Mate your attitude resonates a lot with me. A lot of people focus on nailing the process as a set of rigid instructions where one looks for precision. But for me it has always been about the flow, the inspiration, the improvisation. I feel this a lot while sculpting as opposed to painting with acrylics, probably because the latter dry so fast that you need to envision everything beforehand. It's bringing me towards oil paints, where the flow looks very similar to sculpting. You draft it, mix it, subtract, add, subtract, and you can go on for a day..
apologies for the late reply but I really appreciate your comment. For me, it's about feeling that flow! I hope this finds you well and you're journey with putty has been a good one
I just want to say thank you, I play space wolves and have been working with green stuff (unsuccessfully) for a while and I almost gave up on it. After watching this I think I'll give it another go ❤
This is exactly what I needed to see, wasn't sure how to make some of the models I got from the elite editon (mainly the primaris captain and outriders) fit into my SW army but I think this will definitely do the trick.
Thanks so much for these tutorials! Your conversions are amazing. Please make more for the rest of the greenstuffing you've done, like the thin tooth necklaces!
Thanks for your instruction and the inspiration. I'm just getting into Warhammer and I'm so excited to start putting my Space Wolf army together. Your stuff looks awesome
Really love the tutorials it has helped me alot! Would love to see how they turn up after youve painted them! Keep up the good work and love to see more of you in the future!
Pretty cool stuff friend. Planning on making some fur on my Lamdon lions one day. thanks for the tips and advice, keep up the good work and hope to hear from you soon.
Stunning work and far easier than I had ever imagined it could be. You've inspired me to make my own Space Wolves army! I saw a drinking horn on one of your models that didn't appear to be green-stuff. Is that a bit available for purchase somewhere? Really looking forward to seeing some of your stuff painted up! Any idea what scheme you're going for yet?
@@jarlvalbjornive never used green stuff before. Just bought some today, gonna try using just sculpting tools for now on some practice models (i am using half of the phobos strike team to try the colors and kitbashing on
Awesome!!! I tried yesterday with you beard tutorial and, mate, your videos are REALLY helpfull. Could you please share the link to get the furr and the chainmail plates? I would really apreciate. Thanks!!!
Amazing video, i love all your conversions and follow on instagram. Im completely new to green stuff conversions and am going to be trying this out soon. As a complete beginner i do have a question though. Once it has all cured and set, do i need to pop it off and glue it into place or will it set in place enough that it wont come off?
Hair, beards and pelts I never do, but if you're ever doing a sculpt on a vehicle or big flat surface area I would recommend popping it off and gluing 👍🏻
How do you make sure you mix your green stuff properly? I am struggling. I keep getting chunks, no matter how much I mix. I mix for minutes on end, twist, pull and knead but some chunks just won't come out. Cut out the center of the strip, makes no difference. It's really frustrating D:
Hey man, I've had the same problems! I had a bad batch of greenstuff that had chunks in it just like that. I would try getting a new strip of it and see how that goes 👍🏻
@@jarlvalbjorn Aw man. for shame. Thanks for the reply though! My first batch was bad, too. But it was from Army Painter and apparently several people have problems with the Army Painter Green Stuff :(

Awesome video! I’m really inspired to try this out myself. Thinking about some Mega Gargants with some fur (for AoS).

What is the name of the square plastic you used for modelling the green stuff
It's called a fur plate from greenstuff world 👍🏻
@@jarlvalbjorn thanks a lot I need one for my space wolves successor chapter
Great tuto but i have a weird question the green toothpicks? Why green? Is there a resson for it or you just buy them like that?
Thanks! It's a coincidence. I have several colors, that's just the one I picked up that day.
how do u sculpt wrinkles on cloth ???
hey nice video can you tell me what music you use? thank you
I think I googled license free music. Maybe from pond5? Hope that helps
What is this mold you used? Is it made for sculpting fur or happy coincidence?

you the dude from reddit with the beard sculpts?
I go by GIANTSWORD on reddit, I've posted plenty o' beard on there.
They're in spain though, wtf haha. I cant even get shipments from there in the US.
I live in the states and order directly off their site. Shouldn't be a problem unless they have locked off delivery?
Same. Im in the US and ordered from greens world and all is well
