I’d take the 1 year. If you went with 5 years the other inmates would always request you do things for them on the outside knowing you’ll be back next weekend.

Since you asked, for real I was a Hindu monk for 3 years. Each monk was assigned to a work group. Myself and one other monk were the main cooks for the 22 monks that lived there. The others did outside work/landscaping. Another group did publications and outreach, and the last took care of all the finances. We all worked for 8 hours a day like a normal job. We worshiped for about 45 minutes and meditated for 1 hour a day as a group. But we also had individual vigils that were 3 hours long of being in the temple alone at all hours of the day, performing Puja and meditation, studying scripture, etc. My vigil was from 3am to 6am everyday.

There’s a gorgeous Buddhist temple in upstate NY called Kadampa. You babes should totally go and let Pimp document it 🙌 It’s all female monks, who feed the deer by hand at dusk. They make delicious vegetarian food. The monks all have unique personalities- one was the jokester and swore. Another was a mom. There’s varying degrees of strictness in diff subsects. The “how to be a monk” you were reading sounds to be for Catholic churches, like the Benedictine Monks. That temple was laid back and you can join any meditation or not. They have beautiful grounds w/ a hiking path 🌿

My dad's sister has been a monk since 1991(shaved head and all), she's in her 60s now happily living at mount tremper mountain monastery in upstate NY for about 20 years. I've visited several times and done monk stuff with her. Her birth name is Jody Kimmel but she's been going as Hojin for years.
When I was 15 I got locked up and went to Juvi and then essentially a more strict version of military school (court ordered) for 10 months. Once you progressed through the system you got day passes and could eventually go home after school from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. So I'm definitely taking the 5 years of just weekends in jail.
My family had a Vanessa hudgens cut out. Life size that we used to hide in the house in random locations to scare the crap out of eachother. Also Harry styles TIX are so hard to get. I waited in line for hours and still didn’t get them. They sell out in milliseconds
