Listening to Gene's interview, I had heard much of that story from a video on his own channel where some young women interviewed him. Sad that Gary had such an attitude towards Ronnie...and a curious thing calling Skynyrd music "shit"...after all that's how he got famous and that's what he had been doing almost up to the time of his death. Like Brian commented..nobody's perfect...but it's sad that he had that kind of bitterness towards Ronnie, after all if it were not for Ronnie's songs, his singing and his magnetism....they wouldn't have been as big as they became. We have to remember that they came from the wrong side of the tracks, so to speak, and being famous with music was their way out of the poor side of town. And they all had their addictions and dark side..and they are just people. They left us amazing music...and tribute bands performing them. I would like to see more of Lonestar Skynyrd...I saw a clip on facebook that Brandon Miller posted a bit of their performance. I live in Pennsylvania...we don't get a whole lot of Skynyrd around here....

But you can plant fruit trees and leave something behind to help the future people and critters. I`m gonna root 40 fruit tree cuttings this winter to give away to a rural church with a food pantry. They`ve fed me and that`s the best way I can think of to give a whole lot back to the community and they will keep giving for possibly hundreds or thousands of years if others keep doing the same. The fig and mulberry varieties I have produce fruit in the 1st season and can grow into very large bushes by October if transplanted in early spring here in Louisiana.

Coleman Theatre looks very cool. Beautiful, historical and much character. Reminds me of Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio. The oldest continually running rock club in the U.S.
I’ll always love the Skynyrd boys, my first big band as an 8-9 year old child was The Rolling Stones, until at the age of 13 when I heard a song called Freebird, musically, my life was changed and as a 13 year old kid I was the biggest Skynyrd fan on the planet, and they’re still the greatest Rock-n-Roll band of all time in my book, but sometimes folks forget that these people are human, including myself, but the are. I’ve never met a person that was perfect and until I make it Heaven, I never will meet a perfect person. So it hurts to hear some of these stories but I believe these stories need to be heard, not to belittle the band or anything of that nature but to remind people not to forget that these people are human beings and to not put them on too high of a pedestal. Thank God for Gene Odom. Gene’s the real Simple Man that Ronnie wrote about. I don’t mean to take a thing in the World away from Gary because I’m a big Gary Rossington fan like many of us are but I can pick up on people pretty quick and I believe that Gene is as honest and truthful as a person can be, I have never met him but I listen when he talks and I think he’s a good guy. The Coleman Theatre is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! It'll be 100 years old in 2029. Miami is a wonderful small town.There shouldn't be a problem finding motel rooms. Well fans see the shows, the other fans, tour buses, and it seems to be the ideal life...but when you have had two different managements ripping you off....little wonder why Ronnie wanted to keep it quiet. We see the exciting side...but you don't see the endless waiting for buses, or planes, limos, having to deal with all the vultures who want a piece of the pie.
I heard Gene's story before about Gary before on RUclips and how he kept that signed piece of paper and smoked him with that piece of paper he had in court in front of the judge when he testified. Gene's got to be the most honest guy in the state of Florida amen
If Gary said those things about Ronny and had those feelings towards him, how did Gary and Johnny ever get along? Johnny loved and idolised his big brother Ronny.
The last part of this video is why I NEVER want to meet my idols. You're bound to be disappointed. After what Gary said about Arti on "Skynyrd Uncivil War," I was absolutely done supporting the tribute band. In any way, shape, or form. To blame Gary for someone shooting themselves is absurd. If a grown man shoots himself just because another man didn't shake his hand...he was very off balanced to begin with.
