I’d like to see some explanation on defensive capabilities for armored vehicles. Seeing how many tanks have been destroyed in Ukraine it peeked my interest in defensive capabilities for tanks against anti-tank weaponry. Drones seem to be the way of the future so how ground forces and vehicles guard themselves from drone strikes would also be interesting.
Well since we renting (Czech) Grippens.. every interesting information is appreciated. Especially in these uncertain times. I would really like some cool flyby videos with your demo team;) And nice prodoction with these videos. Really enyjoyed it;)
How do you choose the type of airbreathing engine for your jets? Comparing your turbofan and turbojet engines with and without afterburners would be an interesting video.
Will that engine fit in my 9-3x though? Edit: All jokes aside, these videos are pretty fun to watch though. I also wonder if the design can be modified in the future to fit two engines instead of one, much like the Typhoon or the Rafale.
I love the in-Built flexibility this plane offer over the F-35. The low turn-around time required between flights and the primitive runway capability means every Highway becomes an airstrip which in turn means that your airforce can easily operate even if all normal support facilities have been taken out. This is an undeniable advantage in future wars. Moving air-ops support and inflatable hangars. Make the countryside and woodlands usable by air-power as well as ground one.
The first is okay, I mean, all actual planes have radars, but the second one i think is more of a secret until they use something different or better. Out of that, it would be lovely to know all of that

What's the secret sauce here? Can you elaborate on what goes into designing an air intake that supposed to be efficient through all parts of the flight envelope: subsonic, transsonic, high AoA, the little flanges on the nose cone, etc

Hey, I never really post on youtube... However, this video connected with me on a very... deep-seated core level that I don't think I've ever experienced before. I feel like I'd have to write an essay to convey just how on point you are with the undertones, and honestly... I'd give anything to be able to live there. Ya'll Saab dudes have been around for a hot minute but, your moral compass has never waned. I don't even know why I'm writing this, you're a company. I had the wonderful pleasure of getting the hell out of impending doom when Nato decided to chuck a couple of accidental presents very god damn close to a god damn bus full of literal civilians [myself included] that wanted nothing to do with any of the insanity that was going down in Yugoslavia at the time, but somehow my immediate family ended up getting into a saab after said surprise gift was lodged at said bus and I genuinely owe you folks my life in some weird, twisted way lol. I'm almost 40 now, Canadian citizen, slowly watching my country get more and more polarized in almost exactly the same way that the people in Yugoslavia started brewing initially and it makes me a little worried but more sad than anything at this point in my life. used to work for a major oil&gas giant doing all the boring network/itsec stuff... but boy howdy, the things that I've witnessed that company do without any care for the future generations made my hair stand on end once I fully understood how messed up quite literally everything is. I just unfortunately had to keep my mouth shut and tow the company line. And now, the whole world is basically back in some twisted cold war era psyop orchestrated by a single man that somehow managed to make the entire planet poop their pantaloons all at once. Fun fact, if ya'll ever get curious about why apparently the M got taken out of MaD by a former kgb pres-4-lyf, it's because a whole lot of money got shoveled at a defense contractor in Russia to breathe whole new life into deadhand... they objected a few times in official emails, for whatever that's worth... but in the end... they did what they did and yayyyyy, we get to live in this world now. This is getting kinda heavy and deep, and I'm likely going to say things that might make my life a lot worse than it currently is but, I'm rooting for you dudes. I'm not going to pretend to know exactly what the innerworkings of the grippen are in regards to security, however... a suggestion if you're willing to listen, if you're goign full fly by wire system in there, you might want to reconsider and still leave at least some basics available to the pilot if things really get ultra-wild. The US learned that a very hard lesson with the F35's publicly not too long ago, and f22's privately... a loooooot longer ago. I wish ya'll would have posted vids like these a lot earlier btw, if there's anything I can do to help ya'll out in any way, I'll happily do so... just ask... I want zero to do with money, and if it means even saving one single innocent life in the long run, whether it the life of a test pilot or any human on earth by sacrificing my own safety and life, I'll happily assist with zero worries about what might happen to me. And again, I don't want money, or some kinda backup plan, just genuinely extending you dudes and dudettes a very warm "thanks for saving my ass when it mattered by building a car that crossed my path at just the right time", i'm not a religious man but the geopolitical insanity going on right now almost makes me wish I was tbh. Anyway, what the hell is wrong me me, I'm venting to a car company/defense contractor on a Wendsday. Wild. Like I said, I'm just a middle aged ex-itsec dude that hopes for a better tomorrow for humanity, but has seen enough suffering that I'm willing to sacrifice everything so no one else has to go through the kind of crap I did first hand. tldr, ty, ya'll are a bunch of swell folks. wishing you the best, if ya'll need a hand with anything, gimme a shout... cheers - Canada.

The Grippen would control the airspace over the MLR if airbases are put out of action. I do have an email address if you have the same. The World is counting on people like you, Godspeed.
Guys, I have to say your NLAW's AT missiles are proved to be very efficient against russian armor. Lot of bastards are already fried inside, and there will be much more. Here in Ukraine we appreciate your work and tech very very much!
As a 2nd generation Canadian of (2 part) Swedish ancestry (with 1 part Irish and 1 part Scots), I hope SAAB wins the RCAF CF-188 (F/A-18) replacement competition. Sovereignty defence of Canada's high Arctic must not be handed over to an airframe that can't even fly in thunderstorms, let alone one that hasn't been proven for operation under 9-months of Arctic winter weather conditions.
Riktigt intressant! Jag skulle gärna vilja veta mera om Flygsystem 2020 och hur det går med det? Är det lagt på is pga Tempest arbetet eller vad händer? :)
The Gripen could be the answer to security to Ukraine and much of the remaining world. SAAB's solution is ideal for long campaigns that puts a crunch on resources.
@@showbikshowmma3520 offcourse! Gripen is not even in the competition. it was rejected way back. The smartest thing Parrikar did in 2016 was cancel the MMRCA and instead ordered just 36 Rafales. On the other hand, 83 Tejas mk1A was approved and finally ordered in 2016. Coming to Tejas mk2 - metal cutting has started. AMCA - Full detailed development phase has began. TEDBF - Development phase has began. Indian aviation industry is on a roll right now! The only import will be is a small number of Rafales, maybe another 36, cause India has already spent a lot for its capital infrastructure. The single engine area will be handled by over 250 Tejas. 123 Tejas mk1/A..already ordered, another 120-140 Tejas mk2 will be ordered around 2025-26.
Dear Saab, 😚 please kindly test The Gripen with 2 Fuel Tanks on its Shoulders, such as F16, and F18. If successful, The Gripen will have a great improvement in many aspects, definitely. Congratulations and good luck.😘
It doesn't need them. The new Gripen E/F version is bigger than previous versions A/B/C/D and has much bigger internal fuel tanks which improved it's combat range from 800km to 1500km. F-16 never changed it's size since they started making them, so they need them.
Brillant video format! Thanks a lot Saab! I have seen the older videos when Viggen were landing on makeshift airstrips on streets and use their engine to roll backwards. Can the Gripen perform similarly?
Awesome i love all the Saab fighter videos! Anyway you guys could make a video about the fighter jet simulators you're using currently? I recently saw a brief one about a swedish F16 squadron's simulator at they're base it was bad ass! Hoping to see one from you guys i can only imagine how advanced it is!
I would like to know how you (SAAB) are ensuring a great demonstration of the Gripen to the Canadian Armed Forces? I firmly believe the JAS-39 is the superior aircraft, and, I sincerely hope we (Canada) select the Gripen.
The perfect fighter/interceptor jet for Canada built just like Volvo's were in Halifax Nova Scotia. IMP aerospace is ready to go when Justin T finally acts.
I love this video for many reasons which I don`t go into now. But I have been up there near Jokkmok, üdevalla, Lüleä and that was in Viggen times. The only system that a "cold climate" aircraft really needs is missing from the Gripen - that is THRUST VECTORING (steeable nozzle). Much better than snow chains on the tyres!🤣❗
Hello Saab! I really love our Hungarian Gripen's! My question: how a Saab jet engine starts? Is it has an electric engine ignition or something else? I was wondering. Less related, will you make in co-op or alone a next gen fighter jet? More less related: Saab cars vere amazing, I miss them. :D
are there less chances of bird strike during winter? have you tested the jet engine's performance while inhaling a flock of Canadian geese? how does a single engine deal with bird strike emergency?

An episode where the radarsystems are explained from Tunnan to Gripen E, would be interesting. Or just how you went from B17 to Gripen.
I am curious on why the front landing gear changed from two wheels to just one on the E model.
Ett avsnitt om Visby-korvetten och dess kommande uppgradering!

Wild. Like I said, I'm just a middle aged ex-itsec dude that hopes for a better tomorrow for humanity, but has seen enough suffering that I'm willing to sacrifice everything so no one else has to go through the kind of crap I did first hand. tldr, ty, ya'll are a bunch of swell folks. wishing you the best, if ya'll need a hand with anything, gimme a shout... cheers - Canada.
one final thing, getting civilians onboard now rather than later is fantastic to see. at least, i think that's what i'm seeing. a++
Venting is good and important. We're glad you took the time!
Very good video. Let us know about the JF 17 thunder block lll. Hope to see an episode on this fighter from East.
Чекаємо в Україні. Про ці чудові літаки повинен взнати весь світ!!!
Color photos or video of the "E" model being serviced by the six technicians plus fuel truck and other vehicles in the forest. The Grippen would control the airspace over the MLR if airbases are put out of action. I do have an email address if you have the same. The World is counting on people like you, Godspeed.
Great vid. Do the tech in subs.
Which part of it? ;)
@@SaabGroup All of it. You are the people that know about such things.
Tell me about energy storage!
we just might! :)
Guys, I have to say your NLAW's AT missiles are proved to be very efficient against russian armor. Lot of bastards are already fried inside, and there will be much more. Here in Ukraine we appreciate your work and tech very very much!
Jag vill se mer om hur nosvingarna fungerar samt insidan av cockpiten. Gasreglaget, skärmar, joystick m.m.
Would love to see more of the software stuff! /from a fellow programmer!
We love programmers!
It would be cool to talk about the older tech too
Agreed!
I’d like to know more about the welding and fabrication of the A26 sub!
Seems to be a re-occurring question ;)
Hopefully we could get this from 🇵🇭🇵🇭 any update sir?
As a web developer, it would be interesting to see how saab develops the graphical interface in Gripen, how symbols, colors etc are used.
How much you charge for a website
@@alphaofficial914 Sorry I don't do smaller websites, working for a bigger company on their products.
@@denhed78 companies like which??
As a 2nd generation Canadian of (2 part) Swedish ancestry (with 1 part Irish and 1 part Scots), I hope SAAB wins the RCAF CF-188 (F/A-18) replacement competition.
Sovereignty defence of Canada's high Arctic must not be handed over to an airframe that can't even fly in thunderstorms, let alone one that hasn't been proven for operation under 9-months of Arctic winter weather conditions.
I would like to know more about the new version of the CB90
i like how saab does this unlike all other milatary combat stuff
We're glad you like it!
Great production, gj
the stirling engine on the gotland class submarine. why it was prefered over other options such as a nuclear powered one and how it works
how do u compare this jet vs indian Tejas mk1A ?? but are combat aircraft. what makes difference?
Tejas mk1A is superior. Talkin about high altitude/cold climate, Gripen C did not perform as well as Tejas mk1 during the LEH trials.
@@rohitb5834 so u believe that it's useless to purchase Gripen for India and instead they should focus on AMCA + Tejas mk2 jets?
@@rohitb5834 which aircraft India will choose for mmrca? cuz they require at least 116 more jets for now!
@@showbikshowmma3520 didn i just say that theres not gonna be anymore major imports?
As of 2035
267 Su-30MKI - 14 Sq
36+36 Rafales - 4 Sq
123 Tejas mk1/A - 6 Sq
140 Tejas mk2 - 7 Sq
67 Mig29 - 3 Sq
49 Mirage2000 - 3 Sq
40 Jaguars - 2 Sq
Total - 39 Squadrons by 2035.
Can the Gripen survive the scorching heat here in the Philippines?
Brillant video format! Thanks a lot Saab!
I have seen the older videos when Viggen were landing on makeshift airstrips on streets and use their engine to roll backwards. Can the Gripen perform similarly?
Awesome i love all the Saab fighter videos! Anyway you guys could make a video about the fighter jet simulators you're using currently? I recently saw a brief one about a swedish F16 squadron's simulator at they're base it was bad ass! Hoping to see one from you guys i can only imagine how advanced it is!
I wish we in Ukraine could have some of these wonderful jets in our fleet. Hope it’s still ahead)
My respect to Swedish quality 🦾
I wish we could send you some. Love and respect to u guys defending europe against that terrorist Putin. 🇸🇪❤️🇺🇦
How is it out there in ukraine now? Hope ur safe man
This is such an incredible aircraft. I hope my country buys a couple of them.
I would like to know how you (SAAB) are ensuring a great demonstration of the Gripen to the Canadian Armed Forces?
I firmly believe the JAS-39 is the superior aircraft, and, I sincerely hope we (Canada) select the Gripen.
Gripen is really beautiful fighter jet.
I got one for you.
A POV G-force video with the Gripen E model
That one featuring the C model is absolutely awesome, and I want more!
It's quite something. And it just might happen!
It sure would be very cool to see how the hydraulic system works on this aircraft that would be a nice thing to see.
The perfect fighter/interceptor jet for Canada built just like Volvo's were in Halifax Nova Scotia. IMP aerospace is ready to go when Justin T finally acts.
Great video, nice job
I love this video for many reasons which I don`t go into now. But I have been up there near Jokkmok, üdevalla, Lüleä and that was in Viggen times. The only system that a "cold climate" aircraft really needs is missing from the Gripen - that is THRUST VECTORING (steeable nozzle). Much better than snow chains on the tyres!🤣❗
Tell me about engine replacement or hot refuelling features of JAS-39 gripen!
Thanks, a good suggestion for future episode!
Hello Saab! I really love our Hungarian Gripen's! My question: how a Saab jet engine starts? Is it has an electric engine ignition or something else? I was wondering.
Less related, will you make in co-op or alone a next gen fighter jet?
More less related: Saab cars vere amazing, I miss them. :D
It uses a APU or auxiliary power unit, just like a airliner.
Basically a small turbine engine that force's air, to spin up the main engine.
@@andriandrason1318 thanks!
Very diplomatic explanation, without mentioning the main reason that this plane exists, threat from Russia !
are there less chances of bird strike during winter? have you tested the jet engine's performance while inhaling a flock of Canadian geese? how does a single engine deal with bird strike emergency?
Tests for this is being carried out, yes!
this plane would be perfect for Canada, as it experience more cold climate similar to sweden. Hopefully our government bids for this
I work with cutting-edge wiring harnesses for cars. So I would love to see a bit of how the electrical systems work in a fighter jet!
