This video shows six methods how to beat Final Fight's second boss SODOM with Cody. There are maybe more methods, but these are ones that I know. SODOM can also been beaten using shifting ("endless" punching method), but that would probably last too long.
This boss was very frustrating for me when I was a kid and the method to beat him (rapid punching) was very unreliable one. Game was new and the older guys didn't know better tricks to beat him. Later I found out that SODOM can be very easy to beat boss with any character in the game.

Punching Sodom while he’s charging at you is only effective using Cody. If you use Guy or Haggar you will be knocked out and Sodom got hit just a bit, for a decent damage, simply because Guy and Haggar move their whole body when attacking while Cody just move only his fists while attacking.
We always used knee method.

I literally cannot pull off any of these. How in the hell are you tagging him before his rush connects? Even with turbo mode I can't do it.

이야 기상천외하네 돌진할 때 주먹 한대 치고 찍고 던지는 건 알지만 필드에서 저렇게 갈겨서 찍고 던지는 건 몰랐네 게다가 아래로 내려가서 소돔이 대각선 돌진하면 주먹으로 때리고 찍고 던지는 것도 몰랐고 소돔이 돌진할 때 칼 잡아서 무적시간으로 회피 후 잡아서 찍고 던지는 건 몇번 봤지만 ^^

Creeme cuando te digo que me tengo muy trillado este combate y, según mi experiencia:
Método 1: casi imposible, ni jugando con un mando con turbo.
Método 2: combate muy extraño, cuando Sodom llega a tu altura no es nada frecuente que le puedas impactar con ese puñetazo.
Método 3: sencillamente, una tomadura de pelo. Si ya es difícil impactarle apretando el botón super rápido, imagínate para calcular que solo debe de impactar un puñetazo. No funciona jamás.
Método 4: el más creible de los que has puesto aunque es necesaria mucha práctica para llevarlo a cabo. En absoluto es el más recomendable pero, comparado con los otros, al menos sí funciona.
Método 5: Sodom se comporta de esa manera 1 de cada 100 veces; seguramente la que has grabado.
Método 6: el único realmente efectivo y sencillo de aprender para un jugador medio.
1. You don't need turbo for this (unless you are 85 years old) but this is not reliable method (as I mentioned in video description already).
2. This is just experiment of Sodom behavior, I found that it is hard to use because Sodom will not dash all the time. It's just for showing Sodom mechanic.
3. THIS ONE IS ACTUALLY MUCH EASIER THAN IT LOOKS! Sorry but if you are not able to do this than I consider you average player (if not below). I can play with Sodom like this all day long.
4. This is actually Guy method. Very easy and good one.
5. Again, just for show, it exploits Sodom behavior.
6. The most know method, probably the best one.

I only said that all (almost) the methods explained (not method 6) are not useful for aprox 90% of the players. I am able to beat the game in almost all conditions (you could have a look throught my channel for checking this) thats why I think that you should be a master player to deal whith your methods.
PD: about method 1 answer: it not a question of age.
No problem,video came as result of experimenting with Sodom, just to show some interesting behavior of game mechanic. As a kids we where using first method to beat it because we where new to game and didn't know better. It was possible to beat it like that without losing life, not always of course. Interesting, while playing it on emulator I found that using autofire with too much speed is not working for this. Then I found out that you can easily stop Sodom dash attach with one punch from Cody. And it is not hard at all.

How does all this work on cody but not guy
If you use Guy punching the charging Sodom he will be knocked down and Sodom only got hit a bit. Same thing using Haggar too.
there is an another method, called "beat in, beat out", wich is hit the Boss with two punchs and then turn the control to the oposite side of the Boss, punch the air 2 times and turn the control and hit the Boss again with 2 punchs and repeat until defeat him. serves to any boss, except for Belger

Snes port is totally different as I remember. Different feel, mechanic, you know.
