I used to love to shop at Goodwills but not anymore. The Goodwill near my house has nothing to buy especially home goods. I don't donate to Goodwill because I don't see the items I have donated. I donate some good stuff but I don't see them on display for sale. I went daily to check. Now I donate to local charity thrift stores for animals, homeless, etc.
GW takes their better donations and auctions them off for themselves. I, too, will not donate to them. There is a great ministry thrift store near my house I donate to.
I donate to the local thrift store that also runs our food pantry. Good Will moved into our little town of 8K and is taking some of the donations away from our local store. 😡 It's frustrating because they don't help out our community and their prices are much high for lower quality goods! Every summer our pantry gives out free lunches to kids MWF... and weekend bagged meals to families in need - on Top of giving local families monthly food allotments. The local school distributes the kid lunches via a few yellow busses and to central locations like the trailer courts and local park where kids parents can walk to get them. We didn't want the Goodwill but we couldn't argue with them wanting to lease the space. I refuse to support them. Give to your local thrifstores and make a difference in your community.

The burl wood jewelry box looked like ones I used to sell at Nordstrom. They were called Agresti jewelry boxes from Italy with gold plated hardware and suede interiors. They were pricey.

Unfortunately the Goodwill stores in central Florida can be "slim pickings" compared to what you have in Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, etc. There are two in Gainesville and one has dishes piled everywhere and a lot of broken items with limited space for the type of items you like. The other one is only slightly better. Think a lot of stuff is sent to other locations..maybe Jacksonville. Lots of clothes in both. Good luck.
The GWs in FL have so much more new stuff than the ones near me in PA. Once in a while I do find something good but like you said that's not what I'm there for.
