- Just experimenting with two microphones and my Drums. Trying to get some quality Acoustic Drums Sounds and also having fun. Lol the frames falling...
I like how your picture fell off the moment you started playing!
Lol so distracting! But no more falling pictures anymore, I put them somewhere else hehe.
All the picture frames are falling 😂😂..but it was nice to see how it sounds this kit.. goodjob man 👍👍 thank you for sharing

Thanks for watching! ✌🏼
All the frames falling makes it so awesome lol keep rocking bro
Lol thank you!
O quadro até caiu irmão! Som top!!!!
Sounds incredibly punchy with the overhead condenser mic 🎙 and SM 58 on the kick drum. Nice 👍 drum sound and playing. I have a Breakbeats red sparkle burgundy kit that I use for my Jazz gig. Love this kit. The entire thing fits in my trunk. Love it. Nice job.
Oh thank you! Yeah it’s a pretty nice and a portable kit, I love it! Actually the kick drum mic is digital reference, but I just got a shure beta 52A that sounds killing and I’m gonna be making some videos of it! Subscribe for more to come!!
@@joshsotodrummer Sounds good Josh. Thanks

this was the video that made me want to buy my break beats kit.. Thank you bud, sounds amazing
Oh thank you for watching! I’m glad the video helped you! Hope you rock that drum kit!
Dude! Sweet Jam!
Thanks!!
Nice set up. I dig the drum beats you are playing.👍🏼
Thank you I appreciate it! Subscribe for more videos coming soon! 👍🏼
Okay. I did. 👍🏼
Josh - Using "Drum Dial" what should I tune the floor tom to? I have the same Breakbeats kit. Thanks!
@@ejames6431 I don’t use a drum dial sorry, just by ear, but it depends of how do you want to sound like. With those factory drumheads if you want a lower sound is better to tune it kind of low or loose at the top with a little bit of muffler and a little bit higher the bottom drumheads. Make sure that the pitch on every side of the screws sounds similar to the other side, and then adjust the tension more or less if you want it higher or low tuning.
Nice playing👍 I have a Breakbeats kit ❤️ It!
Thank You! Yeah is the best!!
I also just got one,,, it has a reddish wood grain finish,,, ( I put a Slingerland logo on the Bass Drum ),,,, sounds even better!
Nice tuning!
Nice!
Love it!🔥🔥🔥
honest sounds
Say! Just for fun… new video title:
(Ghosts tell Drummer he’s two loud.)
Or:
(Supernatural drummer gets ghosts to communicate with pictures while playing.)
Ha! Nice video, man!
Or might be my neighbors telling me to stop it who knows lol
@@joshsotodrummer Nah… that’s not spooky. Sheesh!
Well… unless you have a very spooky neighbor. That could work, maybe. Hmmmmm
I feel a movie plot developing right before our Drums! Oooooooooeeeeeeeeeooooooooow!!!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🥁👻👻👻👻👻
Good playing, I too have this drumset
Thank you! Is the best!!
@@joshsotodrummer I'm very happy with it 😁
good
I'm so into this drum sound I can't even stand it.
Edit: my phone has a compressor app that I left on...so...I just added a drum buss on accident basically.
Interesting! Maybe that’s what was missing to the mix. Thanks for watching!
@@joshsotodrummer totally. You had the effect of making me shortly after drive to my rehearsal space and pick up the sticks. Rad playing.
I think I watched this a bunch of time now and now just after I watched a ... Tama Rhythm Mate youtube video. I love your snare sound better. Do you have a video on how you tuned it? :)
Thanks for watching! Actually the other drum that I have at the corner is a Tama Superstar Classic. I love Tama but the factory Drumheads are not that good than the Factory Drumhead (Remo) of this Ludwig Breakbeat. I’m considering to do more videos about how to tune the drums, and eventually some videos with my 7 piece Tama Drums.
I have limited space and, I think this kit would be great for my daughter. Only thing is that both her school and private drum lessons are conducted on 5 piece kits. I don't suppose you can get additional matching toms?
To me being in Nashville, Tennessee, almost all the drum kits at the venues are 4 pieces just like this one, so it’s mostly how you wanna use it or what you consider necessary. Either way I think this drum kit could be nice with another floor tom maybe a 14 inches size, or a 12 inches combined with the 10inches in a separate stand. Not sure if you can find a matching one but at the end that’s what drums are, just a bunch of stuff together to hit and make music! 😄
@@joshsotodrummer Yeah for sure. I play in a couple of Alt-Americana sort of bands and the drummers I work with tend to play 4 piece kits too. For my daughter though she has to play exercises written for 5 piece kits and therefore needs one to practice them on.
@@Grant_Ferstat oh ok, yeah the Ludwig is good to rock from the box. But if you still looking for a good size and 5 pieces I know Tama Imperialstar, PDP or Pearl Roadshow Jr. are some other good options too!
@@joshsotodrummer unfortunately their footprint is way way bigger which is an issue for us with limited space.
Picture fell of the wall in the beginning. On your lift side of hi-hat. If you set bind drum set.😅
That’s the power of this drum set!! 💪🏼😁
Hey what mics are you using they sound really good
@@jshdbbdhdbdbndn2361 hey sorry for the late response! For the overhead mic is an Audio Technica Condenser Mic AT2020 and for the kick drum a Shure sm48
How big is the footprint for this set compared to a standard kit?
Breakbeat or tama club jam or pearl midtown?
I haven’t tried the tama club or pearl midtown but I had a pearl roadshow compact kit and I personally didn’t like it. I like the Ludwig breakbeat because is a good price and it’s good to rock from the box. But at the end almost all drums sounds good with a good drumheads, it’s all about how much money you want to spend and what brand and hardware you like it more.
Sounds great! Was that recorded with just the one overhead mic and the kick mic?
Thank you! Yes, correct! And some basic EQ
sounds great, what heads do you use on the toms and snare, I got mine second hand and it came with a G1 on the snare (batter) and the stock heads everywhere else but it's time to replace
Thank you! Those are the stock drum heads that comes with the drums, which are made by Remo. But they are pretty much like the Remo clear Pinstripe for the toms (batter) and an ambassador on the top for the snare!
How do you configure the condenser microphone to be able to record the drums like this!? I need to know how it is possible, hence my respects!
Hey thanks for watching! What do you mean? In terms of position or on the computer? For this one I was trying different places for the mic, but I chose that one to register more the snare, tom and a little bit of the hihat and floor tom, also far away enough to not capture the crash cymbal too much. And then I did a little bit of EQ on the computer, I think I used Garage band by that time, boost a little bit the lows and put some compression. At the end is about experimenting with different settings or placements until you find a sound you like.
Would you say this kit is good for lower volume jams? For like acoustic guitar and bass?
Yeah I actually keep it as my apartment drum kit for band practice, it all depends how much you muffler the drums and what intensity you play. For the size of the drums is not that loud as a standard size but still can rock or be soft and groovy. Thanks for watching!
@@joshsotodrummer thanks dude!
I know this may seem like a strange question, but about how many feet are there from the front of the kick drum to your drum throne? I’m trying to determine whether or not this kit would fit in my small recording space.
How did you figure out that squonky kick riser without the pedal hitting the hoop?? It’s a major flaw with the breakbeats that I haven’t been able to solve
I think it depends of the pedal too. At the beginning I used a Tama drum pedal and it was hitting the hoop when I put it for the first time so I tried to adjust it between the riser bolts and the hoop and the clamp of the pedal too, in a way that doesn’t hit it but it’s not too loose from the riser neither.
But then I changed the kick pedal for another brand (pdp), which is a little bit smaller and it fits better, I had to adjust the beater length a little bit but it works!
Thin sounding kit
so newbe
Great drums but get rid of those cheap sounding cymbals asap!
Yeah I actually sold them and got some variety of Zildjian cymbals! Check my other videos to hear them!
dude something fell off
Inconsistent playing
Working on that
