    I wash my face in the morning after I use the lipid Moisture Surge at night and my skin is still moisturized, so it does moisturize at a deeper level than any other product I’ve used. My skin quality has changed tremendously from the new Moisture Surge lipid replenished. I am a Tretinoin user so maintaining my skin barrier healthy is a must and this moisturizer is the best I have ever tried (and I have tried more than I dare to admit).

      @@maisonmassingill8459 Hi! I have actually switched moisturizers. I now use Avene Tolerance Extreme Cream and I won't change again. I slather it on all over, including my eyelids (which are eczema prone) and eye contour area. Clinique's Moisture Surge is still a great cream, but I like Avene much better now for my dry/sensitive skin. Tretinoin should only be used at night. I hope this helps you!

      @@lyndsiewright5448 I am a regular user of moisture surge (the regular one) and it helped me combat my eczema to a great extent. But my skin is super dry and the gel texture wasn't enough for me in harsh winters. I always had to reapply. But now I've been using the lipid one for over a week or two and it worked wonders. Touchwood, but my skin is finally fine without the need for constant reapplication. My review is that if you don't have hyper dry skin like mine, the lipid one will be a little heavy. It's just perfect for me in the dry season. I'll revert to the regular moisture surge in summers and the wet season. Hope that helped!

    Sarah I am looking for a good moisturizer for my very oily skin and I kind of want a clinique moisturizer so I went on their website and basically narrowed it down to 5 moisturizers, since you try a lot of products, can you tell me which of these 5 would be most suitable for me? I like very lightweight yet hydrating moisturizers that don't leave the skin looking dewy or shiny, here are the 5 I looked at
    1. Dramatically different hydrating clearing jelly,
    2. Pore refining solutions stay matte hydrator
    3. Moisture Surge hydrating supercharged concentrate
    4. Clinique pep start hydroblur moisturizer
    5. Dramatically different hydrating jelly

    @lorainemcgillivray77 4 года назад +4

    Hi I am someone who never found the gel cream texture to be anywhere near moisturising enough for my very dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin. In fact I used it as a layering humectant moisturiser under a thicker cream (in the same way as I would use the Elf squalane gel or the neutrogena extra dry skin gel cream). The new version sounds like it would be perfect for my very dry skin, as I need the occlusive nature of petrolatum in a moisturiser tbh. I may try this as a daycream in the Winter, as I use a thick bodycream on my face at night as a sealing layer after my other skincare. For really dry skin the majority of facial moisturisers just aren't enough, so bodycreams or balms are needed at night to trap hydration into the skin. All the so called rich creams never seem to be enough, including the Klairs and cosrx snail. Both of these I like layered under my final balm layer though fyi. In the height of Summer a gel cream over multiple hydrating layers and sealed in with a hydrating sunscreen can work, but not for the rest of the year in Scotland on my very dry skin. I think they are targeted at different skin types and are quite different creams, so it will depend on a person's individual needs which one will work for them. I haven't seen the new version in store here in Scotland, but may try it when it finally arrives. Best wishes.

      Totally agree with the majority of the comments here. The original (previous formula) for moisture surge intense was an absolute holy grail for me. I recently had to purchase again after mine ran out and thought the new formula moisture surge intense would be fine. How wrong I was. The texture is so much more watery/oily and agree with the comments about it being too shiny for morning use. It takes a good 1-2hrs for it to eventually absorb into my skin and just doesn't keep my skin as hydrated as the previous formula - I find flaky skin occurs still later in the day. So bummed..

    Texture is such a downgrade! Such a shame because clinique is known for making very hydrating yet very lightweight moisturisers!

      I totally agree, I was thinking this new version would still have the same gel texture and I must say I was SHOCKED when I opened the jar and found a somewhat thick cream. Talk about a disappointment.

    The original broke me out

      I wonder which ingredient (s) caused that, perhaps one of the slip ingredients?

      @@NOBSBeauty I'm not sure! I really should compare ingredient lists across the products that have given me trouble. I also know that red dyes can cause acne break outs, so that may have caused some issues as well.
