- In preparation for the new year, many churches are entering a time of prayer and fasting. Some people may not understand why one would fast and pray. I will explain what fasting and prayer means and how that effects a believers walk with God. In this teaching, I will explain from the bible 10 purposes for fasting and prayer.

Jesus can and will give us whatever we ask Him for.. I, Diabetic type 2 asked Jesus to help me fast. I was already using intermittent fasting. The Lord Jesus gave me 1 full week of fasting and I experienced an increased answer to prayers and I was less resisted because Jesus and I were feeding my spirit, together. WOW.

I like Evangelist Shuttleworth approach and teaching is top of the list with me He such a humble person.. He never asked for nothing for his teaching and his knowlege ... Just like old school and ..This tells alot about this man and his character and i seen alot of preachers in my 56 yrs always want you to give a donation for a book they written He stays in the Bible. learns from the Bible ... and reads from the Bible ... Just as my Grandpa told all young ministers coming up in his day When he was preaching Before he went Home .in the 1980's and I can say some of them did and some of them did not ... as i was brought in the church and learn from my grandmother and my sweet mother

My cats fast for two or three days when they are sick. The body heals itself when the irritant is removed.

Most churches do not teach fasting. I am glad I came across this teaching. I have been listening to all the series of fasting and the 10 purposes why we need to fast. Your teaching is very comprehensive and clear. I need to listen few times to digest it. I have been listening to your sharing everyday and every night. Thank you Bro Tiff for sharing.

I stumbled upon this today and thought I had seen everything available on fasting. This is great and exactly what I wanted. It's very indepth. There's some kooky stuff out there and this is solid teaching. I'm a retired nurse so I appreciate your being prudent about it. Thanks for your study and sharing.

I chose to use passages that are not controversial. The reference to fasting in verse 21 in the KJV is not contained in all the original manuscripts. That is why it is not included in modern translations.

The Lord Jesus himself told the his followers."went you fast" he didn't say if you fast. So the Lord Jesus expects us to fast. I know by experience the sometimes the holy spirit want you to fast.

Repentance toward God is a change of mind from unbelief to belief you believe what God says your a guilty sinner and then your only remedy is trusting in Jesus and having faith in his blood. Turning from sins is a WORK. Commitment to the lord is a WORK. Prayet is a WORK. Anything you add to faith alone in Christ alone is adding a WORK to the gospel of grace.
James 2: 17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. ... [26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
@@TiffShuttlesworth that's justification from mans prospective. The verse says a man may say. That would be dead faith to not save a man from his physical troubles. Eternal salvation of the soul is grace through faith without works
Can we fast other things like tv, drinking sóda,
or something that we like to do instead of food? Would God honor this?

I live in the province of Quebec and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to live as the Government has taken everything imaginable to be able to live normally, I am now only permitted to enter a grocery store and pharmacy and soon I dread that that will also be taken away. My fear is that if I comply and get the vaccine and be rewarded with the vaccine passport would that be the Mark of the Beast
No, the vaccine passport is not “the mark of the beast.” However, we are watching the stage being set for final prophecy. (Listen to my teaching on RUclips; “Is the Vaccine the Mark of the Beast?”)

"What Is The Purpose Of Fasting & Prayer?"
Well first kind Sir: I believe there is no direct comparison between "Fasting and Prayer". Although when fasting; it does give one the perfect time to pray; where one might not have prayed; when they are not fasting.
Secondly: The bible talks about fasting; but after Jesus was crucified, resurrected and ascended to the Old Heaven; I am not sure fasting is needed any more. IE:
2 Samuel 12:23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
1 Kings 21:9 And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:
Nehemiah 9:1 Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.
Esther 4:3 And in every province, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
For who today stones a persons to death; if they murder another one? Or who today kills a lamb because Jesus (who IS God) told them to do it; and cooks it and must eat it before sundown? Or who kills a gay person because it is an Abominable Sin? Or who fasts, while weeping, and wearing a "sackcloth" and "ashes" today. Etc, etc and ETC!
Thus I feel fasting died (as so many other "common religious" things that "were" the laws) with Jesus' death.
As to praying; we should pray OFTEN; sincerely to Jesus and confess we are wretched sinners, etc. Oh indeed yes!
Could I be wrong? ABSOLUTELY Yes!. But all others could be wrong too...
...In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
Your view is not Biblical. Fasting was clearly practiced in the New Testament after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Christian’s fasted 2 days a week for almost 400 years.
Tiff shuttlesworth could you do a video on the 9 gift's of the spirit I'm a young minster and full of the holy ghost and desrise more of the anointing of god and I really enjoyed your video on fasting going to do a fast in January
