This concert was definitely the highlight of Silverchair's career! Biggest crowd! Biggest Energy! The boys are enjoying it more than any other show they've ever done! This is the closest they came to being rock gods. If Johns had of kept up the hard rock and grunge in his writing they would've become bigger still. The fans loved it! Their career definitely waned after Diorama, even though that was still a brilliant album! But Dan should've kept that as a side project. It wasn't for silverchair.
I’ve seen countless metal bands in concert yet I saw silverchair live during neon ballroom era and my ears rang for 10 days afterwards. Loudest band I’ve heard by far live including Motörhead but they blew everyone else off the stage.
MAN, I WENT THERE, THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! This show in Rock in Rio III was much better then Red Hot Chili Peppers just after. Anyways, this was the best day and the record of public of all Rock in Rios.
Some of the best to ever do it. I’m not exaggerating. And they’re like 21 here JFC. Grateful I got to see them 4x between ‘99 - ‘07 and hope to again someday.
I agree with Daniel about the progression of his music. Loved the first two albums when I was in high school...but God...I was just a kid then. My taste in music has changed and improved heaps since then, as have Silverchair's. Their newer music is so much better, but not everyone is capable of realizing it b/c they're stuck in the late 90s.
I think when they did they wrote this song and the rest on frogstomp, they were like 16 and still really talented. Now that they're older they are way more talented. He hits all the notes, not many singers can hit high notes like he does. I'm waiting for a silverchair come back, they could so do another gold record. rock on
That's the kind of music we like... and I said "we", 'cause most of the silverchair's fans grew up with this songs... and these sound's identify a lot of people (and myself too)... but I can't say the same thing whit the new "DUBY DUBY DOO HAPPY SONGS"... It`seems that a few people like it... for me.. Silverchair 1994/5 - 1999 RIP
They're not sell outs! Daniel and the band just wanted to try a new direction. I admit their new stuff is not even close to being as great as their old stuff, but it was their decision to change, not the record company's.
his voice is amazing and he can hit higher notes than most singers, av alook at emotion sickness in 2003, he goes higher than micheal jackson ! silverchair are amzing.
anybody that's seen the Street Fighter Animated Movie (awesome btw) did you catch Ken listening to this track in his car? awesome tunes silverchair rocks
@thenewpollution2 first thing, he plays on his Les Paul Custom, so the tuning on this guitar is different (kind of Open C#). Look for Emotion Sickness tabs to get the good tuning.
the fact remains that early silverchair (frogstomp and freak show) is immensly derivitive of music which came before. For example, this song is a thinly veiled rip off of Even Flow by Pearl Jam, Roses (off Freak Show) is similarly Kashmir by Led Zepplin and No Association is My Own Summer by Deftones. HOWEVER, with Diorama Johns started o show his songwriting prowess with songs such as Tuna In The Brine and The Greatest View. It's just a pity that they released such an MOR album as Young Modern.
yeah i agree with fau1tline. u can expect a band to stick with the type of music they play. look at alice in chains nirvana even metallica stayed with metal they just changed their style. its okay for a band to change especially when they wanna convey a different mood just not to the degree that u cant even tell who the band id
I think it's b/c it's all too rare when they visit Brazil...so when they do they have to have it as big as possible!! that, and...there are a ton of Brazilian fans :)

Diorama was Silverchair's best album. Dan definitely should _not_ have kept it as a side project.

He has a great guitar sound, love the distortion, its just right.
O melhor do rock in rio 3..
Hard to believe this was less than 2 years after Neon Ballroom...he looks mad different.
He looks 10 years older
man, the part how everything slows down and then daniels like "your laaaaaaate" that gives me the shivers! awesome concert, wish i was there. =]
MAN, I WENT THERE, THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! This show in Rock in Rio III was much better then Red Hot Chili Peppers just after. Anyways, this was the best day and the record of public of all Rock in Rios.
What a lucky man

They played it last week at HOB in Anaheim and they pulled it off better than ever!!! Daniel's just a God, he's mind blowing!
This song is incredibly good, considering he wrote when he was 14.
As I remember there are 250K people there!! The biggest SC concert!

one of my favourite bands as a teenager.
love this version
The rock in rio 3's heaviest guitar ever.

yep, by far the best live version of israels son ive heard =]
I want a saucy sparkly robe like Daniel Johns...
i think this is my favourite of all the live israels son performances by SC
They're not sell outs! Daniel and the band just wanted to try a new direction. I admit their new stuff is not even close to being as great as their old stuff, but it was their decision to change, not the record company's.
SUCH A GOOD OPENING TO A SONG.
I love when Dan goes higher than Michael Jackson in some parts :D
Eu estava lá... muito foda!!!!!
And it is !!! It is already available in Aus!!!!
amazing performance
saw them on the 6th of march 1996 in Germany at the beginning of their career .......they had a lot of power
Israel's Son is one of the greatest grunge songs ever written
awesome performance
@GAMINDORE watch their 'freak' video from the same concert so full of energy
Frogstomp For Life.
Third Fav off that album.
the full album is on there myspace page, ive bought a copy, just waiting for it. its awesome.
This song with this year oh yeah it’s gonna be wild 😂
his voice is amazing and he can hit higher notes than most singers, av alook at emotion sickness in 2003, he goes higher than micheal jackson ! silverchair are amzing.
That's a funny question, because Pearl Jam helped make them as big as they are by promoting them. Eddie was impressed by them
também fui. perfeito
anybody that's seen the Street Fighter Animated Movie (awesome btw) did you catch Ken listening to this track in his car?
awesome tunes silverchair rocks
Yes! There is Alice in Chains as well.
is beatifule !!!
Two years ago you were here!
Damn, this is a great jam!
@bronxandrew I always wanted to see them live. RIP Layne. I also never got a chance to see Silverchair live either -_-

Silverchair were my fav band back in this era. Not a fan of their stuff from this decade but what can you do?
Sensacional
I agree I like the old Silverchair, the heavy stuff.

however their music did change when daniel stopped singing in his husky voice.. still love it
cool tune.
real good live sound and show...
better than the original (my oppinion!!!)
Favorite song off Frogstomp! I can relate to it. Especially right now.
