Appears to be a straight forward build with some: math, measuring, well placed cuts, glue, screws, and paint. Construction and colour techniques can be applied to many other paper, card, and flat sheet crafting projects. Thank you for sharing.
I get the idea of DIY inexpensive props, and this tutorial is very good on how to make something inexpensively, BUT ... durability of props is a real issue. Why make something that won't stand up to performing and traveling over the long run ? I can see using cardboard or foam core board for making a prototype version to get the dimensions working properly, but in the long run I can't see this lasting very long. It would be better to spend a bit more and make one properly from birch plywood. Don't misunderstand me, some props can work perfectly well if made from cardboard or foam core , but this one has stress factors that seem like it will likely fall apart fairly quickly. Have you performed with this prop ? Does it last?
@@letsmakemagic8233 It was not created by the "Masked Magician" (Val Valentino). He stole it from the original creator, U.F. Grant, who first marketed the "French Arm Chopper" effect in the 1950's. Credit where credit is due, please. Valentino created nothing of his own, he only stole other people's material and exposed it. At first Valentino used a ludicrous cover story/premise that he was trying to "help magic advance" by exposing "old , out-dated methods" which would lead to a new era of creativity as magicians (led by Valentino) would create new and improved magic. That never happened; it was all a lie to begin with; he was just trying to justify himself for selling out and betraying magic to make some money since he had failed to make a go of it as a Las Vegas magician. Valentino never created any new magic in the years since he started exposing, he just kept stealing other people's creations to expose on his shows.
Many moons ago I use to own the magic shop version of this. I’d put a rubber hand in the basket and cut off a specs hand then throw the hand into the audience….always great reactions lol. The fact that you count cut an apple in half with the blade first sold this big time! Thank you kindly for the share 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Complimenti per le sue creazioni, la seguo dall'Italia ,mi piacerebbe se riuscisse a costruire la lavagna che si chiama MENTAL EPIC e' un gioco che conosco ma mi piacerebbe sapere come costruirlo. Grazie e buona giornata.
Hi motherfucker, do you still have the blueprints to build this guillotine? If you do, can you please upload it? It looks amazing and I want to build one myself!
Very cool 👍...but would be helpful if you show how it looks/works during the illusion. Outside that, great vid 😊
Both holes appear during your demonstration! 🤣

Not everyone is a working magician my channel is for hobbyists or grandfather's that want to impress their grandkids.
0:17 It's *cheaper* than what magic shops charge for their props pre-made. Let's just put it _that_ way.
your decimal point is in the wrong place, you need to move it over one place to the right. example, ten and a half inches is not 2.67cm. it is 26.7cm
He also has 9” as 2.8cm. 9” is 22.8cm, so with the decimal point in the wrong place, he should have had written 2.28cm, not 2.8.
Can you make a performance video of this?
It's a copy of the Masked Magician hand guillotine. Check his video out.
