Each of the 11 US aircraft carriers can carry 90 fighters, so 990 jets total on our carriers. The Navy always having 11 aircraft carriers is per a Congressional mandate.

Despite the perils of having such an investment at sea, it appears the Chinese now recognize the value in carriers.

I think one of the advantages of a system like this is that it could be carried (potentially) in any ally's cargo plane that was large enough to carry it, and modified to drop it.
