Is there a recording limit on 4K 60fps? I’ve watched most of the reviews and no one mentioned about it. Nothing on the specs too. Can you verify it?
@@francoisbenoit6752 I just watched video from Jason Vong, he said that this is prototype phone and a lot of features they can't try yet. So that might be the reason why nobody say anything about it. ;D

James, the Sony Xperia Pro-I is a sicc piece of hardware and I do agree with you about it's drawbacks which is the main reason why I won't be getting it. Well, that and the $1800.00 price tag!
Not everyone is balling out of control, living the BOSCH Life like you are.. I'm a frugal individual and I'm not ashamed to say that; that being said, the Red Hydrogen One smartphone has just what is missing from the Sony Xperia Pro-I and since it is now a discontinued item you can get one for around $150.00.
If there's any phone company I want to see succeeding, its Sony.

Right sony has been around for use and it's always a hit or miss...
Sort the software out, start supporting the phone with updates for more than 12 months and fo sho I’ll start buying them again.

It's a close shootout between the OnePlus 9 pro and Xperia pro I quality of shots wise on the photography side .. phones have came so far quickly
Most of the reviews missed the best feature of this phone. It has a BIONZ X image processor inside which is same image processor could be found on a7S II.

This phone is really made for the pros. Those normal phone reviewers would talk smack about this cause Sony didn't really put much AI stuff in the camera's auto mode.
I wish they had so that more people would actually buy the thing, just have a pro app for people who want that experience and a dumb dumb app for me and everyone else.

And the sheep share posts like yours. There's nothing "for the pros" about this. Except a couple modes and an insanely high price tag.
And if it matches the pro and 1iii it is in fact behind the competition in numerous aspects in battery, speakers, display, availability, etc.
The only difference is finally possibly a comparable camera that's still held back by being on a Sony. And I don't mean because of sharpening....

When I tell you that my jaw literally dropped at the first couple phone shots. I was expecting slightly better than iPhone video. This is such a leap forward. Holy 😲
This phone by far has the best-looking multi camera setup in a phone. Hopefully Sony releases a non-Pro model with the similar build and look.

Yea, I wish Sony put this camera sensor on upcoming mark IV.. this camera sensor on Xperia pro-i is 5x better than regular sensor on xperia 1 III
Still, Sony need to market this out, even though Sony's targets are just for professionals, they still need to let people know that this is the photo with a real camera and not artificial camera.
I think they are doing a pretty good job at marketing this since every blogger is featuring this phone before its release next month.
@@moneydozen an efficient way, like one of the current most annoying ads Samsung fold 3 and flip 3, 15 second on almost every single clip that I search on RUclips. Sony needs to put on some ads like that.

The ProRes gives decent quality, but has big files to deal with compared to regular h264/5
It doesn't really take much to blow them away. They're pretty much overhyped :-)

I have to say the imagery I've seen out of the Xperia Pro-I is the best of any smartphone footage I've seen. Amazing imagery. I would like to see a feature or short film shot with it.
Footage looks incredible! With all the cimputational photography packed in most phones along with this sensor....it's literally a new era!
I saw a Sony promo where it looked like they just some sort of night mode. Probably still needs a tripod idk, they didn't show that in detail

@@Danielbode14True. However, it all comes down to implementation, like in DACs. Just because your DAC has an AKM chip doesn't necessarily make it a great product, the whole circuitry counts as well...
Damn this sounds like a sick camera/phone. This would easily replace the need to bring an extra vlogging camera which was such a pain sometimes. But that pricetag is also a huge pain so 😢

Sony make great camera smartphones and unique like no others! They deserve massive serious attention from all and l wish they can be in the top 5 again of the smartphone competition the soonest.

James, you probably saved this Sony device.. Really outstanding footage and color grading..
Seeing previous reviews, b-rolls etc the device seemed not to perform good. Sure, it's quality is a phone after all (ant cropped 1" sensor to 60% of real area), but seemed worse than Iphone 13PM or Mi 11 Ultra, but seeing this now seems this rig is not bad at all. Very depends by the hands and mind that is controlling it. You did damn well! PS. Subscribed, seems there is tons of good content here!
All depends on user. Most user’s are not a pro photographer like him. So their review or images come out dull. He really saved this phone. Looks amazing. I love it and possibly want upgrade from my 1 iii.

I think most reviewers are only able to use auto mode, also they tested an early version, maybe there were some changes software wise.
When you think about it, its just sad how these influcers can kill a great product, because they have no idea what they are doing.
I saw a video from a french guy (Pierre T Lambert - check his vid) making pics in USA with this thing. It's so incredible good when you think a bit and adjust the modes / options properly. It's insane 😍

This is such a sick device, I would love to own. But it's still very costly for me.
2 years have passed and still being priced out by the Xperia lineup, I keep coming back to this vid to listen to the killer tune at the beginning. Such as an emotional track to listen to before hitting the gym! Soundhound doesn't recognise it, otherwise it'll be on my playlist on Spotify straightaway.

You mentioned the comparison to the RX 100, but how would you compare it to the ZV-1?
That's a great question. I bought the ZV-1, mainly for its stealth. My Sony A9 and Sony A7Rlll get too much attention when I just want to be a regular Joe and maybe go to a small venue and take some photos just for pleasure.
Not to mention ZV-e10. and that costs half of what this phone is asking too.

Is it my GPU or monitor or is the video not fluid? I mean the 4K and image quality is excellent, but the movements seem to lag somehow.

Amazing footage as always. I have a an A7III, ZV-1 and iPhone 13 Pro but still finding myself using the ZV-1 90% of the time as good as the iPhone 13 Pro shoots (especially in ProRes). Simply because of the unbeatable combination of form factor + manual control dials on the ZV-1. Shooting with phones via apps and touchscreen is just too finicky and time consuming, robs the joy for me at least of shooting on the fly. Still an incredible glimpse into the future, and if this were able to record in via HDMI as a monitor making it a ZV-1 and Atomos Ninja V wrapped into one it absolutely justifies the hefty price tag. I'll take two!

I read in another article that the depth of lens on mobile is less making it crop sensor... effectively making it not a 1 inch or so sensor
4k 100 on an 1nch sensor and unlike the rx100 it doesn't catchfire or shutdown after 5mins?
