    I’ve seen this kind of technique shown off in pictures but seeing a video of it in action has really helped clear things up. I’ll be trying this for my fur sculpting from now on!

    I am making a squig army in AoS. I’ve been using a method with a slab of greenstuff and my hobby knife to create a fur critter appearance. It looks legit but I had felt it lacked dimension as in the fur really popping.
    This my friend is a godsend! I will reply to this comment once I’ve used your method with the results!

    I might try this. I have a wraith lord with a missile launcher/bright lance, and I was about to get another wraith lord with a sword from the Eldar combat patrol. So I got the notion in my head that maybe the missile launcher one was a Dark Reaper, and the one with a sword was a Howling Banshee. I figured the Dark reaper one would be easy, I could paint a skull shape on its head. But for the banshee one, I thought I could try to put some fur looking stuff on the back of its head to look kind of like a Banshee mask (which of course is markedly more ambitious).

    thanks for tutorial. i just did it. But it was so frustrating. Green stuf was attaching to everywhere but the miniature. Sticked to my fingers, to the tool, to the mat. I used water, but it was desperating.

    • @JamsMiniMods
      @JamsMiniMods  Месяц назад

      It can be quite frustrating when you first try. The trick is to keep your hands and tools damp, but you want the green stuff and the model to be dry. If the green stuff or model is wet, then it won't stick and you'll just keep pulling it up. Hope that helps next time you try!

    I am looking to try make some fur pelts and other cloth effects as well. When I went looking for milliput online I found different boxes. What one would be best to mix with Green Stuff?

    • @JamsMiniMods
      @JamsMiniMods  Год назад

      I haven't experimented with the other types mixed with green stuff. I use the Standard Yellow-Grey. I think that's what most people use.

    How do you keep the greenstuff malleable during the process of cutting and rolling the strands of fur?

    • @JamsMiniMods
      @JamsMiniMods  Год назад +1

      Green stuff has a pretty long curing time. So just do small amounts at a time and you should get through the process before it hardens up.

      It's actually a skull from one of the Space Wolf kits that I cast in Blue Stuff. I'm against recasting stuff, but small accessorie bits I think are fine.

      @The Hobby Pony you only warm it up in hot water and it cools down super quick, so it doesn't do anything to the plastic.
