Light being the killer is established in the very first episode, and the entire series is shown mostly from his point of view. We the audience are given all the answers to the mystery, and now we're rooting for the detective to put all the clues together. It's a bit like Columbo in that regard.

Even more than other FilmCow works I get the distinct feeling there are things I'm supposed to understand but don't. As if the story between Clara and Ruth is referencing some popular tropes which, if I recognised them, would suggest a few more specific plot details. Or as if the music playing during the murder mystery is supposed to tell me that it's, IDK, a TV show in the next apartment or something. As always, however, that doesn't stop me from being glad I watched it.
"Lamp? Who would upload a video about a lamp" *Sees it is FilmCow* "that explains that. I better watch it because I somehow know it is going to be awesome"
I have just watched this 3 times in a row, completely forgetting that it is my mother's birthday and that I'm supposed to bake her a cake and make dinner for her. I will now be scrambling to try and make up for lost time. In other words, fantastic work Mr. Steele.
What was Ruth and Clara's "Project"? Were the DVDs truly bootlegs? Who radicalized Yogi Bear? These are the questions we will never have answered because life is never so simple, never so uncomplicated as a a lamp, turning on and off.
@kathermov It's actually closer to two decades old my guy. 2007 is 18 years ago. If you're talking about the manga instead of the anime, it's already more than 2 decades old. Even the Netflix Live Action Adaptation is 8 years old now. Which is funny because when I said "decades old" I was actually referring more to Yogi Bear.
This video of just a lamp is the perfect combination of comedy, sincerity, and chaos. The sound design is also amazing, as always. Incredible work Jason!
thank you for the lamplit sapphic gestalt, the devastating anime spoilers, and the ripping and tearing of the flesh of the weak and the slow. Also, Spike Spiegel was the space cowboy the whole time.
What a great production! I never know what to expect with your videos except that they are always so well made! You REALLY did something cool with this one. Thank you to everyone involved, glad to see quality art is still being made on this platform!
First an email telling me I've got 48 hours to confirm my shipping address for the Llamas with Hats Epilogue, and now I've got THIS to enjoy?! FUCK YES!!!!! EDIT: Was Scuffy BooBoo, oh my god it was sweet to hear you two playing roles together!!
A failed collaborative effort? Talking about feeling like two people? A change of one's heart? Something is going on here besides a funny anime-spoiler and dead bears.
@@fluffycritter I'm plural, and it sounded to me like the voice immediately walked that back, and corrected to something implying more of an 'I've met my soulmate' vibe.
Cant help but think about the adventure time episode jake the brick with this video. Inanimate objects experience so much just simply sitting in place and taking in the things that happen around it. Love it.

I fell asleep for two hours immediately after finishing this video and in my dreams I generated the scenes off camera plus even more. The ending went further though. The building was very damaged and there were city officials there at the time so the landlord got written up and was fully on the hook to repair and upgrade everything. Not allowed to raise rents or evict anybody for this. Everyone was so happy. We made friends with the construction workers, it was great.
God damn. I love you.
Love you too, friend!

Here I was enjoying the sight of a lamp, now I gotten Death Note spoiled for me. My feelings for this project are complicated but mostly good.
Do not worry, the joke of the "spoiler" was that it wasn't a spoiler. Jerry basically told Enzo that Batman is Bruce Wayne.
HOLY SHIT BRUCE WAYNE IS BATMAN??? HOW DARE YOU SPOIL BATMAN FOR ME
Light being the killer is established in the very first episode, and the entire series is shown mostly from his point of view. We the audience are given all the answers to the mystery, and now we're rooting for the detective to put all the clues together. It's a bit like Columbo in that regard.
@@AnoN-zp7spwell have I got a surprise for you, Batman could have stopped 911 and didn’t!
no clue what emergency services has to do with the batman
this better be a 90 minute biopic about the depressing mental struggles of a lamp that doesn't get used very much
Not quite. It’s 18:23. Otherwise, spot on
you know you've got it made when an 18 minute video simply titled "lamp" pops up in your subscribers' feeds and we all say "hot damn!" and immediately click

This will be a defining moment in cinema history
"A lamp sits on a table. Most of the time, the lamp is off. Sometimes, however, the lamp is on."
Such a compelling story.
Idk what's happening, but I trust filmcow with my entertainment
My favourite part about this video was we all got to see a lamp. And not only that, sometimes the lamp was on, and the sometimes it Wasn't!
I have a feeling this will be entered into the Library of Congress within 5-10 business days
This was so unnerving at times. "Clara, we we're right." That gaves me the chills!
This was so good!
Thank you Jason for being a lamp in the dark times
The Yogi Bear reveal was the perfect crescendo to the story.
Bravo Jason.
Oh, what a lovely fountain pen!
I just wanna say: so grateful to be alive the same time as FilmCow.

The voices in the murder mystery kinda start and stop suddenly, so I figured it was somebody turning on a movie.
Jerry's voice fading as he hollers LIGHT YAGAMI is only one of the gold nuggets within "lamp."
Pov: You are lampsitting for Clara
And are invisible to bears.
Truly, a generation defining piece of artwork. Bravo, Jason Steele.

This and the Garfield audio theater proves to me that Jason is as good at being serious as he is at being silly, usually at the same time.

Communist Yogi is the best new FilmCow character
Clara puts up with a lot, for a ghost. I can see why she makes for a good collaborator.

No, brother!

FilmCow starting off his 2025 strong.
You said you would do this, and you followed through. That lamp is majestic, and worthy of this amount of random attention. 😊

What a timeline where Death Note is written from the point of view of L.
Classic Filmcow masterpiece: We have avant-garde cinematography, murder, intrigue, and references to decades old animated pop culture!

I have a 5.1 surround sound system. I wish youtube would support 5.1. It would be even more incredible. God, I love these.
The moment RUclips supports surround sound, the downmix on every new video of someone speaking, will have dialog inaudible via the front speakers...

Murder mysteries
Post-apocalyptic settings
