’s styles of singing. I love when Pavarotti dropped his volume into a nice soft smooth finish like how Mariah always does at the end to make it sound like light and sensual. Idk it was sick!
My brain can’t handle the two different languages at the same time in the end, especially since it sounds like both are singing their own song, and just overlayed them.
this might be unpopular, but starting with ‘the way’ B4 this is possibly my favourite hero climax EVER. ‘comes along’ and ‘hope is gone’ are so resonant and the vibrato rolls perfectly
The voice of Mariah is so so so so so powerful! 3:54 - 3:58 great power and great vibrato and I love the fact she adjusts the note and the vibrato moving her mouth with little movement
To be honest, on my personal preference, her Tokyo concert performance was Mariah at her Best, but still this performance was an A+ also. The best vocalist Ms Mariah Carey
How blessed Mariah Carey is to have created such an integration of worlds! This is perfect for the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries just passed. Thank-you
If this was 1995/1996 Mariah, she would have belted the G5's she did... Pavarotti would have loved it, but we can still see how much he enjoyed it. It was a great performance, love the raspiness and the way she sang through it.
Oh God you guys get so annoying with always wanting the highest note possible. She sounded great in this performance and had a special kind of timbre that makes this particular rendition unique. Also, why are you so convinced that Pavarotti would have loved the higher belts? He was an opera singer, so any sustained belt with support and vibrato is going to be pleasing to him. And she did that several times here.
As posted, this was '99. She was still in he prime, but she skipped the top notes for whatever reason. Original only goes to F5; her whistle register takes her to C7+.
@@bryanhaws4480 '99 (Rainbow era) is the year where her voice was tired. If you listen to her other performances other than this one during that year, she mostly sounded tired and raspy. My favourite part of her rainbow era is her tone, though. Smoky, dark, and buttery. Absolutely beautiful!
I'm planning a party--and playing this song--for a worker at my job, because he was a real hero. He saved my life. And it really makes me feel bad, because prior to that moment, I had kinda gotten in his face at work for touching crew members. *_Casual_* touches, like on arms or shoulders. He was always very outgoing and tactile at work. Still, I'd taken him to my colleague’s office for a chat and told him he shouldn't touch anyone without consent. Just handshakes. I said we needed the workers to be comfortable in a good work environment, that he pretty much shouldn't talk about anything other than work and school. How he shouldn't tell his stories because they may be inappropriate or upsetting (can't remember my words) to the other workers; funny to him only. I think he’s about 25, give or take. He seemed pretty quiet and uncomfortable during my speech. Answered a question or two with a nod and headshake. I don't blame him; I even said "touching without consent," which was a little harsh. It's not like he's a creep or anything. He's just outgoing. And I even said to my present colleague "Is there anything you want to add?" I didn't realize how insensitive I was that day. That's why I wanted to apologize and thank him by throwing him a great party. He deserves it. He did _not_ deserve the way I practically shamed him in front of his boss. He made some mistakes, but I didn't handle it right. I don't even think they were as bad as I made them out to be; he just needed some limits and compromise, not a firm all-or-nothing rule. I should've been more respectful and patient. I was right in some ways, but even being right can be irrelevant, you know what I mean?
Non. Il en est de même pour Mariah.
A pop singer , and she’s good , and a trained opera singer singing an averadge pop song , the gulf between the voices is incredible (in Pavarotti favour) .
THE TONE IS JUST EVERYTHING NOBODY CAN DO MARIAH CAREY NOBODY CAN TOP HER I DONTCARE ABOUT PATTY ARETHA CELINE CHAKA!MARIAH IS JUST ONE OF A KIND NOBODY! NOT EVEN CAN GET CLOSE TO HER SKILLS!
Even after it is all said it is done, I've come back to this song, with tears 😢 of sadness, Yet You, my friend, we are parting ways, It is powerful, I cannot fathom we are done, You have chose your path, And I will always love you my friend, you are my hero, you continue to inspire me, to be loving, kind, and compassionate, towards others, You have taught me so much, and as your student I have learned so much, Now, I can make it through the rain, but I will never forget when we were Underneath the stars, I will never forget you, love you always, to the big bang and back Always your baby Chim

i wanted to write 'Mariah Carey & Luciano Pavarotti' but i ran out of character space so i had to remove his first name 💀
In Italy He's called just with his surname 99% of the times, so no problem 😄
😂 Love the disclaimer 💀
Mariah's voice sounded even more powerful with this undubbed version.
I am kinda surprised by this because this was one of my favorite live performances of her at all. The power in her voice her changed that completely
Hahahahahaha the delusion runs strong in this one!
У нее так себе голос ,мне не нравится
В ноты не попадает эта девушка или попадает с трудом
Ей хорошо на подпевку
Mariah’s mother, Patricia Carey, was a professional opera singer in NY! So this is like she’s honoring her roots here singing with Luciano.
Just imagine Pavarotti is singing YOUR song
DAMN. The Power and Resonance in Mariah’s VOCALS blewwwwww me 2M kilometers away 😭😭😭 That SUSTAINED B4 BELT at the climax was solid af one the best
They say that Mariah lost her voice in 1998 but here singing in original key sounds like the studio version, she is the best💌💗
who is they?
@@nycitylifeandhistory haters.
She just needed rest at that time
C'moooon not the shadow of it and avoid all the top high notes
В другой версии эта песня звучит ярче и там высокие ноте берутся идеально,но это было несколько лет назат😢❤
This performance gives me chills...
Also, in 1999 her vocals are a lot more cleaner than years prior in my opinion. There's almost little to no rasp.
🥰
Only in this performance, but there are many others from this era in which she struggled to belt.
Eh struggling to belt and rasp are very different. Singers now don’t belt and still sound good
This is so beautiful. They both kinda embellished their normal approach with eachother’s styles of singing. I love when Pavarotti dropped his volume into a nice soft smooth finish like how Mariah always does at the end to make it sound like light and sensual. Idk it was sick!
anybody notice how her voice is so chesty and loud here?
Yesss I like it tbh
Yes im noticing anything about her i love her so much
Yes and it sounded beautiful
My brain can’t handle the two different languages at the same time in the end, especially since it sounds like both are singing their own song, and just overlayed them.
agreed! They are both magnificent but together it sounds really weird. The two languages and two completely different styles just don't match.
I feel you I don’t mind experiencing different genre’s of music.. I’m just here to check it out
This is her most powerful belting in hero ever she was keeping up with pav so well I actually adore the rasp
"sHe cOuLdNt cUt ThRoUgH aN oRcHeStrA"
Of course not the most powerful ...
She is amazing but, c'mon, she has a lot of more powerful belts in Hero
@@viniciusvarella3965 she often slays but the raw power here with the rasp is my fave
@@sentfromupabove agree
Possibly the very 2 most loved singers on the whole planet back in 1999. What an honour and pleasure to hear them sing together. Heavenly.
I think this version is better than dubbed version.
this might be unpopular, but starting with ‘the way’ B4 this is possibly my favourite hero climax EVER. ‘comes along’ and ‘hope is gone’ are so resonant and the vibrato rolls perfectly
seriously weird my all and hero were performed at the same time. We came from a raspy tone to almost none at all with this tone🥵🥵
bc she changed her technique
4:00 sounds so 1993 I'm forever shook.
The voice of Mariah is so so so so so powerful! 3:54 - 3:58 great power and great vibrato and I love the fact she adjusts the note and the vibrato moving her mouth with little movement

her undubbed performances are ALWAYS better. my gosh! i love the raspiness and the chestiness of her voice. that B4 belt is just soooo powerful!
Not always. But this is one of ‘em
@@Sttephy30they surely are always more powerful even tho they artistically maybe aren't
That tone was beautiful and so rich... Im so sad she doesn;t want to embrace her deeper tone and raspyness and prefer the edited girly vocals...

@@Sttephy30what the hell is that fake unnatural technique? Enlighten me??? 😅😅😅
@@Sttephy30 clearly you have no idea what you're saying
Even Pavarotti felt shy in front of MC, he adored her so much more than other artists that night.
In September 27, 1985, Salome Jens gave some advice to others: "So don't be afraid to show off!"
It's okay, alright? Luciano's talents were
totally extraordinary. Mariah's talents
were absolutely beautiful. That's all.
99 was a good year for hero❤️but this perf with Pavarotti is one of her best heroes ever.
God, I still cry when I hear this song, even after so many years…..
How blessed Mariah Carey is to have created such an integration of worlds!
This is perfect for the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Aries just passed.
Thank-you
Eriza la piel escuchar a estos dos gigantes, maestros. 👏👏👏
Not every artist gets to sing with the great Pavarotti. He makes every song magical and classical.
If this was 1995/1996 Mariah, she would have belted the G5's she did... Pavarotti would have loved it, but we can still see how much he enjoyed it. It was a great performance, love the raspiness and the way she sang through it.
She couldn't have hit the G5 because this is set in a different key
Oh God you guys get so annoying with always wanting the highest note possible. She sounded great in this performance and had a special kind of timbre that makes this particular rendition unique. @@Eddy6159thankyou!!!!!!
Ela cantou muito melhor do que em 1996!! Nem tudo é sobre atingir agudos, é sobre poder e interpretação
Actually she sang this in original key which is difficult alone because before this she would sing it lower
Mariah did the best B4 on 'comes'. So powerful. She seemed to struggle with that note and Bb4 during live performances.
I find Mariah the most versatile singer out of the most famous ones. Whoever she duets with always sounds great.
She must have vocal rested the hell out so she could give a performance like this.
For real, I always wonder how she was able to pull off Hero in Original Key during Rainbow era
For real!
She was singing with pavarotti who is among one of the best Male opera singers so i'm sure she wanted to sound decent singing with him
As posted, this was '99. She was still in he prime, but she skipped the top notes for whatever reason. Original only goes to F5; her whistle register takes her to C7+.

Beautiful performance. I love you Mariah and Pavarotti! ❤
Brilliant performance at all times.
