While Harry Potter and the Cursed Child may have been polarizing among hardcore Potterheads, the Harry Potter play could make for a brilliant reunion for the original cinematic cast if it were to get a movie adaption. Daniel Radcliffe and company bid farewell to the franchise when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 hit cinemas in 2011. The film ended the series on a high note, showing Harry giving his son, Albus, advice as he’s off to Hogwarts for his first year.
Since the original series ended, Warner Bros. has continued to expand the Harry Potter franchise with the prequel series Fantastic Beasts, but hasn't returned to the core characters (and setting) of the original books and movies. Harry's story has continued, however, on stage: In 2015, Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling confirmed that she was expanding the fictional universe with a play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, that was set 19 years after Deathly Hallows, written by playwright Jack Thorne based on a story he developed with Rowling and stage director John Tiffany. The production opened to rave reviews from critics, but some Potterheads found the story to be contrived, bloated, and more like fan-fiction that rehashed the original series instead of being a confident continuation.

In a way though, I kind of like the idea that they don’t tell you it’s fan made. I think the joke if you understand the humor is to trick people into thinking it’s a real trailer when it’s not.
I think the only requirement for a video like this to have is to show at the end of it that they either fooled you or if it was released on April Fools Day as a prank. I just think of fan made trailers as an unserious joke so I don’t even know what to say entirely.
Don’t get me wrong though. I’m happy this isn’t a real trailer either. I don’t have to worry that they’ll kill Harry Potter next. Believe me when I tell you.

@@charredorphan779 it’s not an official trailer. It’s fan-made and the title doesn’t say that, you have to sit through the whole thing and recognize the used footage to find out if this trailer is real or not. Which could have been skipped if you had a likes-to-dislikes ratio indicator.

It may be possible for the Harry Potter cast to come on board by exceptional promotion to bring that stage play to life as a film. If it occurred, it would focus mainly on the wizard characters' children enjoying their first time at Hogwarts, only with one remaining headmaster and an upcoming curse bound to be destroyed by confidential justice.
Harry wouldn't teach at Hogwarts while his kid was there for SO many reasons. He also I'm sure would want to distance himself from Hogwarts for awhile and explore the outside world.
Eventually however, especially in his older years, I have no doubt he'll at some point teach at Hogwarts...and that this will be made a movie or show or something.

There's a couple of things that make this trailer look like a fan trailer: It's not very exciting. The "I have some questions for you professor" repeated dialog makes it seem like there's a lack of dialog to use in the trailer.
I'm actually shocked they haven't made another story where Harry is a teacher at Hogwarts where his kid or kids now attend.

I’ve been camping out in Chernobyl for the last 2 years, but before that I regularly raided rooftops to huff radon mitigation vents. As someone who sat through the play of cursed child I’ll say the story sucks but god it’s a freaking awesome show. Literally seeing huge streams of fire emanating from wands, dueling, watching the time turner work in person (probably the most impressive effect) and watching dementors fly above your head- it’s bonkers. They couldn’t do a movie of it. Too many plot holes and the whole thing is magical on stage. This trailer this person put together is interesting but has nothing to do with the narrative lol

Just a tiny suggestion for this channel to somehow integrate a short reference in EACH POST to the fact that these videos should be considered as fan-art, not official trailers. I myself am fully aware of Screen Culture's video concepts as I've been following you for a while now. But there are still so many people who watch your trailers with full belief that they're actually to be released as movies, and the disappointment that follows of this misinformation hits hard.
Your editors are doing an amazing job with the videos - why not emphasize that more? For both them AND the watchers. :)

It would be seriously incredible if they revisit the world in another 10-15 years or so with the same cast. It's still too early imo. It's a universe that has so much depth and potential to create never ending stories. Giving us a trilogy on Fantastic Beasts was easily the stupidest decision imaginable to me but it is proof of how much can be done with the universe.

If you ever get a chance, go and see the Harry potter play in Melbourne, Australia. I wasn't even a potter fan but I took my wife (She likes live plays). It was bloody awesome. It is run over two days. Some of the magic they do on a live stage is just.. wow. Excellent effects. It's set in the future, and is based mainly around Harry potter and drako's kids. You will not regret seeing it, I can tell you.

If only JK sales the license to Disney. Harry Potter is only popular with its most dedicated fans so a big budget movie series after Fantastic Beasts drained at the Box office isn't likely and the actors coming back is least likely.

I don't read the books but I don't mind watching the movies, would have seen this if it was real for sure. The video games are always great, and Harry Potter world looks fun. If it's fanmade, you have to put "fanmade" in both the title and the description, otherwise it's false advertising.
If JK was to write another Harry Potter book, it has to be very well considered, it cannot be rushed, if she’s never ready for it then let it be, the fans are very happy with the ending & any future storylines can wreck it for us.
