I bought the exact part you recommended at Oreilly store and then replaced it. Then after, I erased the code with my scanner and test drove the car. So far the car is not shaking and when I press the gas, it takes off pretty normal again. So far, so good... I'm praying this will fix my Pilot because I only have 150,000+ miles on it and I don't want to buy a new SUV. THANK YOU, THANK YOU AGAIN! (CẢM TẠ)

This is apparently also known as the engine spool valve ; if you listed that in your title and description, you might get more views as many people with Honda Odysseys have this problem which in turn causes a leak that drips on the alternator beneath causing an electrical problem. Most figure the problem backwards as an electrical problem manifests first and then it gets traced back to the alternator but the etiology of the alternator failure is not addressed and repeats the problem. Mine had manifested but the leak was minimal, about 1.5 yr later it affected my alternator during the summer heat.
Thank you sir! Just replaced for the p3497 code. Afterward I scanned again and cleared the codes, but when I scanned again they reappeared on the scanner even though the check engine light was still off. Hopefully it just goes away now!
Hey man .. thanks so much for this video.. my 08 odyssey had that code I changed it as u did and now when I take out the freeway the engine no longer shakes like it previously was.I jus had a issue because after I switched it the oil kept leaking out , but I got the gasket seal and its working perfectly thank u again

Hello William How are u? Changing VVt solenoid on back 2 is very simple. You just call to deal-ship or Auto part store and ask them for vvt solenoid bank 2 . They will tell you. You can follow my video. you should get your job done. Just want to let you know bank 2 is easy but bank 1 hard one and alot work need to be done. Thank you for watching.

I changed the whole solenoid in Oct 21, 2021. I bought a Dorman 918-058 back then and replaced. 3 days ago I had an oil change and I wonder if the the code P3497 again has to do with it? I am panicking. Buy the whole solenoid again?

Hi Kim, Thanks a lot for your time to reply to my messages, I have ordered the parts and I have done the installation, but unfortunately I’m still getting the same issues, is there any sensors has an interface with this switch that may cause this problem. I realized when I put some load on the engine I’m getting this error and the engine losses the power. Once I switch off the engine and switch on back every thing goes to normal. hey man, great video, i just bought a 2010 odyssey and 2 days after i bought it the engine light came on with this same code. there is a loss in performance but no engine shake or vibration. i read it might be also caused because of a after market oil filter. can you suggest what i should do first to fix this code?
Changing ur car engine oil and oil filter first then clear the code. If it does not help then change sensor ok I dt want u go to deep with electrical. Thank you pls let me if u guy need more help
@@foxtrotsteve it did fix for a little while then it came back on, did a little digging and found out the head gasket and steering wheel pump had some leaks. got those fixed and now everything seems to be working fine
Hello, I recieved an engine light after switching to sports mode on my 2011 accord v6. When I looked up the code it was P3497. The code went away after filling up the car with gas and stayed off; however, i still feel a loss of power and hear a rattling noise coming from egine bay upon cold start. Could the solution in this video fix this problem?
I changed the vvt solenoid for p3497 system bank 4 but then it appeared again on scanner p3497 system bank 2 what should i do? After changing the the solenoid it has made engine less shaky but now it has a shake to it but not as bad but i do feel a lost of performance when I accelerate to normal speeds on roads
What would you think if you got the p3400 and p3497 code at the same time and the won’t run. Let the car warm up one cold morning and came out to it not running and now won’t start. Any ideas?

Did the issue presented again after you performed the replacement?
For me it worked, code came again but after a couple of weeks it went away and no issues since than.
